Chapter 58 - The summer bride

"Up, up, up!" Nari clapped her hands. "We're turning you into the goddess you are."

Before Hana could protest, the girls dragged her to the bathroom.

What followed was organized chaos—foundation, blush, laughter, and Yuri recording everything like an obsessed director.

"Smile, my little princess," Yuri cooed.

Minji tied Hana's hair into a soft high ponytail, loose strands framing her face. Then they slipped her into a butter-yellow sundress with white floral prints and delicate straps. The sunlight caught the fabric, making her glow like something divine.

"Perfect," Nari said, tilting Hana's chin toward the mirror. "You look like the main character of a summer romance movie."

Yuri clasped her hands. "Kai's going to faint."

"Good," Minji added. "He should."

They paraded her down the hallway, laughter echoing as they entered the living room—

And there he was.

Kai stood by the window, morning light kissing his silhouette. Casual shirt, dark trousers, mug in hand. Effortlessly composed.

For a moment, the world slowed.

His gaze found hers—and stayed.

"Well?" Yuri teased, eyes glinting. "Aren't you going to say something, brother-in-law?"

Kai lowered his mug slightly. "You look…" his voice dropped, "…radiant."

Hana flushed. "It's just a dress."

"Some dresses are just dresses," Kai said, stepping closer, "but this one makes the morning worth waking up to."

The girls collectively gasped.

"Oh my God," Nari whispered. "He's smooth."

Kai ignored them, eyes still on Hana. "Have fun today."

"You planned this?" she asked softly.

"I did." He leaned closer, voice brushing her ear. "And don't worry about the money. Just enjoy yourself."

Before she could answer, Kang cleared his throat. Kai straightened, sipping his coffee like nothing happened.

But Hana's heart hadn't stopped racing since.
