Joe's POV
The car ride to the office was too quiet, but my head was far too loud.
It was my first time to the main office since my coronation as the official CEO of the Biggest company in Dark Shade Pack; DSP Corporation. That aside being the Alpha, the kings had to run the business too because that was the only company allowed to do business with the humans. And only the CEO could allow other prominent members of the pack to do business with the humans too. It was supposed to be a happy day for any king, but well…not for me
Everything was off for me today. The sky was too gray. The roads looked like they were dragging themselves forward, just like my thoughts. I couldn't stop picturing the way Lily's lips had trembled when she chewed Jane's so-called gift. That look in her eyes, it stayed with me like a haunting melody on repeat.
Jane was messing with her, Jane had clearly broken her spirit. And I let it happen.
