Chapter 14 - Eat, Sleep and Beat Harden

What are the benefits of becoming famous overnight? Actually, not much has changed, just more people want to take photos, and most of them are female fans.

Kayce suspected that some enthusiastic girls coveted his body, and their hands weren't always well-behaved during photos.

They also didn't care about the two beauties, Anne and Britney, by his side.

Although those two were very pretty, what if Kayce had unique tastes?

The Elite Eight was scheduled for March 27-28, the Final Four for April 3, and the Championship for April 5.

At the same time, the location for the upcoming games also changed; the matches would now be held in Indianapolis, the capital of Indiana.

The venue was Lucas Oil Stadium, which cost 720 million US dollars and took almost 3 years to complete. This stadium officially opened last year.

And for this competition, its capacity was expanded to accommodate 70,000 spectators.

Anyway, the tickets were sold. If you were far away, you'd just have to bring your own binoculars. That's how NFL stadiums are.

Kayce quite liked it here; after all, free travel was his favorite. Freeloading always felt good.

He had been here for two days. Yesterday, Kayce accompanied Anne and Britney on a stroll, and today he had to meet his good friends.

"Kayce, over here!" To cheer on his alma mater, Russell Westbrook arrived here today.

"Hey, Bro, you've gotten a lot stronger!" Kayce first exchanged a series of flashy hand gestures with Westbrook, then hugged him in greeting.

"NBA games are tough. I'm hitting the weights every day now. Your training method really works!"

Westbrook proudly showed off his muscles.

Kayce's face darkened. Had he become a 'gym rat' too? Was this thing so contagious?

"Love, you're still the same. Didn't you say you were going to lose weight?" Kayce teased Love with a smile.

"I think a moderate amount of fat helps my rebounding, Kayce. You played great in the last game, I'm really happy for you!"

Love hugged Kayce, speaking sincerely.

"Oh, Luc, who's this pretty girl next to you? You're so lucky!" Kayce joked with Luc Mbah a Moute.

"Don't scare Doris, Kayce. Keep up the good work and try to win the championship. Losing last year was really frustrating."

Luc Mbah a Moute also offered Kayce his blessings.

These were Kayce's teammates from last year. They successfully reached the Final Four but unfortunately lost. A single-elimination game is indeed very cruel.

"Kevin will be here soon. I'll introduce him to you guys. Kayce, you'll definitely like him. Kevin is also a gym rat!"

Westbrook looked at him as if to say they were kindred spirits.

Kayce really wanted to say, is it really okay for all of you to be so overly competitive?

Sure enough, 10 minutes later, Kevin Durant arrived at the hotel, accompanied by someone who should be Jeff Green.

These were Westbrook's current teammates, the original 'Thunder Big Three'.

"Kayce, you played exceptionally well in the last game, a triple-double, an incredible achievement!"

Kevin Durant immediately started with some polite flattery.

"Russell has been telling us about you, especially your training methods. I think they're really effective!"

Jeff Green also joined in the flattery. Everyone was skilled at this, they were all old buddies.

He never expected these two guys to be gym rats. Kayce quickly joined everyone in the mutual flattery, and then they went out to have fun together.

When Kayce returned to the hotel that night, he couldn't help but sigh, it really was most comfortable to go out and have fun with men!

"Ding-a-ling" The phone suddenly rang. Kayce looked and saw it was a call from Klay.

"Kayce, where did you go this afternoon? I finally managed to sneak out from my family, and you stood me up?"

Klay's frustrated voice came through the phone.

"I wouldn't dare take you out to party anymore. After your mother caught us throwing a party last time, what kind of life was that?"

In high school, Kayce often took Klay on adventures. His Spanish was developed during that time.

After all, Latina girls were too passionate, and Kayce loved learning foreign languages.

"That's all in the past. You're super popular now, Kayce. Next year, I'll be able to play in the NCAA too." Klay was filled with envy.

The two chatted and laughed, imagining a beautiful future together. One must always have dreams!

On March 27th, the Sweet Sixteen games began. Coach Ben led everyone in warm-ups.

The tactical arrangements had already been emphasized. The day was mainly for mental relaxation, as the game would start in the evening.

UCLA's opponent in this round was James Harden's Arizona State University. In the previous round, Harden eliminated this year's hot prospect, Jonny Flynn.

In the battle of the guards, Harden successfully won, and Jonny Flynn left due to injury. Kayce had already sent his blessings to his 'superficial brother'. It was said that Jonny Flynn would postpone his draft.

This was the risk of the game, and also why many players wanted to enter the NBA earlier.

Kayce was very familiar with Harden. In high school, Harden was Kayce's opponent. The two faced each other for 3 years, and Kayce was overwhelmingly victorious.

He almost gave Harden depression, but fortunately, Kayce was thoughtful and often took Harden out to have fun.

Thus, the two were very close, but Kayce had nothing to say about Harden's aesthetic.

This guy didn't care about faces, he liked butts, and loved big-booty girls.

It also blamed the trend in America these years. Look at the Kardashian family; their butts were not small, and many guys said they couldn't resist.

In this game, the task of defending Harden mainly fell to Holiday and Kayce. Their heights matched up. Collison was too short, making it difficult to limit Harden.

"Kayce, are you saying we should be careful about Harden drawing fouls?" Holiday was a bit confused.

"Yes, try not to reach in to steal the ball. This guy often makes it look like he's losing the ball, but he actually grips it very tightly, making it hard to steal, and it will result in a foul on your part. Just give him physical contact."

Kayce shared his secret to defending Harden with Holiday. Harden was a very smart player. He would test the referee's limits and fully exploit the rules.

Harden had excellent passing vision, and reaching the Sweet Sixteen showed his ability to lead his teammates.

At 5:30 PM, Lucas Oil Stadium was almost full. Sponsors' pre-game activities were ongoing.

Britney, with her 'money power,' got front-row tickets. Anne looked at Britney with a bit of exasperation; it was only two rows closer, truly a case of 'rich and willful.'

"Anne, which city do you think Kayce will go to after the draft? I hope he goes to New York; he can stay at my place then." Britney's eyes darted, hinting at something.

"I think Los Angeles is great. He went to high school and college here. He likes this city, and I also like the weather in Los Angeles." Annie replied with a smile.

Both pretty girls huffed inwardly after hearing each other's replies, but on the surface, they were still good friends.

"The answer to America's backcourt for the next 10 years, I like James Harden. He's very strong, fully utilizes the rules, and can create opportunities for his teammates. I'm betting on Arizona State University to advance."

Kenny Smith began his jinxing.

"Kayce has already delivered an amazing triple-double. He's in hot form. As long as the whole team stays focused, UCLA will be the better team!"

Reggie Miller praised his alma mater wildly. The two commentators began to undermine each other, warming up for the game.

"Go, boys, give it your best, go!" Ben said little, directly sending his players onto the court.

Feeling the fervent atmosphere in the stadium, Kayce smiled relaxedly.

"It's time to eat, sleep, and beat Harden again!"

"Clap" The game began.

UCLA successfully won the tip-off.
