Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: An Object Formed from Yearning

"Hey! I'm leaving, Uku!" Yu Jin stood not far from Uku, speaking to the two newly born beings behind him.

"Okay! Goodbye, Mitachurl!" Uku raised his thick arm and waved, imitating Yu Jin.

"Goodbye, Lord God." Beside Uku, a fiery Seelie spoke in human tongue, bowing up and down to Yu Jin.

His homeland had been buried by snow, and now in the heart of the record keeper Uku, there were only two wishes: to see his homeland and to watch over Uku. Therefore, he chose the Seelie as his future body.

"Don't call me Mitachurl or God. I have a name; I'm Yu Jin." Yu Jin briefly complained about their address for him, then turned and left the place.

A Seelie with intelligence and a Hilichurl truly born from a curse, plus his Vision—such an interesting combination, surely they would forge an interesting path.

The wind and snow could no longer bring any cold to Yu Jin. He had not expected that within the snowy mountains, such brilliant light awaited his discovery.

After bidding farewell to Uku, Yu Jin continued along the path. However, unexpectedly, he hadn't walked far when a camp appeared ahead.

"This time I'm really lucky; I found a new clue so quickly." Yu Jin initially thought this, but soon he couldn't smile anymore.

Extending his arm into the unmelting solid ice, Yu Jin pulled out a new journal. Looking at it, he realized it was Joseph's handwriting, Joel's father.

"How the hell can you run so far!" Yu Jin nearly tore the journal in his hand after reading it. Because in the journal, Joseph said he was going to attempt to reach the summit of the snowy mountain!

Why didn't Uku beat him up then? Yu Jin thought to himself. Joseph wanting to get here and meet Uku was a certainty.

Yu Jin didn't think Joseph could defeat a Mitachurl, even with his extensive Adventure experience. Perhaps it was just that he hadn't disturbed the snow weasels, so Uku hadn't attacked him.

"Sigh, let's go. A little mountain climbing to exercise is good too." Yu Jin grumbled and continued to higher ground.

Following the clues in the journal, Yu Jin once again traversed the snowy mountains. He had to admit, Joseph's legs were truly good; after reaching the west side of the snowy mountain, he turned back to the east, all to charge towards the summit.

"Ha! Ha! I'm exhausted." An iron hand rested on the lower edge of the Statue of The Seven in Starglow Cavern, and then Yu Jin's entire body flipped over.

Standing up, Yu Jin examined the Statue of The Seven beside him. It depicted the image of Barbatos.

The tall Statue of The Seven emitted a blue light and a faint Warmth, serving as a destination in this desolate land.

Others said that the Statue of The Seven and the Teleport Waypoints on the continent had a teleportation function, but no one knew how to use it.

Yu Jin also studied it, but because it was a bit complicated, he was afraid of damaging this ancient civilization relic. Coupled with his lack of interest in teleportation, he eventually gave up on it.

After resting by the Statue of The Seven for a while, Yu Jin bypassed the large pit of the ancient civilization ruins and ran towards the path to the summit mentioned in the journal.

"Can a person even pass through this?" Yu Jin only ran for a while before retreating. After going up for less than a quarter of an hour, his armor was covered in ice crystals.

He believed that unless one was a fool, they wouldn't brave such heavy wind and snow to assault the summit.

"He must have gone somewhere else." Yu Jin shook off the ice crystals on his body, leaned against the rock wall of the path, and began to ponder.

He walked while rubbing against the rock wall behind him—because Yu Jin felt that the ice crystals on his back hadn't been completely cleared.

"Clang, clang, clang!" Suddenly, gravel hit Yu Jin's body, making a series of crisp metallic sounds.

"Hmm?" Yu Jin turned to look and found that he had unknowingly leaned against a pile of fresh earth. And those stones were falling from the fresh earth that had not yet Frozen.

Yu Jin immediately had a bad premonition. He looked at the three to four-meter-high mound of earth in front of him. He pulled back his arm, then punched!

"Boom!" Dust scattered, and Yu Jin emerged from the flying smoke, looking at this newly opened space.

As he expected, there was a makeshift camp not far ahead. Yu Jin jogged over and saw a journal lying in the center of the camp.

