Chapter 54 - Hiko x Ai - 54: Record Studio

After he used the Master-level Experience Card, he re-examined the sheet music and dance steps provided by the system and discovered a problem.

This set of dance steps was perfect for nine people, with three on the left, three in the middle, and three on the right. Groups of three alternated positions and performed exclusive interactive movements, creating a very strong visual effect. If the number of people was insufficient, the performance impact would be greatly reduced.

He had made a rough plan earlier: for a five-person group, it would still work, requiring only a one-three-one formation.

Since the others didn't know the complete dance, they wouldn't notice any abnormalities or incompleteness in the positions.

But the President's intuition was astonishing. Even without knowing the full version of the dance, she could sense its incompleteness.

Should it be said that she truly was the one who discovered Love?

"But my intuition has always been very accurate..."

As Ichigo spoke, she suddenly remembered what Hiko had said earlier.

"You said before, in the dance practice room, 'This is a complete dance. Even if the group adds more members in the future, I can fill in the movements for the newcomers.'"

Ichigo immediately understood the source of her intuition and then asked Hiko, "So, how many people was this set of dance moves designed for? Don't gloss over it. I know it absolutely wasn't designed with five people as the template, or you wouldn't have said that."

'So, I let it slip.' Hiko realized she was quoting him and remembered that he had indeed said that earlier. He had assumed it was her sharp intuition: "You don't need to worry about that."

"Although I know you're a genius, it's not good for you to try and learn everything. You'll only wear yourself out in the end."

Seeing that Hiko was unwilling to explain, Ichigo didn't press him further and instead showed concern for his health.

"No, I know my own body," Hiko replied casually.

"As long as you're aware of it."

Ichigo drove Hiko to the recording studio, parked the car, and the two got out, with Ichigo walking ahead.

"This is your first time recording a song, so you might not know the process. Let me explain."

Taking advantage of the free time, Ichigo said, "Even if you have the sheet music, you still need to decide what instruments will be used in the song, write the separate parts, and assign their order. Generally, for recording, you need to mark the verse, chorus, interlude, verse two, chorus two, and outro."

"After assigning the band's parts, you also need to decide the song's style. Finally, when the recording begins, you have to monitor and correct any deviations. That's the general process."

Ichigo went on, "Don't worry about troubling the band members. I have some connections with them, so we can take our time. If you're not satisfied, we can re-record. Don't worry."

"If you feel the timbre isn't right and want the sound of a special instrument, they basically have them all. They even live nearby, so they can take you to audition the timbres yourself."

"Hmm, I understand. But this is just an ordinary song, so special instruments won't be necessary," Hiko said, though he felt the process sounded troublesome. Fortunately, the scores provided by the system were complete, so he only needed to copy them.

Hiko followed Ichigo into the recording studio.

A slightly overweight man dressed in casual black sat on a black chair.

After entering, Ichigo greeted the man, exchanged a few words, and explained that the real client for this trip was Hiko.

Hiko casually glanced around the room.

In front of the man was a wall-mounted desk with a computer and various controls. On top of the desk were three evenly spaced speakers.

Behind the middle speaker was a pane of glass, through which the recording booth could be seen.

To the right of the desk was the booth door, with a recording-status light above it.

"This is Taniguchi," Ichigo introduced after chatting with the man for a while.

"Taniguchi-san, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'll be in your care," Hiko said politely after hearing the introduction. He added, "My name is Hiko, and I am Saito Ichigo's nephew."

"This is my job. No trouble at all," Taniguchi replied, then smiled. "Truly, genius shows itself in youth. You're only twelve years old and already composing and recording. I'm envious. When I was twelve, I was still just an ignorant, naive boy."

Taniguchi looked back on his past with a nostalgic expression.

Just then, four young men in fashionable clothing walked in.

"Excuse us," they said in unison as they entered.

One of them stepped ahead of the others.

"What a coincidence, Miura, you're here too," Ichigo said, recognizing him.

"After you called me, I gathered them," Miura replied, striding forward and extending his hand. He went straight to the point: "Where's the sheet music? Give it to us. The sooner we finish recording, the sooner we're done."

"Still so impatient. Hiko, quickly give them the sheet music and go over the arrangements," Ichigo said, used to his manner.

"Miura-san is right. The sooner we finish recording, the sooner we're done," Hiko agreed. He took out the sheet music he had written in the company's dance practice room and handed it over.

"If it needs refining, I'll adjust it again. I didn't know before that recording required such a specific order," Hiko added.

Miura frowned slightly as he took the papers.

There was only sheet music for the song, not for the instruments. That was troublesome.

And judging from his words, the child had written it himself. It would probably take several days to prepare the instrument scores, which meant recording likely couldn't start today.

Miura glanced back at his bandmates for their opinion. They didn't signal any refusal, so he said, "We'll look over the sheet music first. You can use this time to think about the instrument allocation."

Hiko nodded, not trying to soothe them with promises like, "I'll be quick, just wait a moment."

Instead, he found a spot, pulled out a pen, and began copying.

Miura and the others studied the song sheet music for a while and tried playing a few notes.

But only a few minutes later, Hiko had already written out all the instrument parts, with detailed time markers included.

"Here's the instrument sheet music you wanted. I've also marked the insertion points," Hiko said, handing the sheets directly to Miura.

Miura was stunned by how quickly Hiko could produce the complete instrument parts.
