Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 : The Jackal’s Shot

Jeff stood outside a discreet clinic on the edge of Zurich, the neon cross of a private hospital faintly glowing above. Inside, under a new identity and layers of Cipher's digital protection, Gisele was recovering. She had no idea he'd been the one to save her from the runway. For now, she was simply safe.

But Jeff didn't linger. His path was already pulling him elsewhere.

The Summon

In the quiet of his safehouse, Jeff accessed the system's new reward: the Summoning Card (Direct Designation Enabled). He slid the holographic slate into the console.

[System Command: Summon – Alex Duggan]Confirm Y/N?

Jeff smirked. "Yes."

The air shimmered. A figure materialized tall, lean, wearing dark tactical gear. His presence was calm, but his eyes were cold, calculating. A sniper through and through.

Alex Duggan, The Jackal. The man who could take out a head of state with a single bullet.

"Who the hell are you?" Alex asked, voice smooth but deadly.

"Call me Jeff. And you're here because I chose you. There's work to be done, and I need the best trigger on the planet."

Alex tilted his head, studying Jeff, then the weapons laid across the table. "I don't usually take jobs I don't choose. But this" he picked up a custom rifle, checking its balance with a practiced hand "this feels… interesting."

Jeff grinned. "You'll get your shots. And Cipher will pay more than anyone else alive."

Before the mission, Jeff returned to his machine. The matte-gray beast sat in the workshop, hungry for more.

He opened the system's Car Transformation Module. Upgrades flowed like code down his HUD:

AI Upgrade: Enhanced combat algorithms, predictive targeting, real-time adaptive driving.

Software Suite: Ghost protocol infiltration tools, cloaking subroutines, system override hacks.

All-Terrain Tires: Nano-fiber reinforced, resistant to spikes, bullets, and wear.

Weapon Systems:

Dual-mounted lasers, capable of cutting through steel plating.

Heavy grappling hook launchers for vehicles or structural takedowns.

Upgraded nitrous injection, triple-boost acceleration.

Defense: Reactive armor plating, EMP shielding, adaptive chameleon paint.

The car's AI purred through the speakers, voice smooth and confident. "Upgrades complete. Efficiency: 214%."

Jeff stroked the wheel. "Now we're ready."

Cipher's intel came through encrypted:

Target: Alpine Research Lab, Switzerland. Objective: Acquire prototype Dyson-Cell Generator designed to power a continent-wide EMP device. Status: High security, PMC guards, drone overwatch.

Jeff and Alex rolled into the Alps in silence. Snow blanketed the jagged peaks, moonlight glinting off razor cliffs. The lab sat like a fortress carved into the mountain.

From a sniper's perch, Alex unfolded his rifle, lining up guards with machine precision.

"Two on the north tower. One drone sweeping the ridge," Alex whispered. Jeff nodded, checking the HUD in his helmet synced with the car's AI. "I'll clear the ground. You take the eyes in the sky."

The mission began in fire and precision.

Alex's first shot shattered a drone mid-flight, the wreck sparking as it fell into the snow. Another guard dropped before he even knew where death came from.

Jeff roared through the gate in his transformed monster car, EMP shielding lighting up blue as the security grid collapsed. Lasers sliced through steel barriers. Grappling hooks yanked guard vehicles into the ice. Nitrous flares lit the snowfields as he tore a path straight to the lab's core.

Alarms blared. The fortress was awake.

But Jeff thrived in chaos. With Alex's cover fire cracking skulls from above, Jeff stormed the generator chamber, his modified sidearm clearing resistance in bursts of controlled fury.

At the heart of the lab, the Dyson-Cell hummed a sleek, glowing orb pulsing with raw power.

Jeff smirked. "Cipher, your battery's ready."

He sealed the core in the car's containment vault. Alex descended from his perch, calm as ever, sliding into the passenger seat.

"You do chaos well," Alex said with a hint of admiration.

Jeff grinned, flooring the nitrous. "And you do death even better. Together? We're unstoppable."

The car ripped through snow and steel as explosions tore the lab apart behind them.

The Alps echoed with fire, smoke, and the promise of a storm yet to come.
