Grey was shocked as well as ecstatic. With the Sanguine Wellspring, he could now awaken his dormant bloodline. Probably even elevate it to the Solarian bloodline, harnessing the power of the sun and feared by the eclipse beasts, being their bane.
Grey moved near the stoup. The glowing still water was like a divine nectar, making it unable for one to control his greed.
"Let me awaken to the Solarian bloodline, please." Grey dipped his palms inside the stoup and took a handful of the wellspring water. Bringing it close to his lips, he gulped the water down his throat.
The water passed down, inducing a cool and serene sensation. Grey closed his eyes, immersing himself within that feeling of calmness and purity. All his pain, fatigue, thirst vanished altogether, giving content.
The water from the stoup moved up and started surrounding him in a whirlpool. His body started floating up. Somehow, the water increased in volume, as if there was a never-ending reservoir beneath the stoup.
Grey was now floating inside a ball of water, from the sanguine wellspring. The water seeped inside through his pores, his body started glowing bright. Intense light radiated out, like a sun had formed inside the dark spaces of the grotto.

"Nice! Just hurry and let the bloodline awaken now system." A wide smile spread on Grey's face when he saw the Solarian bloodline awakening, overwriting his original dormant bloodline.
But his happiness didn't last long as the smile vanished from his face. Confusion and anxiety taking over now, when the next system message popped out.

Grey was stunned. He didn't have a single clue that his skill works even on bloodlines. His bloodline had evolved to a rank that had never been heard of earlier. He knew that this was even above the primordial rank just with the name.
His lips twitched, trying to lift themselves up. If he had a luck stat, it would have probably be infinite. What he wanted was the mythical rank Solarian bloodline, but the bloodline that he already had was even stronger.
And now the two of them combined and evolved into a completely new bloodline, far stronger than any bloodline to have probably ever exist.
"HAHAHAHAHAHA….ARGHHHHH!!!" Grey was laughing out loud in excitement but then suddenly intense pain assaulted him out of nowhere. He felt like millions of needles were pricking him all over.

He kept on screaming throughout the process until finally it was over. The water ball burst and grey fell on the floor, water splashing everywhere.
His body was soaked completely. Groaning in pain, he slowly stood up. The stone floor of the grotto seemed distant from his vision.
He had grown taller. Even his muscles had buffed up. Though not bulky, he was no longer a lanky and thin youth.
"Argh!! This smell!" His whole body was covered in a black gooey substance. All the impurities had been ejected out of his cells.
But the smell was unbearable, it was molesting his olfactory senses.
Holding the edge of the stoup, he supported himself up. His eyes then fell on his reflection on the wellspring water.
"Fuck!" Grey cursed out as he had now grown two dagger like red horns from his temples. His canines had grown longer. Lips redder than blood, and a concentric crimson circle had formed around his pupils amid the blue iris, giving a crimson tint to the eyes.
"How the hell would I explain this? I'd be drowned in suspicion and interrogation."
"System! Is there some was to hide my demon features?" Grey asked the system with a final hope. If even the system didn't have any way, he'd be helpless then.
DING!

"Really? Let's see." Grey closed his eyes and willed inside his mind for the horns and canines to retreat back.
Just then the horns slowly retracted within his temples, and the canines grew shorter. But the crimson ring around his pupil still remained, no matter how hard he willed for, it didn't vanish.
He looked at his reflection again and finally sighed in relief. The ring in his eyes was not that major a concern, but the horns and canines were hard to explain.
He then opened his character interface.
