Chapter 27: A Vow of Three Hearts
It was time to leave this timeline.
As I thought about it, I turned to the girls, trying to appear calm.
I let out a small sigh before speaking: "Girls… I think I need to tell you something. Actually… I'll be leaving Partner Academy soon."
The moment the words left my mouth, their expressions froze. Their gazes were filled with shock, as if I had just thrown a heavy, tasteless joke at them.
Xiao Xiao whispered faintly, her voice trembling slightly: "That… isn't funny, right? You don't really mean that, do you?"
Before she could continue, the moment was interrupted by Ning Tian and Wu Feng approaching quickly, their faces serious.
They spoke together: "Ji Lin, we've been looking for you. We need to talk about something important… will you come with us?"
I nodded without hesitation: "Alright, girls, I'll come with you."
Then I turned to Xiao Xiao and Wang Dong'er, smiling apologetically: "Forgive me, I'll treat you to dinner later as compensation. We'll continue our conversation another time."
Before I could fully process, Ning Tian and Wu Feng gently took my hands and led me to a luxurious suite in a hotel they had booked in advance.
I stood before them, surprised, trying to break the silence that had fallen: "So… what's this about? Did you miss me that much?"
Their faces flushed slightly, and they hesitated for a moment before Ning Tian stepped forward. Her gaze was direct, her heart laid bare before me:"Ji Lin… we want to be with you—not just spiritually. We've thought about it a lot, and the answer is clear… we've fallen in love with you."
I shifted my gaze to Wu Feng, who lowered her head shyly, her cheeks glowing like little flames, but she nodded slowly to affirm her friend's words.
A warmth spread through my chest. I took a deep breath and replied sincerely:"I… am happy with your confession. But I need to be honest. Are you truly ready to give up everything for me? This world, everything you've known?"
They stepped closer, their eyes locked on mine:"I promise you one thing: I will never hurt you. I will treat you honestly and protect you with all I have. But the decision is yours… will you leave this world with me and follow me, or not?"
I lowered my voice, but my tone was as clear as a vow:"If you choose to stay by my side… I promise you will never regret it."
Ning Tian stepped a little closer to me, her usual serious expression softened by a hidden gleam of emotion in her steady eyes.
She spoke in a calm, yet iron-willed voice:"Ji Lin… I understand what your words mean. I know you don't say this lightly. Leaving everything behind is not an easy choice. I am the daughter of a great clan; my responsibilities cannot be ignored. But… in this moment, for the first time, I want to choose for myself. I want to decide what makes my heart at peace, not what duty dictates."
Her voice trembled for a moment, but she quickly regained composure, taking a deep breath before continuing:"If the path with you takes me far from this world… I will follow you. I will not regret it. Because I don't want to spend my life wondering: what if?"
Her words pierced my chest like arrows of light—direct, mature, and sincere.
I turned to Wu Feng. She still had her head lowered, her fists clenched at her sides, her cheeks glowing like embers. Finally, she lifted her eyes, her gaze firm despite her shyness:"I… don't have Ning Tian's strength or rationality. But… my feelings are no less true than hers. From the very beginning, you've been different to me. And whatever the cost… even if it means leaving this world… I am ready."
I found no words in that moment. I simply raised my hands, stretching them slowly toward them. They stepped closer tentatively, and when our hands finally intertwined, I felt a power that words cannot describe. It was more than promises… it was a sacred bond born between us.
I smiled softly, though my chest burned with emotion:"So… from this moment on, we are no longer three separate souls. We are one. One destiny, one path… and we will never be apart."
That night, within the confines of that luxurious suite, the world outside was silent. There were only our three hearts, united in an eternal vow.
The night passed like a dream, until golden threads of dawn slipped through the curtains, and the sun rose high, scattering its gentle light over everything.
I opened my eyes slowly, my body drenched in a relaxation I hadn't felt in ages. Last night… it had been like a battle—not a battle of swords or power, but a battle of hearts and souls. A battle of love that left a deeper mark within me than any fight I had ever faced.
I turned to my side and saw Ning Tianwu Feng still lost in sleep. They hadn't awakened yet, as if time itself had paused at this moment of stillness.
Their positions resembled a painting crafted by a celestial hand. Ning Tian's features remained composed even in sleep, her cheeks faintly flushed, her breathing calm and steady, as if she were still dreaming. Wu Feng's soft red hair spilled over the pillow like a cascade of fire, covering half her face, her lips trembling lightly in deep slumber.
My heart raced faster. I couldn't take my eyes off them, captivated by the quiet beauty filling the room. I reached out slowly to brush a strand of Wu Feng's hair from her cheek. She didn't move, but let out a sleepy little sound that made me smile from deep within.
I leaned closer, observing the harmony of their breathing, listening to the gentle rhythm of their chests. In that moment, I felt that I didn't just have companions on this journey… but two hearts beating alongside mine, a presence that made me feel I was never alone.
I whispered softly, barely audible to the walls:"I won't let you regret this. From today, there will be no separate pasts or futures… we will walk this path together, no matter what happens."
Then I closed my eyes again, surrendering to the warmth of the moment, embracing the stillness that united us, as if the world beyond no longer existed—only the three of us.
A few minutes later, I could no longer remain silent. I let them enjoy their peaceful sleep and quietly rose from the bed. I dressed softly, smiling as my heart still warmed at the sight of their sleeping faces.
I decided to prepare something simple for them… breakfast filled with love.
I headed to the small kitchen attached to the suite and began carefully preparing a few dishes, putting a touch of care into each as if it were a new promise. Soon, the table was filled with fresh bread, small plates of fruit, two cups of hot milk, and aromatic tea steaming gently. I arranged everything neatly and sat for a moment, admiring it, feeling as if I were preparing a little celebration just for the three of us.
When I returned to the room, sunlight had completely bathed the space. Ning Tian was the first to stir, opening her eyes slowly and looking around before her gaze fell on me. She didn't speak at first, just smiled—a delicate smile, yet full of meaning.
I smiled back and approached the bed:"Good morning… my dear wives."
Wu Feng's face flushed immediately, half of it hiding beneath the blanket, while Ning Tian lifted her gaze to me, still showing traces of sleep, but she smiled lightly and said softly,"So this is… a real husband's morning?"
I chuckled, then reached out to help her sit up. As for Wu Feng, I gently pulled her out from under the blanket despite her shy protest. I held their hands together and led them to the table.
When Wu Feng saw the breakfast, she gasped in surprise, while Ning Tian tilted her head slightly and said,"You made this yourself… for us?"
I sat down before them, looking into their eyes as my heart raced:
"From now on… there will be no morning without me preparing breakfast for you. This is our life… our life together, the three of us."
I didn't wait for their reply. I held Ning Tian's hand, then gently clasped Wu Feng's other hand, pressing them lightly. They exchanged glances for a moment, then smiled in unison, as if my words had melted away the last wall between us.
That morning was not merely the start of a new day… it was the beginning of a true life together as husband and two wives, at a small table filled with more love than food.
