Chapter 38 - Chapter 38. Final Dark Magician Summary! Unlocking GX World Chat!

Chapter 38. Final Dark Magician Summary! Unlocking GX World Chat!

The concept of accelerated Link Summoning.

For the entire Link era, that's actually a brand-new idea.

At least, it is for the first-generation Link world.

Yusaku Fujiki took a sharp breath and slowly exhaled.

Even as the protagonist of a Link world, he was captivated by the scene of an accelerated Link into Knightmare Unicorn.

"So that's it—accelerated linking?"

"It's a fresh line of play."

"Put together properly,"

"you can interrupt at Quick Effect speed on the opponent's turn."

"..."

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World.

The one who felt it first wasn't Yusei Fudo.

It was Bruno, proficient in Accel Synchro and the T.G. (Tech Genus) Deck.

In that build,

there are multiple Synchro Monsters that enable Accel Synchro.

Precisely because of that,

when Bruno saw Link plays that could "accelerate" as well,

besides strangeness, a touch of familiarity surfaced in his heart.

At this moment,

Yusei Fudo—who had yet to fully learn Accel Synchro—had already noticed Bruno's change in expression.

"Bruno, right?"

"You look very familiar with this kind of operation."

"Don't tell me you understand Links too?"

Yusei's words cut off Bruno's contemplation.

Coming back to himself, Bruno shook his head.

"No, I don't understand Links."

"But, Yusei,"

"did you know?"

"Our Synchro can also perform Accel Synchro."

"As long as you master tuning that surpasses the speed of light,"

"we can perform Synchro beyond the speed of light."

"...…."

Bruno's words made Yusei Fudo, Kalin Kessler, Jack Atlas, and the others all jolt.

What did he mean?

Synchro?

It can also be done as Accel Synchro?

Impossible!

How could that be!

If Synchro wants to accelerate, what condition must be met?

"How do you do that?"

"Kid, you're not just pulling our legs, are you!"

Crow Hogan, a little anxious, grabbed Bruno by the collar.

Bruno didn't answer.

His gaze turned to the Turbo Duel screen.

As if to tell them,

they would understand later.

...

Duel Monsters World.

The old guard who now fully understood Dark Magician were already unable to sit still.

Even Seto Kaiba wanted to challenge Sei Yuki.

That world's Dark Magician,

somehow looks a bit stronger than his Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

Why not run Links in the Blue-Eyes deck?

No—

maybe that's actually possible?

Thinking of this, Seto Kaiba narrowed his eyes, a bold idea bubbling up in his mind.

After Yugi Muto discussed it with the Pharaoh within,

they agreed on one thing.

They would ask Sei Yuki for his thoughts on Dark Magician deckbuilding.

As a resident of that higher world,

he would naturally have his own unique way of thinking about Dueling.

"Mr. Sei Yuki, the video is over," said Yugi Muto.

"But I'd still like to ask you for a summary,"

"a full summary of the Dark Magician engine."

...

Main World.

A bullet comment from Yugi Muto soon popped up in the DM chat group.

After reading it, Sei Yuki thought for a moment and immediately gave his summary and evaluation of Dark Magician construction.

"Dark Magician needs three cards to get going," said Sei Yuki. "In our world, bricking is the norm. If you've got Yugi and the Pharaoh's miracle topdecks, 'printed' cards, and hand-waving by speech—well, that's another story."

"Next, the core is Dark Magician plus Dark Magical Circle,"

"Magician's Rod fetches Circle, Magicians' Souls pulls Dark Magician, and Illusion of Chaos fetches Rod and Souls."

"At first glance that sounds strong—there are powerful searches across the board—but in practice they're one-for-one trades, so you don't really plus."

"Sure, with some resilience it can bounce back and forth, but the engine is big: if you don't run non-archetype tech, it's weak; if you do, you brick. That's my overall take on Dark Magician."

Sei Yuki laid out everything he'd gathered from the video,

combined with his own experience piloting Dark Magician in the past.

Those words left Yugi Muto and Pharaoh Atem silent and pensive.

Miracle topdecks, "printed" cards, and hand-waving by speech?

What did those mean?

Were those the other world's labels for him and Atem?

Were those compliments or criticisms?

Yugi and Atem found themselves thinking less about Dark Magician,

and more about those three phrases.

"Whew! I don't fully get it, but it sounds like Dark Magician isn't for just anyone!" said Joey Wheeler.

"Understandable," said Mai Valentine. "A deck like that is one only Yugi can truly handle."

"I've always believed in Yugi!" said Téa Gardner. "If he had Mr. Sei's Dark Magician deck from that world, he'd be even stronger!"

"Hmph! Just a bunch of clowns," scoffed Seto Kaiba. "Remember this—Blue-Eyes White Dragon will always knock Dark Magician flat!"

...

Sei Yuki ignored the torrent of bullet comments in the DM group.

Because after watching the Dark Magician video,

he had already received the 2,000.

GX World could now be unlocked.

After experiencing the DM World's unlocked features,

whether real or not,

Sei Yuki understood that the people in the chat were anything but ordinary.

Whether they were the ones from the anime,

or people pretending to be them,

they were worth the money to unlock.

At the very least, watching shorts wouldn't be boring.

He could also see those guys' shocked expressions and remarks.

Why not enjoy it?

[Would user Sei Yuki like to spend 2,000 to unlock the GX World feature?]

"Yes."

[Congratulations, user Sei Yuki has successfully unlocked GX World.]
