The next morning,
As I was leaving for school,
Mom said,
"Itsuki, have you heard about the government trip?"
"Yes, Mom."
"Do you want to go?"
"Yes, Mom, definitely."
"Then if you want to go, I won't say anything."
Mom smiled.
I also left home with a smiling face.
On the Road
Everything seemed alright, but one thing was off: there was no one looking for Ryuchi or Yagami. Not even gossips or talk. It was like they didn't exist.
Same as Takumi. That day he kind of saved me. But now he vanished. There is no trace of him or anything like that.
I shouldn't worry about this, though. At least they're my enemies. But is Takumi too?
I arrived at the school gate.
Everyone seemed happy about the trip.
Many of my classmates were trying to predict the trip destination.
I looked to my right. Ryuchi is no longer there. I killed him.
But I kind of feel bad for him.
That's when Kaito put his hands on my shoulder. I looked and greeted Kaito.
"Itsuki, what do you think? Where will this trip take place?"
"I think we'll be going to France or Thailand."
"Stop dreaming, Kaito!" We laughed. I didn't think this was a joke.
Then I said, "I think we'll go to a harsh place, like a rainforest."
"Come on, Itsuki! They won't send us into jungles."
"Get your seats, everyone!" The teacher came in.
All of us sat on our seats.
"Students, I think you've already heard about the trip, so I won't explain any further. And because of this government trip, your final exams will be delayed."
Everyone became happy.
Then Sensei said, "Today a new student will join us. Make sure to be good friends with him.
Come in."
He entered the classroom. He looked above average, about five foot seven in height. He had a good aura, to be honest.
"Introduce yourself."
"Umm. My name is Renji Okabe. You can call me Renji. I am not good at anything in particular. I like to read books about survival. I will try to be a great classmate and friend."
"Okay, Renji, take your seat."
Renji walked straight to his seat and sat.
Renji was sitting in the same chair as Ryuchi. Maybe Ryuchi has left the school. Then Yagami is gone too. But I'm just wondering what the trip location is.
Then the teacher started the lesson.
At Lunch
I didn't see him talk to anyone. But he doesn't look like a bad guy, after all. Maybe I shouldn't worry much. I think everyone in my class is going willingly.
But I didn't understand one thing: Why was the trip mandatory, and what will the government get by this trip? It seems like a waste of money.
So I am thinking one thing. "Is it a trip or a trap?"
