Chapter 109Joe's POV
The water was scalding hot, but it didn't burn half as much as the thoughts circling my mind.
I braced my palms against the tiled wall of the shower, my head bowed, letting the spray drum against the back of my neck. My wolf paced inside me, restless and snarling. It hadn't given me a night's rest since Lily came crashing into my orbit crying about her mother's disappearance.
Stupid, Reckless and Dangerous.
If I went through with this plan, one mistake…just one little mistake…and I'd be walking willingly into the slaughterhouse. Red Moon would carve me up like a prize kill, and Dark Shade would be next. My pack… everything I'd bled for… would be a donation.
"Then why the hell am I still doing this?" I muttered under my breath, letting the water stream down my face.
Is it for my pack? Or because of her?
