The young man finds himself suspended in the middle of the white void, even though he was certain he had just died. Before he could overcome his shock, a deep voice echoing in the void calls his name for the first time after a long pause.
"Kael."
"Who is there? Who called out to me?"
A deep sense of unease and fear washes over the young man. The voice repeats even louder:
"Kael. I have been waiting for you for a long time."
"Who are you? How do you know me? Show yourself!"
Suddenly, a ball of light, even brighter than the white void, appears. The light is nearly blinding Kael. Slowly, the ball of light takes the silhouette of a woman in the void, but she is more than twenty meters tall, and the wings on her back span about fifteen meters. The sight undoubtedly terrifies Kael and fills him with dread. Barely gathering himself, he calls out to the entity before him.
"And what are you? What kind of thing are you?"
"I am the envoy responsible for taking you to the place you belong and guiding you. In your terms, I am an angel."
"What are you talking about? Where is this 'place you belong,' and furthermore, were you the one who immobilized me right before I died?"
"Calm down a little, I will explain everything. First of all, a thousand years ago, you were supposed to be sent to a planet in another universe as the 6th Hero. However, you fell into the inter-universal void and drifted for about a thousand years. Finally, you were born on a planet in a different universe."
"Well, why did you take me now? Where were you while I was suffering so much?"
"Normally, we had no intention of intervening with you, but your very existence was disrupting the operation of the universe you were in. That is why you had to die."
"So what happens to me now? Am I just going to disappear?"
"You will go to the place you belong, the place you were meant to go from the very beginning. Of course, they don't need a hero there anymore. Still, the choice is yours. You can either conceal your status as a hero or not."
"What exactly would happen if I didn't conceal it?"
"You've hit on a good point. Exactly, they would force you to have children with dozens of women, and then they would deify you and worship you."
"That sounds like a problem. I'd rather have a peaceful life then."
"As I said, it is up to you. Also, the place you are going to is not like the one you lived in before; technologically, they are considered to be in the Middle Ages of your former world, but powers such as magic and charms are common, and there are quite strong and dangerous monsters. Besides those, there are also races like demons, vampires, elves, dragons, dwarves, and half-humans."
"Well, what will I be, in terms of species?"
"You will learn that in time. For now, this is what you need to know; the rest will be explained by a special system. Let's go. Safe travels."
The angel vanishes with a bright flash, and Kael's eyes slowly close.
