Chapter 5 - Chapter five: My Lady

IT SAYS LYCAN'S" ...

what does this mean? If it was not my mother's then what was it doing in her room? Why would the servant steal it? What is it related too? ...

I spent the whole night questioning, this whole situation... Time slipped into the morning, I woke with a dull ache pulsing at the back of my head, the price of the endless overthinking that had stolen my sleep last night. The first soft rays of sunlight slipped through the tall arched windows, brushing against my face with a warmth that felt almost cruel in contrast to the heaviness inside me. For a moment, I lay still, listening to the silence of the stone walls around me, wishing the light could chase away the weight pressing on my mind.i was so drowned into my thoughts that I forgot to even change this stiff gown, stood up from bed, I put on the slippers and took a shower, After that I move downstairs for breakfast.

Later in the evening, I decided to ask every female servant about the pendant, but all of them deny saying that they never saw a pendant like this, so I decided to put it in my safe.

~~~~~~
The forest stretched endlessly before me, its shadows twisting like restless spirits beneath the fading light. My feet moved on instinct, crunching against dry leaves and damp earth, yet my mind was far from the path I walked. Every breath of the cold night air carried the weight of memories I could never bury — faces I lost, a home reduced to silence, a name that carried too much grief for one soul.
The trees loomed tall, their branches clawing at the moonlight, and in their hollow whispers I almost heard my own torment echoing back. Alone, tangled in thoughts that gnawed at me like wolves, I felt as though even the forest itself had conspired to remind me of what I once was — and what I had become.
Tangled in the threads of my thoughts, i realize that I came too far in the forest almost lost, From a distance, I saw a castle rose like a monument carved into the sky — tall, unyielding, and ancient. Its towering stone walls, weathered by centuries, bore the marks of storms and battles long past, yet still stood proud and unbroken. High battlements crowned the fortress, where watchtowers pierced upward like spears of vigilance, their torches flickering faintly even in daylight.
The great spires shimmered against the horizon, their sharp peaks almost touching the clouds, giving the fortress both a sacred and forbidding presence. Wide gates of wrought iron, heavy and ornate, guarded the only visible entrance, while narrow windows slit through the stone, like unblinking eyes watching all who dared approach.
To an outsider, it wasn't just a castle — it was a warning, a sanctuary of power cloaked in mystery, echoing with the silence of those who dwelled within.
I was bewildered to see a castle past the vast, shadowed woods but it was too far from where I was standing, so I couldn't see it clearly enough but I was willing to go there and see who lives in such a majestic fortress, it was almost dark and I know I had a chance to explore this majestic place.
I walk at least one kilometer more to reach there and, as I drew nearer, the looming walls of the regal keep rose before me, their stone surface catching the faint glimmer of moonlight. Armed sentinels paced outside the gates, their armor clinking with every step, while others stood watch from the battlements above, eyes sharp as hawks. The air carried a weight of discipline and danger, reminding me that every corner of this fortress breathed vigilance.
Now I asked myself!! How can i go inside the castle without getting notice from the sharp eyes of these armed sentinels, just when I was drowned in my deep thoughts, someone's voice held me back, it was one of the sentinels saying, I heard him talking about, someone he was addressing as "my lady", my curiosity grown bigger but then again I started to think about how to enter, as I was sweeping my gaze across, I saw a window up above in the center of those ancient, scarred walls.
The window was open but I couldn't see inside because it was covered with thin, silken curtains swayed with the gentlest breeze, pale ivory with faint floral embroidery. I scanned my surroundings and to my luck no one was there, I extended my claws, their razor edges biting into the wall as I began to climb and finally reach the window, as I jumped inside the room.
The chamber smelled faintly of lavender and old parchment, a strange mix of softness and solitude. Heavy crimson drapes muffled the moonlight, though a sliver managed to slip through, touching the polished marble floor. A carved canopy bed stood at the center, draped in silken sheets that looked untouched, too pristine for someone so restless. Every corner of the room whispered royalty, yet beneath the gold and velvet.
It must be the room of highness, now the curiosity of seeing her, has reached its peak because the room itself says a lot about her, as my eyes wandered across the room, I couldn't help but admire it's quite elegance, lost in my thoughts, the sudden sound of someone's footsteps approaching towards the room tore me back to reality and I immediately hide behind the drapes.
The door burst wide with a thunderous crack, as though anger itself had forced it open, I got a glimpse of her and it was almost too dreamy and ethereal to believe my eyes. I saw her for the first time, she must be "MY LADY".
