Chapter 8 - Chapter 8- Trouble, Goddess Appeared

Behind Yang Kai, Bon Min's voice wavered with nervousness.

"Hey… let's just say sorry and get out of here."

Beside him, Chen Zu nodded quickly.

"Yeah, they're clearly rich. We'll get into trouble if this escalates."

But Hang Chen wasn't the type to back down. His eyes blazed with anger as he clenched his fists.

"That witch is trying to frame us! We can't let her walk away like this."

Yang Kai didn't turn around. His tone was calm, almost bored.

"Don't worry. I messaged my friend. He is friend with Han Baiyan. He will handle it…" He allowed a slow, sinister smile to form on his lips. "Old man will bow."

Inside, his thoughts burned like embers.

I'll pretended that my second identity Xuan Yan is my friend for now. And also this world's spiritual energy is pitifully weak. I can't cultivate here. To grow stronger, I'll have to rely on this system—and situations like this are the perfect opportunity.

The old man, Ao Kan, barked out a laugh, shaking his head.

"You messaged your friend? Hahaha, what a joke! Do you think Han Baiyan is someone runs a charity where just anyone can have his private number?"

Yang Kai said nothing, his expression unchanged.

Then, a soft ding broke the tension—Yang Kai's phone vibrated with a new message. He opened it casually. The message was from Mr. Han himself:

Mr. Han: "Oh, Mr. Xuan, who dared to mess with you? Give me the name and tell me what happened."

Yang Kai's gaze shifted to the old man, his voice low but cutting.

"What's your name, old freak?"

Ao Kan's wife snapped sharply, her tone full of disdain.

"My husband's name is Ao Kan!"

Ao Kan smirked arrogantly, adding,

"Why? What can you possibly do with my name? If you and your friends kneel and apologize right now, maybe—maybe—I'll consider letting you go."

Yang Kai ignored his taunts, his fingers moving swiftly over his phone's keyboard. He typed a message into the group chat:

Xuan Yan(Yang Kai): "Name: Ao Kan. My friend barely brushed his wife's shoulder, and she fell. She's overreacting, and now they're demanding that my friend kneel."

Almost instantly, Mr. Han's reply flashed across the screen:

Mr. Han: "Ao Kan? That crazy fool? I know him—it's definitely his fault. He's my late father's friend's son… but I'll tell him to apologize to your friends."

Yang Kai smirked faintly and replied:

Xuan Yan(Yang Kai): "That will be enough."

Slipping the phone back into his pocket, he looked at Ao Kan with cold amusement.

"Old freak, your countdown starts now."

Ao Kan and his wife laughed mockingly, their voices loud enough to draw glances from passersby.

"Yeah, yeah—pretend to know some rich young master all you want," Ao Kan sneered.

But then, Ao Kan's own phone rang sharply. The arrogance on his face faltered.

Yang Kai's gaze sharpened. His voice was calm, almost commanding.

"Answer the call."

Ao Kan's eyes flicked to his phone screen. The caller ID froze his arrogance instantly—CEO Han.

His hands trembled slightly as he stepped a little away from the group to take the call.

"C-Ceo Han…" His voice cracked with forced confidence.

Behind him, his heavily made-up wife sneered at Yang Kai.

"You brat, that's just an important company call. Don't flatter yourself—you're not special."

Bon Min and Chen Zu exchanged nervous glances. Their earlier bravado melted into unease.

But Hang Chen, fire still in his eyes, refused to back down.

"Let's check the surveillance footage then we'll find who's fault here." he muttered, crossing his arms.

Suddenly, Ao Kan turned back toward Yang Kai and his friends. His arrogant mask had vanished.

He stepped forward, bent at the waist, and bowed deeply.

"I'm sorry—it was all my wife's mistake. Please… accept my apology."

His wife's jaw dropped. Bon Min and Chen Zu stared wide-eyed, while Hang Chen's lips curled into a triumphant grin as though he had just won a grand prize.

Ao Kan's wife raised her voice indignantly.

"Honey, what are you doing? He tried to fli—"

SLAP!

The sharp crack echoed through the corridor. Ao Kan's palm left a red mark on her heavily powdered cheek.

"It was all your mistake! Bow and apologize!" he barked.

Tears welled in her eyes, but faced with her husband's glare and the weight of CEO Han's authority, she swallowed her pride.

She lowered her head and mumbled, "I'm… I'm sorry for my rude behavior."

