The three heroes found themselves in an unknown room . When they woke up ,maids changed their torn out prison clothes .
The maids guided them to the bath and provided them a new set of clothes .
The three were obviously confused because of the whole situation. But they figured that it would be best to co-operate and wait for an opportunity to ask about the whole situation.
They were taken to the dining hall and were served the most extravagant meal . They have never seen such an extravagant meal in their life .
While they were eating, the door slowly opened. The saintess entered the room with two guards .
Saintess : [ Well , aren't you guys pretty lively? ]
Zarian : [ Cut the crap ! Tell us immediately, what is going on ?]
Saintess: [ Guess there's no need to beat around the bush now , is it ? ]
Both Zarian and Ayla looked at the Saintess in curiosity, they were eager to learn about them being chosen to fight against the great evil .
But Lief, a boy of about 17 , the third prisoner . He had a dark and grimm look on his eyes, a look that no mere child of 17 should have .
His eyes looked lifeless , like he had lost all meaning in life . He didn't mind about the whole conversation and just kept on eating like it didn't concern him .
Saintess : [ Our world is divided into three realm . The one ruled by humans , the one ruled by beastmen and finally the one ruled by demons . The demons are the great evil who you were summoned to fight against.]
Ayla : [ But why specifically us ? ]
Saintess:[ I don't know , it's all in the great God's will . You were chosen by him to defeat the great evil ]
Zarian : [ But we are just regular humans . What could we possibly do against the so called demons ?]
Zarian had a fierce look on his face .
Saintess : [ You are going to be blessed by the great God in three days . The great God would grant you devine abilities which would greatly help the humans to defeat the great evil ]
Zarian : [ What's in there for us ? Why should we fight against some demons to save your world when we are nothing but outsiders ? ]
Saintess : [ I figured that you would ask this question. ]
The saintess smiled at Zarian .
Saintess: [ If you defeat the great evil . The Holy Temple would grant one of your wish . You could wish for anything and it would be granted ]
The heroes expression suddenly changed . Lief who was uninterested suddenly looked at the saintess.
His voice trembled.
Lief : [ Do you really mean it ? ]
Saintess : [ The Holy Temple never take back it's word ]
The heroes started thinking in silence . They never expected that a opportunity to change their life would present itself in such a way .
They looked at eachother and yelled in unison : [ We accept your offerrr! ]
Little did they know that this action would have consequences which they could have never imagined.
Lief : [ Hey, how could we trust a shady looking lady like you , huh ? What's the garanty that you would not betray us ? ]
Saintess : [ I promise in the name of the great God who I serve that I would uphold my promise even if it costs me ,my life ]
A sudden golden light blinded the room and a chain tattoo appeared on the hands of Saintess and Lief .
Lief : [ Hey , you shady looking freak! What the hell is this ? ]
Saintess :[ Oh my ! Aren't you a bit foulmouthed for a child . Your parents would be sad if they heared you talking like this ]
Lief face suddenly got red with anger , it was like he was a different person .
Lief : [ Don't you dare talk about my parents with your filthy mouth , you damn bitch !]
The guards suddenly pointed their swords towards Lief . Lief was held at sowrd edge , he could feel the sharp edge of the swords pressing on his neck .
Saintess: [ Oh my ! Guess I must have struck a nerve . Let him go , he is the hero who will defeat the great evil afterall ]
The guards withdrawed their swords . Lief fell down on his leg , he was breathing heavily.
Saintess : [ The chain symbol on your hand is a sign of the "vow" . I promised in the name of great God , and if I were to break it , my body and my soul would disappear into nothingness. Is that enough for you to trust me , my dear "hero "? ]
The three looked at the saintess in disbelief.
Saintess : [ Well then , you guys should take your rest and prepare for the festival. You would be blessed by the great God himself. I will meet you in three days ]
The saintess left the room with her guards . Lief left the dining hall in anger and slammed the door . He isolated himself in his room .
Zarian: [ Well, teenagers are tough to handle, aren't they ? ]
Ayla : [ What ? How old are you ?]
Zarian : [ Well, I'm 25 . How old are you ? ]
Ayla : [ Wow ! You're old , I'm 19 . You should take care of your health oldman . ]
Ayla also left the room while giggling to herself .
Zarian sat on the chair , he was called old by a mere teenager . His pride was broken . He sat on the chair questioning his life choices.
But he was quite relieved. It was the first time that he had seen Ayla smile like this .
Zarian : [ Old man , huh ? Would Alisa have called me old if she was here ?]
Zarian talked to himself while looking through the window .
