Silence. A deathly silence.

On the streets of Queens, the onlookers, who had been filming the scene with their phones, and the media reporters, who had been broadcasting live, were all frozen in place like statues. Their mouths were agape in horror, a chill colder than the winter air creeping up their spines.

Iron Man, the hero who had become the undisputed icon of New York, who had awed the world with his technological prowess, had just been… swallowed by an unknown monster? It was like witnessing the death of a god, a shattering of faith.

Tonight was destined to be a night of despair for countless people in New York City.

Leo, the cause of all this, didn't give it a second thought. Iron Man's interference had been a nuisance, so he had simply… banned him from the field.

He landed back on the ground and walked toward the venomous spider, which was still shielding Aunt May with its body.

Though he now looked like a cute, harmless black kitten, no bigger than an adult's hand, the venomous spider, its consciousness now dominated by Peter, knew the terrifying truth.

Sensing Leo's approach, the venomous spider, its face twisted in a pained grimace, said intermittently, "Kill me… Please, kill me… I'm losing control…"

As he spoke, the gray-green viscous liquid of the symbiote began to squirm, a decadent, evil ooze that was slowly re-covering the boy's exposed face.

"No, Peter!" Aunt May cried, trying to peel the gray-green liquid off his face, but it was no use.

The venomous spider was about to be completely consumed by the symbiote.

"Then, as you wish," Leo said, his voice indifferent. He raised a paw.

CRACK!

His claws elongated and enlarged, clamping onto the venomous spider's hands from behind and lifting it into the air. His dark black tail, now a tentacle, bound the venomous spider's feet.

Ignoring the crying woman nearby, the black kitten's mouth split open, stretching far beyond the outline of its face, revealing a maw of interlaced fangs.

"This is how it should be," Venom's voice sneered in his mind. "Just swallow it!"

Leo ignored him. "This is going to hurt," he said inexplicably.

"Huh?" the Venom, still a parasite in Leo's body, was stunned. A dark premonition washed over it. "Wait a minute, what are you doing?!"

Leo didn't swallow the venomous spider. Instead, he took a deep breath, his chest expanding like a balloon until his body was five or six times its original size.

"You're insane! Stop! Stop immediately!" Venom roared, but Leo ignored it. It was impossible to stop now.

He held the venomous spider above his head, and then, with his jaw lifted high, he opened his mouth.

In the next second, people in a five-mile radius subconsciously covered their ears as countless windows, car windows, and light bulbs burst.

"GRAAAAAAAH!!!"

A terrifying, high-pitched roar erupted from his mouth. Leo was like an ancient monster, his roar a tidal wave of sound that cracked the very air. If it hadn't been directed at the night sky, it would have peeled the skin from the earth.

He had just let out an ultrasonic scream, a display of power that reminded many people of the god of Metropolis, Superman.

Sizzle.

The venomous spider's tough, leathery skin immediately began to boil, like water in a hot pot. Strands of gray-green mucus peeled off its body as the ultrasonic waves forcibly split the second symbiote from its host, Peter.

But the second symbiote wasn't the only one being hit by the ultrasound.

"What are you doing? Stop it! You'll break our symbiotic state!" Venom wailed in agony. It had never expected Leo to use such a self-destructive tactic.

A lone symbiote could never generate an ultrasonic scream on its own. This was only possible in the three-in-one state, with the Flerken's power superimposed on top of the Venom's.

"Wait! What's going on?" the disintegrating Venom quickly realized that the ultrasound was having no effect on Leo's own body.

"I just got your ability," Leo's now-rational mind responded truthfully, "not your weakness."

"So you knew," Venom realized. From the very beginning, Leo had been planning to deal with both of them.

"Leo, you bastard…"

Before Venom could finish, its liquefied body was forced to separate from Leo, breaking the symbiotic bond. But because Leo was still a parasite on the Flerken, the Venom was now trapped in the Flerken's body. And since two symbiotes cannot exist on the same host, and Leo's "symbiote" was now extremely strong and immune to sonics, the Venom had no power to fight for control. It could only be forced into a dormant state.

With the trinity state broken, Leo, still a symbiote with the Flerken as his host, felt the evil, negative thoughts that had been plaguing him wash away. Only the happy "meow" of the Flerken remained. He was fully human again, in his mind.

Thinking back to his three-in-one state, he still felt a sense of trepidation. The power had been unimaginable, but it had come at a cost. His thoughts and behavior had become more extreme, more evil, until he was on the verge of becoming a monster purely driven by the desire to kill. The Venom, on the surface, had been cooperative, but in reality, it had been guiding him toward the abyss, hoping to snatch control of his body.

With the Venom now in a dormant state, Leo, still in his black kitten form, but without the white lines on his belly, looked at the second symbiote, now separated from Peter. He opened his mouth again, and this time, it became a bottomless black hole that swallowed the fleeing symbiote in one gulp.

The Flerken's pocket dimension. Exile.