Picking up the journal and looking at the somewhat messy handwriting, Yu Jin felt that Joseph might have already died.

He looked through it, and apart from some words that seemed like a last will, the main information was that Joseph planned to escape towards the cliff at the end of the cave.

"Ah, let's take a look." Although Yu Jin felt there was little hope, he still decided to go and see first.

Walking along the cave further inside, the narrow entrance soon opened up suddenly. The cave ended abruptly here, and ahead was a snow-covered cliff.

Yu Jin didn't delay; he walked directly down the cliff. As far as his eyes could see, it was a expanse of white snow.

However, his Vision soon changed slightly—there was a grayish-black dot at the bottom of the cliff.

Yu Jin changed from walking to running, descending quickly from the cliff. After reaching the bottom, he saw the out-of-place grayish-black object: a backpack.

He picked up the backpack and rummaged through it: some supplies that were long Frozen and unusable, and a copy of "Princess Boar, Vol. 6" that was Frozen brittle.

"He really died," Yu Jin sighed. Life is unpredictable; he had originally planned to give Joseph a good lecture once he found him, but alas, the person was gone.

He searched around and finally found Joseph's body, huddled beneath the thick snow, not far from the backpack.

"Alright, I can't let your body be exposed in the wilderness." Yu Jin directly carried the stiff body of Joseph on his back, took his backpack, and with a big leap, jumped back into the cave.

"Clang, clang, clang." In the silent cave, the sound of Yu Jin digging hard earth echoed.

Placing Joseph's body along with his backpack into the pit, Yu Jin said, "Don't worry, I'll look after Joel."

Then he buried him in the cave.

"Phew!" Yu Jin sat in the camp, looking at a small mound of earth not far away. This was his first time digging a grave for someone else; before, he was only responsible for killing, not burying.

"Ying—" Just as Yu Jin was about to descend the mountain, he saw a few small foxes circling Joseph's grave in the distance.

"Are they also little guys trapped here?" Yu Jin looked at them, and then he thought of the meager supplies left in Joseph's backpack.

What a kind-hearted fellow.

"How did you get up here?" Yu Jin felt very curious and threw some dried meat to them.

However, foxes don't speak; they just lowered their heads and ate the dried meat Yu Jin gave them. These little guys had probably been hungry for a long time.

Thanks to the dried meat, Yu Jin could also pet the foxes. Unfortunately, due to the obstruction of his gauntlets, he couldn't feel what the fox fur felt like.

"Let's go, I'll take you down." After petting the foxes for a while, Yu Jin prepared to take them down the mountain.

But the little foxes suddenly scattered. Just as Yu Jin wondered if he had no affinity with animals, he heard the foxes' calls again.

Following the sound, he saw those few foxes digging in a corner of the cave. Before long, they carried four glowing blue objects and placed them at Yu Jin's feet.

Yu Jin bent down and picked up the gifts these little creatures had given him. They were a flower, a feather, a cup, and a crown.

"Things formed from yearning?" Yu Jin looked at these four objects. He could feel within them that spirit of forging ahead bravely, fearlessly, and advancing towards the mountain.

"Is it you again?" Yu Jin looked at the grave mound not far away; he was somewhat shaken.

Picking up the four artifacts Joseph had left behind, and holding the little foxes from the cave, Yu Jin ran down the mountain.

Yu Jin's descent speed was much faster than his ascent. Soon, he ran back to the camp feeling light—the little foxes had run off as soon as they reached the bottom of the mountain.

"Joel, I'm back. I didn't find him." Yu Jin immediately saw Joel, who was eagerly awaiting at the camp entrance.

"Oh, is that so? Thank you, Uncle." Joel instantly looked dejected, but he quickly recovered and said to Yu Jin:

"Uncle, I have nothing to repay you with. This pocket watch was given to me by Dad before. I'm giving it to you. You're an Adventurer, so you'll definitely be able to go further with it."

"Is that so?" Yu Jin took the pocket watch, feeling the pulsations from the five artifacts. He pondered for a moment, then looked towards the snowy mountain.

"Try it?" Yu Jin muttered in a voice so faint that no one else could hear it.

Then a slight smile appeared at the corner of his mouth, "Then let's try!"
