Chapter 20 - Talking with Isha.

"What are you keeping talking to yourself?" Sky asked, confused by her mumbling.

"No-nothing. Just happy to see you. So now I can ask you everything I want, right?" she asked with a smile.

"Oh, why do you think like that?" Sky countered.

"What do you mean?" she asked, confused. "Haven't you told me to ask you whatever I want, once you came to my room today?"

"Well, sure, I did say that, but…"

"But…?"

"Give me a reason to tell you about myself or my details. When you don't even know a single thing about me, but still somehow manipulated me into coming by just a mere coincidence of meeting at the fair," Sky stated directly. He implied she had manipulated him, but his face remained calm, showing no real impression of her tactics.

Isha understood his meaning. With a beautiful smile, she said, "Sure, I will give you a perfect reason. But before that, why don't you sit here? I don't feel good talking with my savior standing there." She gestured to the bed beside her.

"Hmm… understandable," Sky responded, sitting next to her.

"So, why should you tell me about yourself? Well, that's pretty much simple: because we are in the same boat. He didn't only see you; he saw me as well. So I want to get close to you so I can prevent dying a brutal death. Since I only know you who can save me. As for manipulating you, that was never my plan, and I can't manipulate you. I was at your mercy from the beginning anyway; it's you who decided to come here. If not, it's not like I could ever find you again since it was pure coincidence to meet you at the fair, my lord. So it doesn't matter if I am capable of explaining or not, since you have come here by yourself, I can guess you would eventually tell me about yourself on your own. Because I am sure of one thing: you also need a companion to help you in this matter. So I guess…"

"Okay, stop… don't say anything. I am satisfied with your explanation. So ask whatever you want," Sky declared, not having much time.

"Really? Then who are you?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"I am human, just like you, but with some supernatural powers which I don't know how I got. But I recently became sure that I am not alone; many people around the world also have powers like me, just like the one who attacked you that day," Sky explained in detail.

"You don't know how you got your powers?"

"Yes, I don't know about others, but I have a guess for myself."

"Guess means…?"

"Means when I was young, only a few months old after being born, an unusual-looking woman made me drink her milk. Although it doesn't explain anything, later I discovered that that woman was a priest with some special powers, and her making me drink her breast milk does raise some suspicion," Sky said.

"What? It sure does raise some suspicion, but anyway, what can you do with your supernatural powers?"

"I can fly, have super strength, and run quite fast, but the real ability I have is adaptability," Sky said calmly, deep in thought.

"Adaptability? Can you elaborate, my lord?"

"Adaptability like this: if I get a cut on my arm like yours, the next second my body adapts to overshadow that. It means after taking one deep cut from a knife, my body would become strong enough to resist it with ease in mere seconds. It means it doesn't matter how much one attacks me with the same knife again and again; I wouldn't get hurt or harmed at all," Sky explained.

"Oh my, that's overpowered!" Isha thought, surprised.

"Does anyone else know about this ability of yours, my lord?" she asked, wanting to know.

"No, you are the first one to know about it."

"Then why did you decide to tell me about this, my lord? You said you don't believe me just now. And now you've told me this much information about you like this…" Isha asked with a conscious tone.

"Well, that's because, sooner or later, it will surface anyway. So I thought of telling you this," Sky said with a slight shrug.

"But what if that monster tortures me to know everything about you? Then isn't it a bad decision to tell me all about this?" she asked.

"Hmm… that's true, but who cares…" Sky said nonchalantly. Their conversation continued for half an hour before Sky left her room. Isha offered him to sleep with her, reasoning that it was late, and he could protect her from the monster. But Sky didn't bother. He left after telling her to remove the bandage she was still wearing on her arm, otherwise, it would fill with pus, and he made her delete the photos she had captured at the fair. She had secretly taken photos of him and his sister, which might create trouble for Sky. After that day, he visits Isha's room every now and then.

Back to the Present

"Brother…" Sillia called him, seeing him a little lost in thought, "bubble-headed."

"Hmm?" Sky responded with a hum.

"I haven't asked you this: what are you going to do after this summer vacation ends, since you've graduated from high school?" Sillia asked, her voice laced with curiosity, but also a hint of underlying concern.

"Oh, that… After returning from here, I'll find a college and do a four-year master's course. After graduating from college, I can get a good placement or job to do and earn enough to settle. That's all. Nothing to brag about," Sky said calmly.

"Oh… I see. Then my studies would be nearly the same, right?" Sillia asked.

"Hmm… it can be, but it depends on you how you want to live your life. But I do recommend you finish your studies first, secure yourself a job to earn, and then you can presume to do whatever you want. If you do what I told you, Mom and Dad wouldn't come in your way. Like, you know, your friend—I don't remember her name—but her parents forcefully married her to another man. It won't happen to you if you go according to this." Sky explained. He then thought to himself, Even if she doesn't follow this structure, it wouldn't affect her much.

"What the hell! Why are you giving me that reference, huh?! Do you really think I would ever do such a thing?!" Sillia asked, her tone angry. She clearly didn't appreciate the comparison to her friend.

"Oh, I mean, who knows? I can't guarantee that you won't, especially after catching you hiding your phone from me when I unexpectedly enter your room," Sky said directly, a teasing smile playing on his lips. This made Sillia fluster.

"What are you talking about? When the hell did I ever do that?! I never hide anything from you!" Sillia retorted.
