Chapter 51. RR Outrageous Tech! Shay Obsidian Tilted!
Two Xyz Monsters.
They already brought enough of a power spike.
But the Red-Eyes Xyz package isn't over yet.
Yes.
The Red-Eyes Xyz package is still being explained.
Red-Dad yyds: "After seeing these, you think that's all?"
Red-Dad yyds: "No, no, no.
This is only the beginning."
Red-Dad yyds: "In a Red-Eyes Deck, you can run a lot of interesting Xyz Monsters."
"Which brings us to this card."
"Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon."
[Card Name: Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon (Rank 7)]
[Attribute: DARK]
[Type: Winged Beast]
[ATK/DEF: 2500/2000]
Effect 1.
Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to Special Summon 1 Level 4 Winged Beast from your Deck.
A simple and blunt way to pull a monster from the Deck.
Any Winged Beast works.
Effect 2.
If this card has "Raidraptor" monsters as Xyz Material, during a Battle Phase it can attack up to that many times.
It provides the possibility of multiple attacks.
But it needs RR.
If you run it in Red-Eyes, that part clearly isn't important.
Effect 3.
If this card that had a "Raidraptor" monster as Xyz Material is sent to the Graveyard: Special Summon 1 "Raidraptor" Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck, except "Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon," then attach this card to it as material.
That part involves Raidraptor.
In other words, it's tied to the Raidraptor archetype's Xyz follow-ups.
Obviously, that third effect doesn't seem particularly important at first glance.
So then—
What's actually usable?
Isn't it just Effect 1?
No?
Then why run this card at all?
If you can't use much of its text, why include it?
Duelists across the six Duel Worlds all wore puzzled expressions as they stared at this card.
…
Duel Monsters World.
Even Seto Kaiba frowned.
A Dragon Deck's Extra Deck finisher actually includes such a neither-here-nor-there card.
As expected, a third-rate deck is ultimately just a third-rate deck.
It won't be making many waves.
"Huh?
This card doesn't have anything to do with the Red-Eyes Deck, right?"
"Did the video creator mess up?"
"Does running this card actually help Red-Eyes?"
Joey Wheeler blinked repeatedly.
His confused gaze made it clear he couldn't understand what this card was for.
Everything before was understandable.
But this?
...
GX World.
Atticus Rhodes didn't understand either.
Or rather, the other students and teachers couldn't make sense of it at all.
"Uh, this is the Red-Eyes Deck, right?
This Xyz only has one effect you can use, and it's for summoning a Winged Beast.
Are you sure it belongs here?"
"I want to ask the same.
If you're only using one of three effects, there's no need to run it, right?"
"Not necessarily.
Didn't the earlier build include lots of weird cards?"
"Yeah, but can any expert explain what this off-archetype card is doing here?"
"...…."
The discussions rose one after another.
Atticus Rhodes was a bit embarrassed.
Even Jaden Yuki looked baffled at this point.
Isn't this completely neither fish nor fowl?
Wait.
Something feels off.
This card doesn't just have one effect that can be used.
Its third effect seems usable too.
Because the next card that surfaced was—
"Raidraptor - Rising Rebellion Falcon."
[Card Name: Raidraptor - Rising Rebellion Falcon (Rank 13)]
[Attribute: DARK]
[Type: Winged Beast]
[ATK/DEF: 4000/3500]
[Materials: 5 Level 13 Winged Beast monsters]
[①: If this card is Xyz Summoned: Destroy as many cards your opponent controls as possible.
After that, if this card has 3 or more "Raidraptor" Xyz Monsters with different names as material, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the total original ATK of the monsters destroyed by this effect.]
Master Duel Meta
[②: This face-up card is unaffected by other cards' effects.]
Master Duel Meta
[③: Once per turn: You can detach 3 materials from this card, then target 1 "Raidraptor" Xyz Monster in your Graveyard; this card gains that monster's effects until the End Phase.]
Master Duel Meta
Placing "Raidraptor - Rising Rebellion Falcon" side by side with "Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon," the duelists across the six Duel Worlds fell into silence.
"Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon" isn't the clown.
Turns out the ones who thought running "Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon" made you a clown were themselves the clowns.
Putting "Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon" into Red-Eyes—
maybe the point isn't Effect 1 at all.
Maybe it's this card's third effect.
Once "Raidraptor - Arsenal Falcon" is destroyed, it can immediately and absurdly pull out "Raidraptor - Rising Rebellion Falcon."
And it's a terrifying Rank 13—
a 4000-ATK body with godlike protection.
Absolutely outrageous.
So that's the real objective?
Bait the opponent into destroying Arsenal Falcon, then pull out Rising Rebellion Falcon.
Was that guy's true aim all along?
The old guard of the original series hadn't started breaking down yet.
The first to start breaking down—
was the ARC-V World.
Xyz Dimension.
Shay Obsidian could hardly stay seated and almost stumbled to the floor.
What the heck?!
Aren't these all his Raidraptor cards?
No.
These are Raidraptor cards even he never possessed.
What's going on with that higher world?
Why can they have such powerful RR cards?
"Shay Obsidian, this… this?"
"Huh???"
"Rank 13, 'Raidraptor - Rising Rebellion Falcon'?"
"What kind of card is that?
Do you have that kind of power?"
Yuto's eyes went wide, his mouth hanging open.
He seemed even more shocked than Shay Obsidian.
"I… I don't know."
"I thought it was just some clownish deck."
"But this RR they're running—"
"This 'Raidraptor - Rising Rebellion Falcon,' what even is—"
"What is it?"
"...."
Shay Obsidian's reaction made it painfully clear he didn't understand this two-card RR combo at all.
He could even be sure he'd never seen such a combo before.
Seeing Shay Obsidian like this, Yuto was about to lose his composure too.
So even Shay doesn't know about Rising Rebellion Falcon?
He's a Raidraptor user, you know.
