Chapter 49 - Chapter 50: It's All That Dog's Fault

Henry waited a few minutes without hearing any more groaning from the slope.

He noticed 42 white pearls and 54 gray pearls had been added below the progress bar, feeling it was about right, so he stored the granite stone and silently sprinted down the slope at high speed.

The two German Shepherds in the factory began barking wildly, and increasingly violently.

This made Tom and Fabio jump with fright - the enemy was definitely coming again!

Tom gritted his teeth and called out: "Machine gunners attention! Fire flares."

With night vision, Henry became a child of the night, like a fish in water, able to run at high speed like an ordinary person in daylight.

He estimated that in thirty-plus seconds, Henry would be able to charge near the factory gate.

However, he had only sprinted halfway.

"Bang!" A red beam shot straight up.

The guards on both sentry towers spotted Henry running at high speed wearing a mask.

"Quick, quick, quick, adjust the gun muzzle!" Both groups were flustered.

In fact, getting four or five people to cooperate as one was very difficult, especially when tense.

The watchtower behind the factory gate couldn't adjust immediately, since the gun muzzle had been aimed at the top of the slope before, now it was the middle, and Henry was still moving at high speed.

Instead, the other machine gun originally aimed at the mountain road entrance adjusted relatively quickly, getting ready in a few seconds and chasing Henry with a full 7 seconds of crazy fire, equivalent to firing 24 bullets.

Although most missed due to Henry's high-speed movement, 3 still hit, causing 1 green pearl shell and 10 white pearl shells to dissipate.

The 11 guards 20-plus meters behind the gate flashed out and fired frantically at Henry, some even through the wire mesh, causing sparks to fly on the wire mesh.

When Henry reached about 20 meters from the first watchtower, he took out a 5-pound TNT package, activated a 3-second delay detonator and threw it at the 10-meter tower.

Just slowing down for this one second, Henry was hit by 2 more shots from the second machine gun, causing 10 white pearl shells to dissipate.

Henry immediately took out a granite stone to block in front of him, crouching down completely hidden behind the rock.

This scene left the soldiers on both watchtowers dumbfounded.

The eleven guards scattered 20-plus meters behind the gate also saw the granite stone appear from nowhere, equally unbelieving.

"Boom!"

The first watchtower was immediately sent off by the explosive package's high-temperature, high-pressure shock wave exploding almost point-blank.

"Oh God, can he do magic?"

"He's a devil!"

"Lord, save us!"

The sentries on the second tower were extremely shocked, their hands and feet went weak, and even the machine gun's firing rate was greatly reduced.

Henry made a decisive decision, stored the rock, and ran frantically toward the watchtower dozens of meters away.

Sure enough, another flare rose into the sky.

By the time the second machine gun team adjusted their condition, Henry had already charged to about 30 meters from them, taking 3 more hits.

Henry again activated a 5-pound TNT package and threw it at the top of their watchtower, and this pause got him hit 3 more times by the machine gun.

Henry immediately placed a granite stone and hid behind it.

"Boom!" After a tremendous roar, everything quieted down.

In total, it cost 1 green pearl shell and 50 white pearl shells to eliminate the two Gatling gun watchtowers.

Damn it, it's all that dog's fault!

Henry stored the rock, ran to about fifty meters from the factory gate near the wire mesh, crouched down and placed 2 fifty-pound TNT packages with 15-second delays, then turned and ran away with all his might.

This delay got Henry hit 4 times by concentrated fire from the 11 guards.

The wire mesh was hit with sparks flying everywhere.

Counting 12 seconds in his mind, Henry stopped and turned around, took out two rocks to block in front of himself, then took out a thick oak table and hid underneath it.

Based on Henry's judgment of his own speed, he had run about 120 meters.

Two seconds later, as the flare faded, there was a tremendous boom.

Continuous "whoosh whoosh whoosh" sounds filled the air, as if hundreds or thousands of throwing knives were shooting through the air.

Even at this distance, Henry's two rocks in front were still hit several "ding ding" times, though the wooden table was fine.

After everything settled, Henry stored the rocks and wooden table, carefully watching his feet as he slowly walked back toward the factory gate - there were many iron wires and nails on the road.

After approaching the original wire mesh location, Henry found a hole large enough for an adult elephant to walk through sideways had been blown open, with two large pieces of wire mesh lying on the ground like rags.

Most of the iron wires, nails, and spikes had been blown away somewhere.

All eleven guards who had been happily shooting at him earlier had fallen, with a few still groaning.

Henry took out two double-action pistols and settled accounts with each one, then walked over and collected them all into his space.

The last guard still making weak groans was unusually tall - estimated over 1.95 meters with bulging muscles all over, but no matter how much or how solid muscle couldn't block the concentrated fire of dozens of iron nails and wires.

Henry cleanly put one bullet to release him from suffering.

A green pearl containing skills or talents immediately appeared below the release progress bar.

Happy Henry continued searching for the sentries from the two watchtowers, found they had all been released, so he similarly collected them all into his space.

Since he had exposed himself tonight, Henry needed to release all those who might have seen the rock appear from nowhere.

There were many ways to keep secrets, Henry chose the simplest and most effective one.

Henry walked deeper into the factory, finding no one along the way, probably because ordinary workers had long finished their shifts.

The factory interior had many gas lamps, bright enough even for ordinary people.

So Henry could tell at a glance whether anyone was there.

Though the factory area was large, many places were ore processing sites, so the office area wasn't very big.

Henry looked through rooms one by one and soon found the supervisor's office here.

After careful searching, his Theft LV3 skill and powerful vision once again let Henry discover a secret room behind the office bookshelf.

So he pulled a bull head decoration on the bookshelf, making it slide right.

'Danger!' Henry followed his instinct and jumped sideways a big step.

"Bang bang bang!" Three bullets shot out from the space inside.

If Henry had still been standing in the original spot, he would have been hit in the chest and abdomen.

Henry instantly drew a double-action revolver and fired 6 shots into the space.

"Ouch!" A white man in his thirties fell in the space, blood quickly seeping out in a pool beneath him.

Henry stepped into the secret room and found only 3 red, blue, and green gems that looked quite large, so he stored them in his space.

Unwilling to give up, Henry continued knocking on walls and floors, working for over ten minutes without finding anything.

He had to stop, turned over the man's body on the ground, and found he had been quite handsome ten-plus minutes ago, with a money pouch at his waist.

Looking so handsome, where couldn't he make a living?

He had to come to this wilderness, probably one of the McKinley family members, and had made a secret room that could be opened and closed from inside.

Henry opened the pouch and found 126 dollars in bills and coins inside - better than nothing.

After collecting him too, Henry walked outside, reset the secret room, then continued exploring, soon discovering large and small warehouses.

The large warehouse contained production and military supplies. Henry collected 2,400 pounds of TNT, 4,600 pounds of dynamite, over 300 fire and electric detonators, 56 Winchester rifles, 68 Colt double-action revolvers, 16 Smith & Wesson No. 3 single-action pistols, 2 Gatling machine guns, and about 100,000 rounds of various ammunition.
