Chapter 1 - Hero Admin And Adventure

Deacon sat at his desk and focused on the monitor of his pc as he thought of different ways to capitalize on the patch notes of a well-known game.

Before he could continue noting routes and planning tactics for his favorite character, he felt dizzy and soon tumbled off of his office chair.

As bouts of dizziness assaulted his mind he retched and blew chunks all over his room's carpet. Deacon tried to get up and get to his medicine on the end table beside his bed, but before he could he felt a pull as if gravity decided to rotate. Mixing what was up and what was down for him while he let out a scream of terror Deacon Black left his home dimension behind.

Deacon found himself losing consciousness every so often visions of a man beside him black hair dark skin in casual clothing. He himself was in his pajama pants and a t shirt same black hair and brown eyes but lighter skin than what he has seen was another victim.

Every so often after he blacked out, he'd see something different. An office chair floating off in the distance, the other person waking up and yelling some strange mix of swears and what sounded like a cartoonish mix of words, and that same person slowly dissolving.

They both drifting in what felt like a cold expanse of darkness only able to see each other as they eventually were able to stay conscious for more than a minute.

The quiet didn't last as the man across from him cleared his throat. "I guess this is one way to die. What's your name?" The man trying his best to stay calm his mouth and eyes twitching as he looked over at Deacon. "My name is Deacon. Deacon Black what about you?" The man tried to smile and spoke in a shuddering voice. "My name is Jacob Fowler. So did you see any game show hosts or camera men on your way here or possibly a guy in a white robe?"

As soon as Jacob said those words darkness took over their vision leaving the desperate question unanswered. A being of pure white light watched as it saw two people drift towards the planet just as the other in black caught on as well, each one looking to each other confused and intrigued. Just before the two men could reach the atmosphere, they both dissolved into light and found themselves in a vast grey space. Jacob was the first to get up and brush himself off and get hiss bearings.

Jacob found his way towards a glowing orb in the center of what he assumed to be vast nothingness. Soon after walking to, it he saw Deacon in the orb plunging towards what looked like a town. Jacob seeing this deadpanned and grumbled before he thought of what he could do in his own situation knowing that his acquaintance Deacon was soon to be dead. No one could survive such a fall it's not as if humans were made of stronger stuff than meteorites nevertheless, he picked up the orb looking at it from every angle he could.

Finding what looked like to be a notification Icon on the bottom right of the ball no matter where he turned it, he tried pressing his finger to it but to no avail. He soon tried using his voice to activate it but again he failed. He didn't think too much before he tried mentally commanding it and somehow finding a browser search which startled him as to what he was seeing. Every single search he could ever have done online popped up as an option, but he soon focused on just trying to find a way to learn what this orb was and how it could get him back home, that was when he heard a voice in his mind. "Administrator permissions granted. Welcome to the wish fulfillment world User. Please give us a command." Jacob startled soon caught up to what was happening and smiled.

"Please blunt the force of Deacon's descent!" The orb glowing brightly soon displayed that Deacon had been protected from what was a lethal fall. "Wish fulfilled. Wish on cooldown for 1000 years." Jacob now dumbfounded but grateful to help his fellow traveler decides to look through what other features the orb has while Deacon is carried off by a couple guards and a few concerned tribesman and tribeswoman.

It was two days later that Deacon woke up sore. Opening his eyes he noticed he was in what looked like a knock off version of what most people back home consider to be heaven, his eyes meeting what looked to be an angel from myths in a maid uniform. "Good morning guest. Goddess Illias has sent me to care for you until you are well enough to visit her at the temple. I am Maiciel and will take good care of you under instruction by Goddess Illias. As soon as you can please visit Her Holiness at the church." Deacon blinks as he soon starts to understand what the angel said. "Good morning my name is Deacon nice to meet you."

After speaking to the maid Deacon was fed some porridge and left to rest while Maiciel started to continue her task of cleaning. The village named after the goddess of light Illias was a reserved close-knit community. It wasn't every day an angel came down from heaven and as they wandered the village pious villagers often came up to offer her different goods of all kinds. On their way to the church Deacon decided to ask a question. "So, is who I am meeting a priestess or something like it? I hear much talk about a Goddess named Illias but not much about who I am meeting at the church up ahead." Maiciel hesitated and looks up at Deacon soon realizing why he might ask such a question. "You are meeting Goddess Illias herself Mr. Deacon." Deacon now wide eyed started to sweat a little unready to meet such a figure. Surely if people praise her so much out of respect, she would be an important figure in this village if not even the planet. "Is there anything I should know before I meet her?"

Illias even with all the power she had wandered why she couldn't read this otherworldly human named Deacon. She had felt a couple presences make its way to her planet and tried to convene with them both in dreams noticing one was still awake and the other who had been sleeping couldn't be mentally invaded. Variables in her plans meant she would need to seek control of them or destroy them, whom is to even mention the other presence that felt everywhere within the planet's atmosphere and even in the air itself seemingly gravitating around Deacon. She decided not to stress about such things now and introduce herself to Deacon as he and her best maid came into the temple.

"Welcome Deacon my child." *Radiating her aura Illias stood on the stage of the church in front of the pulpit. Deacon feeling a bit of familiarity looked up at Illias and out of respect bowed. "Thank you for your assistance, Goddess Illias. If it weren't for you, I would've died on impact." Illias kept her smile gentle even as a bit of the edges turned up. "I have a task for you as the hero that will kill the monster lord."

Illias slowly made her way towards Deacon her face changing to a somber tone. "It has been Millennia since I and my sister chose to walk different paths. Her to embody the dark and I the light. I have tried many times to bridge the gap between us and find common ground but alas nothing has succeeded. For this task I have chosen you young hero. Go forth and journey to become stronger and defeat the Monster lord Alipheese the XVI. I will give you my blessing now as it is my birthday after all." Illias began to harness her power to give Deacon the blessing but soon felt a barrier stopping her which caused her to hesitate before trying to force it. Deacon fell to his knees as the power started to weigh on his mind and body which Illias noticed.

Illias now shocked masked her surprised behind a slight pout before she stopped any further attempts. "Seems you have a rather problematic power inside you... Very well no blessing for you." She instead looked over to Maiciel and gave her a gesture. "I will leave Maiciel to you for a day be sure to learn what you can within that time frame young hero. Oh, and try not to fall victim to any of the monster girls throughout your journey. Good luck." With those words she disappeared from Deacon's sight.
