Chapter 11. Explosive Multi-Archetype HERO Showcase! HERO Players Cry!
A Destiny HERO search turns into a Masked HERO.
That already shows mixing archetypes may not be so simple!
But the key reason everyone changes their minds isn't that first line.
Instead, it's the second combo line from the video creator—the noble HERO player!
The noble HERO player: "Line 1 is the painful line. After getting interrupted, you can only preserve a minimal floor like that."
The noble HERO player: "Next, let's look at Line 2 with no bricks and no interruptions!"
The noble HERO player: "I believe that after watching, you'll see things differently."
After saying that, the Duel view appears.
The second combo line starts, and the creator's commentary begins.
"If you open with Elemental HERO Stratos, don't overthink it. Normal Summon Stratos right away."
"Then we activate Stratos's effect."
"When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can choose 1 of 2 effects!"
"One, destroy Spells/Traps on the field up to the number of other 'HERO' monsters you control, which helps clear backrow."
"Two, add 1 'HERO' monster from the Deck to your hand—note, it says 'HERO'!"
"We search Vision HERO Faris. If you already have it in hand, search something else."
"Next, activate Faris. Discard any 'HERO' from your hand to Special Summon Faris."
"Faris triggers to place Vision HERO Increase from the Deck face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone."
"Increase triggers. Tribute Faris to Special Summon itself from the Spell & Trap Zone, then Special Summon Vision HERO Vyon from the Deck."
"Vyon triggers. Send Destiny HERO – Malicious from the Deck to the Graveyard, then banish a 'HERO' from your Graveyard to add Polymerization from the Deck."
"That's the most basic HERO line up to here. I think every HERO player can do this, right?"
"If you can't, then don't play HERO."
"..."
Silence.
A deathly silence.
Yes.
It's not the video that's silent.
It's every Duelist across the Duel Worlds!
Duel Monsters world.
Even Seto Kaiba is captivated by this seamless sequence.
He's already slack-jawed and speechless.
Yugi Muto and Pharaoh Atem blink, their blank stares practically saying: they didn't get it at all!
How did the field suddenly have three HERO monsters standing there?
And how did the Graveyard stack up so many pieces already?
Joey Wheeler, shocked, suddenly snaps back to attention!
Isn't this the interaction of multiple archetypes?
No way—it actually works!
…
GX world.
HERO players Jaden Yuki and Aster Phoenix are crying!
Yes!
HERO players really are about to cry!
This "basic line"!
Is that something every HERO player "knows"?
No!
Then what does that make them?
What does that make their HERO decks?
You're calling this "basic"?
This is "basic"?
What is Elemental HERO Stratos?
What is Vision HERO Faris?
What is Vision HERO Increase?
And what the heck is Vision HERO Vyon?
These cards!
They've never even heard of them!
This completely exceeds Jaden Yuki and Aster Phoenix's frame of reference!
"This is HERO? You call this HERO? Three monsters pulled out in one breath?"
"Whoa! Isn't this stronger than Jaden Yuki and the pro duelist Aster Phoenix? This is my first time seeing this!"
"Multi-archetype sequencing is terrifying! Just these steps already involve Destiny HERO, Vision HERO, and Elemental HERO! If you have Mask Change, you can even go into Masked HERO!"
"Man! That's a bit ridiculous! And this definitely isn't the final board, right? You can keep going!"
"..."
Voices pile on one after another.
Alexis Rhodes, Zane Truesdale, Bastion Misawa, Syrus Truesdale, and the others all look at Jaden Yuki and Aster Phoenix with strange expressions.
Those looks make the two of them flush red.
But there's nothing they can do!
Because they've never seen HERO lines like this either.
...
5D's world.
Seeing that this engine doesn't need a Synchro package at all, Yusei Fudo, Jack Atlas, Akiza Izinski, and the others fall silent.
In their worldview, having a Synchro axis is mainstream.
For example, Blue-Eyes White Dragon has Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon and Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon.
That at least is worth a look.
But this HERO deck— even without Synchro, it can explode like this.
That demands a re-evaluation!
"There's always someone stronger, and there's always another deck outside your deck."
"The decks of that world truly can't be underestimated."
"HERO, huh?"
"Leo and Luna, it seems it would suit you two."
Yusei Fudo teases Leo and Luna next to him.
The siblings both shake their heads.
"Forget it! We think our decks are more interesting."
"I just can't get into HERO."
Leo pouts and waves it off.
But in his heart, the desire is held back by the complexity of the operations.
Yes.
It looks hard!
And this is still the basic line!
How are we supposed to play like this?
