Chapter 3 - Father Where Are You?

After the daily break down of his muscles Deacon after preparing at least a short sword and then a dagger tried to find any remnants of the priest and where he could've been taken. Starting with any rumors and left over memories the villagers might've had he learns about a specific rumor about the Priest's habits. The priest had an indulgence with one of the trade caravan women who were also a slime. Turns out a slime is great at keeping food stuffs refrigerated since their bodies are around a cool 31 degrees Fahrenheit. The thought disgusted Deacon for a multitude of reasons, but he held his breakfast in. Holding his intrusive thoughts in he followed the clues towards the forest nearby where he began to look for more clues.

Eventually stumbling upon the supposed forest where said Priest had been dragged towards Deacon looked around the outskirts until he found bits and pieces of slime residue dissolving grass. Deciding this was the right place he followed the remnants and walked into the forest. From another place in the world Jacob was panicking about where Deacon was headed trying to think of a way to warn Deacon or direct him back towards the village. He decided he would make this trip as quick as possible for Deacon with a few hints since he could easily watch over and give him warnings through the connection they share. "Quest line codenamed 'Guiding Light'. Yeah... probably a bit too on the nose but heck might as well call it what it is. Baby sitting..."

A notification flashed within Deacon's psyche. "Quest given. Follow the lights to find clues to the priest of Illias." A light started to shine through into the forest past a clearing at the roots of a nearby tree. "At the sound prompt please hide in the bush and hold your breath for 20 seconds. Imminent danger nearby. Try to keep calm and do not make eye contact. Avoid all magic touched plants or residue." Deacon surprised pleasantly at first then read the rest of the notification. He had no clue who the hell was guiding him, but he was sure they definitely could be trusted for now. A few moments into the forest he heard a chime and silently hid within a bush holding his breath as long as he could and watching for movement. As bushes rustle and twigs snap what came out surprised him. A woman with sharp ear and a green tunic holding a bow and a quiver around her hip somewhat on edge.

"I know you're here somewhere... Come out come out wherever you are..." *A notification flashed within Deacon's mind* "Stay perfectly still and hold your breath for about 15 more minutes. then advance towards the guiding light to escape this situation. From Task Manager" Deacon held his breath as best he could until the lady had moved on past him and then as he caught his breath he snuck carefully until a twig snapped. This situation continued until he got to a clearing where thankfully he could catch his breath. "Who are you?" Deacon thought as he advanced towards the pillar of light and then saw bits and pieces of slime as a message appeared in front of the light. "Forgotten me already, have you? Remember your good old falling buddy?"
