Chapter 5. Synchro Axis Introduction! Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon & Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon!
Seto Kaiba was in deep self-doubt at the same time.
The video creator "The Bride Is Mine" had already started talking about those two Fusion cards.
"The Bride Is Mine": "For Fusion cards, that's about enough.
Because the one you'll be using the most is Blue-Eyes Alternative Ultimate Dragon!"
"The Bride Is Mine": "As for Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon, Dragon Master Knight, and the like, they're merely there as the cost for Neo Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon to make consecutive attacks."
"The Bride Is Mine": "Of course, Blue-Eyes Fusions can also run Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon.
It's a good card for aggressive pushes.
Next, let's look at which cards we put in for the Synchro side."
[Card Name: Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon (Level 9)]
[Attribute: LIGHT]
[Type: Dragon]
[ATK/DEF: 2500/3000]
[Materials: 1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner Normal Monsters]
[(1): If this card is Special Summoned: Dragon monsters you currently control cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects until the end of the next turn.]
[(2): Once per turn, during your Standby Phase: You can target 1 Normal Monster in your GY; Special Summon it.]
In the next few seconds of the video, Blue-Eyes-related Synchro cards appeared.
Those silver-white cards, flashing with white light, immediately drew the eyes of several old-guard Duelists from different worlds.
So this is a white Duel Monster card they had never seen before.
What is "Synchro," anyway.
Tuner monsters, and non-Tuners.
...
Duel Monsters (DM) world.
Seto Kaiba's train of thought was instantly broken the moment this card appeared.
2500 ATK wasn't the point for him at all.
The point was this card's effect.
It could give all Dragon monsters protection from effect destruction.
That's resistance.
A rare kind of resistance that every Dragon on the field could gain.
And the Standby Phase part was even more outrageous.
Unconditional revival of a Normal Monster from the Graveyard.
Undoubtedly, it was an absolute divine tool to pair with Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
"Wait—what, this is also a Blue-Eyes ace card?"
"Kaiba! Do you know what 'Tuner' and 'non-Tuner' mean?"
"How is it Summoned—do you understand it?"
The Pharaoh, Atem, who slept within Yugi Muto, couldn't hold back at this point and took control of Yugi's body.
His barrage of questions left Seto Kaiba at a loss for words on the spot.
He wanted to say something, yet didn't know what to say.
Right.
What exactly is a Tuner monster.
"Yugi! These white cards might be an entirely new Summoning method."
"Like Fusion or Ritual."
"Tuner might be the condition."
Téa Gardner offered a calm analysis.
Joey Wheeler, who had been about to crack a joke, also cooled down.
On the other side, Ryo Bakura, Ishizu Ishtar, Marik Ishtar, and the others all frowned.
Tuner monsters, huh.
...…
GX world.
Jaden Yuki scratched the back of his head.
Just seeing these white cards already gave him a headache.
He only loved Fusion HERO monsters,
so of course he couldn't make heads or tails of this "Synchro" thing.
"Mamma mia!"
"These cards look just like the fake ones made by street peddlers!"
"When did Duel Monsters start having white cards!"
"How did I not know that!"
Dr. Vellian Crowler clutched his head and went off.
He said that with his mouth,
but in his heart, he knew perfectly well these white cards had to be real.
"Yeah."
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon is the ace monster of President Kaiba's deck."
"And even President Kaiba has never used this."
"Then this is…"
Alexis Rhodes covered her mouth.
Her voice was already full of confusion and bewilderment.
"Heh heh heh."
"An amusing set of alternative cards and Duel rules."
"I want to see what combos Blue-Eyes White Dragon gets with these white cards."
Zane Truesdale only let out a cold chuckle.
He wasn't all that surprised by the cards that had just shown up.
...…
5D's world.
Yusei Fudo and Jack Atlas exchanged a look.
Coming from a world different from the two above, they naturally understood the strength of this Synchro card.
"Not bad in power.
Dragons get a big boost by running it."
"It does require Normal Monsters, though."
"And the Level is quite high."
Yusei Fudo murmured a few lines to himself, still analyzing in his head.
"Don't rush it, Yusei."
"This person also introduces another card."
"The next one seems to be…?"
"Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon!"
Akiza Izinski pointed at the data screen on the D-Wheel.
Sure enough, just as she said, another Synchro ace for the Blue-Eyes lineup appeared.
[Card Name: Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon (Level 9)]
[Attribute: LIGHT]
[Type: Dragon]
[ATK/DEF: 2500/3000]
And this Blue-Eyes Synchro, the power it brought left quite a few Duelists dumbfounded on the spot.
Effect 1: While it's on the field, both players are limited to Special Summoning no more than 1 monster at the same time.
Effect 2: Once per turn, you can negate the activation of a card effect that activates in the GY.
Effect 3: During either player's turn, as a Quick Effect, you can Tribute this card to Special Summon 1 LIGHT Dragon Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck in Defense Position.
Unfortunately, that monster is destroyed during the End Phase of that turn.
These three effects immediately made the Blue-Eyes expert, Seto Kaiba, think of the earlier Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon.
"Could it be!"
"Use Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon to tag out into Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon on the opponent's turn!"
"Then with Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, you can ignore self-destruction and self-restraint!"
"Come to your own turn!"
"You can even pull a Normal Monster from the Graveyard—meaning Blue-Eyes White Dragon—back to the field!"
That string of words made Yugi Muto, Mai Valentine, and Joey Wheeler all jolt in unison.
What a terrifying combo.
You can even play it like that.
It can also check the Graveyard.
How is this not getting nerfed.
Only then did the other Duelists slowly catch on.
In an instant, a single frame from this short video left Duelists across six Duel Worlds utterly silent, plunged into boundless quiet.
