Chapter 25 - The Return of the Gods

The sky tore open like a wound reborn.Through the golden fractures of Strange's unstable portal, the resurrected heroes stepped forward—their armor reforged in celestial fire, their spirits bound by purpose stronger than death.

Superman floated at the vanguard, the air trembling around him. His once-bright eyes now blazed with an ancient power — the combined will of countless fallen worlds.Thor stood beside him, lightning snaking from his wounds. His voice thundered across the ruins:

"The gods have returned to the realm of men."

And with that, Earth's last hope surged upward — not to defend, but to strike.

Iron Man and Batman coordinated through a single channel, their voices steady despite exhaustion.

"Strange, open the way.""Already unraveling the stars," Strange answered, his hands weaving sigils that split the skies.

The portal roared wider, swallowing what remained of the battlefield. Beyond it lay a realm between realities — the Null Expanse, where Darkseid and Thanos had forged their unholy pact.

As the heroes entered, they felt the weight of divine oppression — stars crushed into dust, galaxies folded into the palms of tyrants. At the center of it all stood the twin thrones of oblivion, carved from dying suns.On one, Darkseid, eyes glowing like burning coals. On the other, Thanos, the Gauntlet alive with every Infinity Stone pulsing in rhythm with his heart.

"Ah," Thanos rumbled, standing. "The fallen rise again. How poetic."Darkseid's lips curved slightly. "Let them witness true despair."

The war of gods began.

Thor's hammer struck Thanos' Gauntlet, sending out a shockwave that shattered moons.Superman collided with Darkseid midair, the force bending light itself. Their blows sent cosmic ripples through the Expanse.Wonder Woman clashed blades with Parademon generals while Captain Marvel unleashed photon blasts that tore through Thanos' armada.Doctor Fate, Zatanna, and Raven formed a triad of power, weaving a spell that wrapped the heroes in divine armor.

Through the chaos, Iron Man's voice broke in:

"Batman — their thrones are amplifiers! They're pulling power from the dying stars!""Then we take the stars away," Batman replied, activating a dimensional pulse charge crafted from Kryptonian tech and Stark's reactor core.

He hurled it into the void. It exploded like a second sun. The stars flickered — and for the first time, the gods bled.

Thanos roared, clutching his arm as the Gauntlet cracked.Darkseid's Omega Beams faltered, wavering.

The heroes pressed the assault, light overwhelming the dark. And then — a voice echoed across the void, deep and timeless:

"This war has gone beyond creation."

From the depths of the Expanse, The Living Tribunal appeared, its three faces blazing with judgment. "Balance must be restored. Worlds will be remade."

The gods, the heroes, the tyrants — all froze before the being of cosmic law.

The war had transcended life and death. Now, it had reached judgment.
