Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Master of Confidence

Chapter 9: The Master of Confidence

Could a Spirit Hall-issued Spirit Certificate be questioned at will?

Forget a mere guard like him; even the City Lord couldn't question a Spirit Hall-issued Spirit Certificate.

The guard, of course, knew this. He was giving Old Jack and the other two such a hard time simply to get some wiggle room. A more sophisticated person would have already offered a few Copper Soul Coins.

But Old Jack, though old, had grown up in the village and was a simple man, completely oblivious to this.

Seeing Old Jack about to go to the Spirit Hall to speak, the guard immediately panicked and tried to pull him back.

Seeing this, Sun Qi stepped in behind Old Jack, preventing the guard from reaching him.

Tang San's gaze fixed, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. He struck the guard in the abdomen, sending him flying. From his right wrist, a hidden arrow clicked, ready to fire.

The guard, visibly enraged at being sent flying by a child, said,

"You little brat, you're courting death!"

The guard stood up and was about to charge at Tang San when a hoarse voice called out, stopping him.

"Alright, stop it,"

the guard's expression instantly changed, becoming fawning.

"Master, you're back."

Sun Qi turned and saw a middle-aged man, seemingly in his forties or fifties, with short black hair and a rather thin build, appear behind Tang San. Sun Qi knew it was Yu Xiaogang.

At first glance, he didn't find Yu Xiaogang particularly attractive.

Although he was an older man, he lacked a mature aura or a particularly masculine aura. Instead, his unconcealed decadence drew a subconscious frown.

"Old sir, could you please show me the Spirit Hall certificate?" Yu Xiaogang said calmly, looking at Old Jack.

Though his words were polite, his tone remained steady, his gaze fixed on the certificate in Old Jack's hand.

Old Jack quickly handed the two pages of proof to Yu Xiaogang.

Yu Xiaogang frowned.

He looked at the information on the first page of the proof.

"Sun Qi? His Spirit is a stone monkey? His innate Spirit Power is level one?"

His eyes swept over the description behind the column of Sun Qi's Spirit, and his eyes froze for a moment.

The stone monkey Spirit, a monkey jumped out of the stone, is an Out Of Body Spirit that exists independently from the Spirit Master.

This description made Yu Xiaogang think about it.

He turned over Sun Qi's proof with an expressionless face and looked at the second page of proof.

The Spirit is Blue Silver Grass, and the innate Spirit Power is full.

These two points made Yu Xiaogang's heart beat hotly.

If it weren't for Tang San, he wouldn't mind guiding Sun Qi's cultivation and studying what kind of inspiration Sun Qi, who also has an Out Of Body Spirit, can bring him in terms of Spirit.

There's always room for reference when cultivating similar Spirits.

However, with Tang San's inherently full Spirit Power and twin Spirits, perhaps he doesn't need to rely on himself to prove himself.

Raising a powerful Titled Douluo is also a way to prove himself, and Tang San has the conditions!

As for Sun Qi?

Yu Xiaogang quickly lost interest in Sun Qi.

Separating Spirits also differ from person to person.

Luo San Pao's innate talent is only slightly inferior, but because of his Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon bloodline, he can simultaneously perform a Trinity Spirit Fusion Technique with two other powerful Spirit Masters, manifesting the form of a Golden Holy Dragon. Strictly speaking, this is no ordinary Spirit. Although he is only a Great Soul Master, after the Golden Iron Triangle was assembled, he was the most important core link. With his Spirit Luo San Pao's transformation into a Golden Holy Dragon, his strength was among the best in the Spirit Master world, a prestigious one.

Sun Qi?

Stone Monkey?

A level one innate Spirit Power meant its upper limit was limited.

"The proof is genuine, old man. Leave them to me,"

Old Jack thanked him hastily. After asking Yu Xiaogang to look after the two children, he instructed Tang San and Sun Qi to cultivate diligently and become Spirit Masters as soon as possible before departing.

Yu Xiaogang led the two toward the Academy.

Once inside, they reached a deserted area where Yu Xiaogang handed Sun Qi his certificate.

"The registration office is in the teaching building. Go straight ahead. It's marked inside the tallest building."

Sun Qi knew Yu Xiaogang was about to start tricking Tang San.

He took his certificate and didn't linger.

Carrying his heavy bags, Sun Qi headed to the Academic Affairs Office and completed his registration.

He was undoubtedly assigned to Dormitory 7, the only dormitory for working students.

Knowing the situation ahead of time, Sun Qi opened the door and dodged Wang Sheng's attack. Using his skill, he parried two of Wang Sheng's attacks before saying, "I'm not interested in being the boss. I can help out if a part-time student is bullied, but don't bother asking me about boss fights. I don't want to waste my energy."

Sun Qi then found a bed and spread out his own bedding.

On the other side,

"It's time for me to give it my all. After all, the one before me is the third twin Spirit in the continent's past hundred years."

Tang San's face changed drastically. His gaze at Yu Xiaogang turned dangerous, murderous intent already brewing in his heart.

Yu Xiaogang remained composed. Seeing Tang San's surprise, he began to analyze with great pride, "Are you curious how I know you have twin Spirits?"

He raised the Spirit Hall certificate in his hand and proudly declared, "Based on this certificate alone, I can conclude that you have twin Spirits!"

Tang San was quite astonished.

He looked at the certificate; it contained no unnecessary information at all.

"I've researched Spirit Masters with Blue Silver Grass Spirits. Of the six hundred and forty-seven Blue Silver Grass Spirit Masters, only sixteen possess Spirit Power, a probability of less than three percent. And even among those who possess it, none are above level one."

"Everything has exceptions. Couldn't I be that exception?" Tang San asked calmly.

Yu Xiaogang nodded in approval, then shook his head.

"Indeed, everything has exceptions, but I don't think your Blue Silver Grass is that exception. Therefore, you must have another Spirit that grants you innate full Spirit Power."

Tang San hesitated for a moment, then looked at Yu Xiaogang.

Yu Xiaogang smiled at Tang San and said, "My theoretical knowledge is among the best on the continent, and I believe I can help you cultivate your twin Spirits to their full potential, unleashing their greatest strengths."

Tang San didn't hesitate.

He knelt on his knees and bowed his head.

"Teacher, please accept me as your disciple."

...

Sun Qi had made the bed and was resting when Tang San pushed the door open.

He was greeted by Wang Sheng's flying kick.

The unexpected attack made Tang San alert for a moment. He took a stance, then grabbed Wang Sheng's ankle, used his strength to spin him around and threw him out.

Sun Qi opened his eyes, glanced at him, and said nothing.

He watched the two of them fighting quietly.

Tang San subdued Wang Sheng in just a few moves.

Not long after Tang San became the boss, Xiao Wu appeared and wanted to compete with Tang San for the title of boss.
