"You're not staying here?" Hana asked, the words slipping out too quickly.
"No. But I'll be right next door if you need me," Kai assured, reaching for his phone and laptop.
Hana pressed her lips together. "…Okay."
He moved to the door, but the knob refused to turn. He tried again—nothing.
"What's wrong?" Hana rose, cautious.
"The door's locked." His brows furrowed.
"How?" She joined him, tugging at the knob herself to no avail.
"I can guess." He sighed, pulling out his phone. Kang didn't answer. Neither did A-ri. His hand fell to his side, a wry smile curling his lips. "Mom and Kang locked us in."
"Why?" Hana's eyes widened.
"She must've known I'd try to leave."
"Then… can't you just stay here?" she asked carefully.
"I don't want you uncomfortable."
"Why would I be?"
Kai exhaled. This girl has no idea… He set his laptop aside, grabbing a duvet and pillow. "Fine. I'll sleep on the floor."
Hana immediately bounced onto the bed. "The bed's big enough for both of us."
"No. You take it. I'll be fine here."
"Alright, then I'll sleep on the floor," she shot back.
He stilled, glancing up at her. "…Why?"
