Lily's POV
I fought hard to keep my eyes open, to stay upright, to pretend that the dizziness swirling in my head wasn't dragging me under. My lips throbbed with every breath, my joints screamed, and from the sharp, grinding pain in my left side, I was almost certain at least one rib was broken. But none of that mattered to me right now. At least not now.
Finding my mother was still the only thing that mattered.
But still… Joe's voice lingered in my ears. ' Where did he hurt you?'
