Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

"Yui, is it okay?" Akira looked down at Yuigahama Yui in his arms, concern softening his voice.

"Mhm" Yui understood his meaning immediately, and her cheeks flushed a deep red.

"Thank you for your hard work. But… there's one thing that makes me feel relieved," Akira said with a faint smile.

"What's that?" Yui asked, looking up at him curiously.

"If we ever have a child, the child won't go hungry," he whispered into her ear.

"Akira-kun!" Yui's ears turned crimson at his words.

"Okay, I'm leaving now. You go back inside," Akira said gently, releasing her from his hold.

"... Be careful on the road," Yui said softly.

Akira turned and began to walk away.

After a few steps, he waved lightly at her.

Yui smiled and waved back, her small hand trembling slightly. Only when she saw him disappear around the corner did she turn around to find that her Mother, Yuigahama Asuna was watching her with a gentle, knowing smile.

"Mom…" Yui murmured, a little shy.

"Yui, tell me about him," Asuna said softly, covering her mouth as she smiled.

"Ok…" Yui walked into the house, her face still tinged with red.

.....

Sakurasou,

By the time Akira returned to Sakurasou, it was already eight o'clock in the evening.

The light in Shizuka Hiratsuka's room was still on.

Akira slowly walked upstairs, his movements quiet and deliberate.

Once he returned to his own room, he set his bag on the sofa, picked up a can of drink, and moved to his desk. He sat in his chair, opened the drink, and took a few sips.

After setting the can aside, he pulled out the manuscript paper he had bought and began writing.

.....

Story of Magical Girl—

It begin with a dream, a young girl saw a world on the brink of collapse. She witnessed a battle between another black-haired girl and an enemy. Seeing that the black-haired girl could not win, she made a choice: to become a magical girl herself.

Then, she woke up.

It felt like a dream—but also not entirely.

Because soon after, she met the black-haired girl again and came into contact with the magical girl world.

Originally, she and her friends believed that becoming magical girls meant they could do anything.

But the reality was cruel—

The senior died in battle, watching this happen in front of them filling the young girls heart with fear.

They would have perished too, if not for the black-haired girl's timely rescue.

After escaping, their enthusiasm for becoming magical girls waned.

But, Fate cannot be avoided.

Her friends eventually became magical girls, learning the harsh realities of their new lives from others who had taken the same path.

The Path filled with despair.

The black-haired girl's identity was revealed with the truth behind the world were revealed.

Once again, facing a world on the brink of collapse—this time, the stakes were real.

She chose to become a magical girl, making a wish no one had dared before.

Thus, the Law of the Circle was born.

The world was saved.

The magical girls no longer despaired.

And she ascended to godhood beyond all comprehension.

Yet, she was forgotten by everyone—except for the black-haired girl with special abilities.

The story concluded there.

...

Akira glanced at the clock. It had taken him three hours to complete this simplified version. Of course, once every character's story was fully detailed, it would take considerably more time, with different Arc, Characters development, Adventure, etc.

He looked over the few pages of manuscript, and yawned, as he felt his eyelids growing heavy.

Sleepiness began to tug at him.

.....

The next morning,

Akira arrived at the school gate and saw that Yukinoshita Yukino waiting.

As Yukinoshita approach him, he took out the manuscript from last night.

After, Yukinoshita came near him and stood directly in front of him.

He silently passed her the manuscript.

She accepted them and placed them neatly inside her bag.

Neither of them spoke, they don't need to, as a silent understanding passing between them.

After changing shoes at the shoe cabinet, Akira went upstairs.

In the classroom, he had just taken his seat when Yuigahama Yui approached with a lunch box.

"Mom said that from now on, Fugimiya-kun doesn't need to bring his own lunch," Yui said softly, placing the lunch box (bento) in front of him.

"Tomorrow, I'll bring a box of snacks when I visit," Akira replied, glancing at the lunch box and putting it aside.

"Mhm…" Yui blushed slightly, her gaze lingering on him.

"I've already finished writing the script for the game. Now it depends on what Yukinoshita-san thinks about it."

"The story of a magical girl?" Yui asked, remembering last night's conversation.

