We stopped in front of a gas station and got out of our vehicles.
Hmmm... I can hear some humans whispering to each other. My gaze flickered towards the departmental store, which was beside the gas station. If I am correct, there was a human on the roof.
"Be quick everyone. We have to leave this place as soon as possible," said Bernard.
I gave him an unimpressed look. Why was he stating the obvious?
"Zombies! There are three of them." yelled Lisa. She was holding a pipe in her hands.
Bernard's face turned serious. He ordered, "I will kill them. You all should fill the tanks and guard our vehicles. Don't let any zombie near it. Valeria, stay with them."
I nodded and hid behind Yusuf, who was extremely happy that I... 'hid' behind him. Yuck! His face is really hideous. But forget that! I am really looking forward to see how Bernard's ability works.
A very disgusting smell entered my nose when the zombies appeared in my range of sight. Until now, I was trying to ignore that... 'putrid' smell... but now I can't. Being a vampire sucks! I haven't smelled anything bad like this in my entire life.
"Grrrr... grrr... grrrr..."

The zombies reached near Bernard, who was looking at them with eyes full of vigilance. Their bodies were rotten. Growling was the only sound they could release. Their pupils were white. There were scratches and bitten marks on their bodies. Two of them had their intestines hanging out of their bodies. Their faces were covered up in blood, and their nails had human flesh stuck in them.
I tried hard not to puke. For me, it was a horrendous sight! Three humans... who could have my food... were in this 'state.' It saddened my heart. Humans fear them, but in my eyes... they are just 'rotten' food. The only thing they could hurt, is my nose.
Bernard raised his hands and two daggers made of ice appeared. He immediately threw them towards two zombies.
The daggers lodged inside their heads, instantly killing them. Just as he killed them, he was shot right in his chest.
Bernard's eyes widened in confusion and fear, and he fell on the ground.
"BERNARD!" yelled Lisa. Just as she tried to run towards him, another two gunshots were heard. Yusuf and the other man with gun, fell on the ground. Then, the remaining zombie was shot.
Fresh blood's smell entered my nose, which improved my state. Thank you, the man with a sniper... for preventing me from puking.
Suddenly, several men surrounded us. They each had a gun in their hands. I already knew they were hiding, waiting for the right moment. Lisa, Coward, and Ginger... except me, were the only survivors.
Lisa had a murderous look on her face. If not for Ginger, she would have attacked them... or, tried to attack them, only for her to die from their hands. But something tells me that they won't kill us.
"YOU! LET ME GO!" Lisa tried to release herself from Ginger's hold, "I WILL KILL THEM! BERNARD! NO, NO, NO! NO! BERNARD, CAN YOU HEAR ME?! NO! NO, NO!" Tears were streaming down her face. It was obvious that she liked Bernard.
Do I feel sorry for her?
No, I don't. Bernard died, so what? Wait... I could still hear Bernard's faint heartbeat. It looks like he is still alive.
I threw him a last look before turning towards the group of 'strangers.'
A man, whose face was full of scars, lowered his gun. He ordered, "Bring those three women inside. As for the man... kill him." Coward was shot in the head and killed by his 'subordinate.'
Two men grabbed Lisa and Ginger, forcing them to follow their lead. They were taken inside the store. A man walked towards me and grabbed my arm tightly. I allowed him to grab me, and let him take me inside the store.

My hands were tied behind the back, and my mouth was gagged. Apparently, they decided to tie us all before they could talk to one of us. Lisa's mouth was also gagged, who has been sobbing for least an hour. One of the men walked towards Ginger and removed the gag from her mouth.
Coughing, Ginger asked, "W-what do you p-plan to do... with us?"
The scarred man shrugged, "Isn't that obvious? I am planning to sell you," his words made Lisa cease her sobbing, "I am just a 'collector.' My job is to collect beautiful men and women... and sell them to wealthy clients." He was the leader of these men, I guess.
Ginger's face widened in fear. Her body started trembling and she couldn't utter anything.
Aside from these men, there was a woman as well. She walked towards us and crouched near me. Her hand grabbed my chin, while her eyes analysed my face.
The scarred man asked, "Aska, what are you doing?"
Aska replied, "Nothing, Tucco. This one... is too exotic. I haven't seen anyone like this in my entire life. At first, I thought she had dyed her hair... but her hair is really silver in colour. And her body... is really alluring. Everything is perfect!"
Tucco, the scarred man, gave me smirk and said, "She will fetch us a very good deal. We can even auction her off. She can change our lives!" he turned towards Lisa, "as for her... even a mediocre deal will be okay," he towards me again, "don't let her get 'damaged.' She is our golden ticket, and I don't want anyone or anything to destroy our future."
"Alright, Boss," said Aska. She stood up and looked into everyone's eyes. She said, "You heard, Tucco, right? I want everyone to know that if any of you 'damage' her... I will kill all of you. As for the woman with ginger hair... you can play with her."
Ginger looked at Aska with horrified eyes. She stuttered, "H-h-how... c-can... y-you... e-even... s-say this?! You a-are... a-also... a woman..."
Aska smirked, "Sorry, I about this but... I don't give a damn. People like you can be exploited only by the powerful ones. You should be grateful that we didn't kill you. Although, your face isn't good... your body is. Use it to your advantage. I am sure a lot of people will keep you as their 'whore.' Am I correct?"
Ginger was speechless. Her eyes were full of disbelief. At that moment, she bit Aska. A pretty useless tactic.
Aska yelled in pain and punched Ginger's face, knocking her out. She yelled, "Bitch! Take them and throw inside the cell! Don't give them food or water, unless I tell you." With that, she stomped her foot on the ground and walked away.