Yang Kai didn't even spare her a glance. He turned with his friends, his voice calm yet edged with warning as they began to walk away.

"If this happens again… don't expect me to be so forgiving."

The four of them continued down the hall toward Room 211, leaving Ao Kan and his wife bowing behind them, the humiliation heavy in the air.

---

Meanwhile, Room 211

The nurse with glasses sat in a chair, waiting for the group to return. She tapped her pen against a clipboard, frowning slightly.

Why are they taking so long?

Suddenly, her phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen—Panda calling. A faint smile touched her lips. She answered quickly.

"Hey, Lin Quizu," she said, her tone lightening. "When are you coming? I'm still waiting for you."

The hallway was quiet except for the faint echo of footsteps. Yang Kai and his friends—Bon Min, Chen Zu, and Hang Chen—were chatting casually as they approached Room 211. Their earlier tension had faded into light banter.

Reaching the door, Hang Chen pushed it open, and they stepped inside.

The nurse with glasses looked up from her clipboard, adjusting her frames. Her tone was mildly scolding.

"What took you all so long?"

Yang Kai flashed an easy smile.

"We just… got into a little trouble."

She sighed, shaking her head.

"Agh, fine. Just sign here and take your clothes from the table. I have important work to finish."

Yang Kai picked up the pen and leaned over the paper, his friends gathering loosely around him, still chatting.

Suddenly—creak—the door opened again, this time with a burst of cheerful energy.

"Qian Qian! I'm here!"

The voice was bright, playful, and loud enough to startle them. Yang Kai froze mid-signature, his hand hovering above the page. Bon Min, Chen Zu, and Hang Chen turned in unison, their eyes widening in surprise.

Standing in the doorway, a young woman with a radiant smile and elegant while outfit—Lin Quizu—strode in as if she owned the room.

The nurse with glasses cheeks flushed pink as she shot Lin Quizu an exasperated look.

"You little panda! I told you not to call me by my pet name in public!"

Yang Kai's jaw tightened. He turned halfway, glaring over his shoulder, his voice edged with irritation.

"Ah, can you please be silent for a moment? I was about to sign."

But inside, his thoughts were far less composed.

Kyaaa… It was my first time signing, and they ruined it!

Yang Kai froze mid-turn when his gaze fully settled on Lin Quizu. Recognition flashed in his sharp eyes, and a thought surfaced, calm yet calculated.

She's the one I have to tame… right?

Lin Quizu's cheerful expression faltered for a heartbeat as their eyes met. Shock flickered across her face—she hadn't expected to see these particular boys here. She recognized them immediately; they were from her university. Quickly regaining her composure, she straightened her back and slipped back into her usual elegant demeanor.

"I'm sorry for disturbing you," she said coolly, her voice measured. "I'll be leaving now."

But before she could step out, Yang Kai turned slightly, keeping his gaze on the signature paper as he signed. His voice was casual, almost teasing.

"Well, I think you're from our university, little girl. So, what brings you here?"

Inside, his mind was already scheming.

Hehe… my mission begins now. I'll tame her completely… and then I'll see her father's face when it happens.

The nurse with glasses shifted nervously, forcing a small smile.

"Sir, she's just my friend. She only came to meet me. Could you… please let her go?"

Agh, if he complains to the hospital, it could cause problems, she thought anxiously.

Behind them, Bon Min leaned close to Chen Zu and Hang Chen, whispering,

"Hey, isn't she the campus goddess?"

Hang Chen's eyes narrowed slightly as he whispered back,

"Yeah… but why is she here?"

Bon Min glanced toward the nurse.

"I think… the nurse and the goddess are friends."

Chen Zu nodded quietly.

"Yeah, you're probably right."

Finishing the signature, Yang Kai calmly placed the pen back on the table. Folding his arms across his chest, he turned to face Lin Quizu and the nurse. His gaze was unreadable, his tone smooth but edged with mischief.

"Hm. So you're friends. Fine—I can let her go, and I won't complain about this… but what will I gain from it?"

The nurse blinked, stunned.

"Sir, what could I possibly give you? I'm just an ordinary nurse."

Lin Quizu's expression cooled instantly, her voice clipped and firm.

"What do you want?"

I know this type of man, she thought bitterly. People like him only care about money or valuables.

Suddenly, a familiar shimmer appeared before Yang Kai's eyes—a translucent system screen only he could see.

Yang Kai's lips curved into the faintest trace of an amused smirk.