"Yes… the story of a magical girl," he said with a small smile.

In this world, there were many excellent works about magical girls, but nearly all were aimed at children. A few light novels had unique ideas, but their details were often trimmed before publication. The theme had largely been forgotten.

Akira wondered what Yukinoshita's expression would be when she read the beginning of the story.

The thought made him quietly excited.

.....

When Yukinoshita Yukino entered the classroom, she immediately took out several pages of Akira's manuscript and began reading.

At the appearance of the magical girl, she frowned slightly.

"Isn't this… for kids?" she muttered.

But when the black-haired girl from the dream appeared and joined the protagonist, she was intrigued.

The story was far from simple.

Then she saw the death of the senior, and her expression changed, as she continue reading.

The black-haired girl's timely rescue drew her attention.

As the narrative progressed—

The cruel truth about magical girls became clear.

The cruel fate, the cycle of suffering and the looming disaster.

Her heart wavered as she continue to read the story.

"That man… actually wrote something this cruel…" she whispered to herself.

She fell silent for sometime.

After, which she continue to read the story again, her mind filled with thought about what will happen.

And then — the Protagonist made an unprecedented wish.

The Law of Circles was born.

The magical girls no longer despaired.

The price was — for her to be forgotten by everyone.

The story ended.

.....

By the time Yukinoshita Yukino finished reading, first class was over.

The teacher hadn't called on her—her grades meant no one need to be worried.

She glanced at the manuscript pages before her.

Her evaluation was thorough.

The story began with a dream, introduced a black-haired girl, magical girls, the cost of fulfilling wishes, and hope amid despair. Concepts like the law of circles and reincarnation were interwoven seamlessly.

'If this could be made into an animation… it would probably be amazing,' she thought to herself.

She took out her phone, hesitated for a moment, and sent a message.

Minutes later, her phone rang.

After stepping out of the Classroom and finding a quit place, she answer the call.

"Yukino, you suddenly asked about animation production. Planning to make one? I don't recall this being your hobby," Yukinoshita Haruno voice could be heard from the phone.

"Fujimiya-kun wrote the script. We initially planned to make it a game, but it would be a waste to limit it to a game. If production isn't too expensive, I intend to fund an animation adaptation," Yukino said calmly.

"It shouldn't be a problem for Fujimiya-kun. From the information that I've gathered, his parents left him one billion yen, that he has not even touched yet," Haruno replied thoughtfully.

"I see, I'll discuss it with him. If we decide to make an animation, I'll also invest. I really like this story," Yukino said.

"I'm curious about the story, but I'm busy right now. If Fujimiya-kun truly wants to invest in the animation, I can help make contacts and assist with production," Haruno said, the sound of flipping papers faintly audible.

"....Thank you," Yukino replied after some hesitation.

"You're welcome. I'm just happy that you reached out to me~"

"Class is about to start—I'll hang up now," Yukino ended the call without waiting for any response.

.....

Lunchtime,

During lunchbreak, Akira and Yui made their way to the Service Club.

Upon entering, Yukinoshita Yukino could be seen writing something at the desk.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, she lifted her head and meet Akira's gaze.

"Is that… your evil taste?"

"You mean the Senpai's death," Akira reply, understanding the reason behind her question.

Yukino glanced at the pages, recalling the senior's death. Initially, it seemed strange—but she soon realized that it was all intentional, a necessary part of the story.

"I want to adapt it into an anime. If you need investment, I can provide 100 million yen. You can either partner with me or sell me the script completely," Yukino said seriously.

"How much does producing an anime cost?" Akira asked, curious.

"Based on my research, one episode costs 10–30 million yen with most being 10–15 million. Productions exceeding 20 million per episode are usually exceptional," Yukino replied.

"So, a twelve-episode series would cost about 200 million yen?" Akira said, surprised.

He wasn't shocked by the cost.

Instead, he thought 200 million was worth it to create a work akin to Puella Magi Madoka—a masterpiece that.

In his previous world, it was ranked among the top ten in CD sales and had won numerous awards.

There was no doubt: producing this anime could bring profits tenfold, or even a hundredfold.
