"Stop zoning out," Nari nudged her side. "Today's test day."
"Test day?" Hana arched a brow.
"Mm-hmm. Operation: Make Brother-in-Law Jealous."
Hana groaned. "You're impossible."
But her protest died when her eyes landed on a figure standing under a cherry blossom tree. He was tall, broad-shouldered, with pink-dyed hair that fell in casual waves. A grey hoodie hung loose on his frame, but even like that, he stood out. Effortless. Striking.
"That's him," Nari whispered, eyes shining. "The new transfer. Half-American, half-Korean. And—" she grinned wickedly, "rumor says he's an idol."
Hana's grip tightened on her camera strap. "Nari…"
"Don't Nari me. Just take a picture. Smile. Let's see what happens."
Hana lifted her camera anyway, snapping candid shots. Click. Click. Click. But in one photo, it almost looked like he was staring directly into her lens—sharp, too direct. She shook it off. Coincidence.
She adjusted the focus again—only to jolt when he suddenly filled her frame, standing right in front of her.
Her camera slipped and thudded against her chest.
"Jin?" Nari whispered, nearly bouncing.
The boy turned, brows raised. "You know me?" His accent was smooth, his tone magnetic without trying.
Nari practically squealed. "Yes! I'm your top fan. I didn't know the new transfer would be you."
His lips tugged into a smile. "Always nice to meet a fan."
