When Di Tian heard Gu Xun's command, he was utterly dumbfounded. He was about to undergo the divine tribulation—why would his master have him stay beneath this tower?
"My lord, this..."
Di Tian hesitated. Gu Xun glanced at him and said.
"What are you hesitating for? Do you think I'd harm you?"
"Yes..."
Resigned to his fate, Di Tian sat cross-legged beneath the tower, channeling his spirit power in preparation to withstand the divine tribulation.
All the fierce beasts watched him nervously, deeply concerned for his safety.
But in the very next instant, a bolt of thunder struck the lightning rod atop the tower.
Di Tian had already activated his spirit power shield, only to find it completely unaffected. Stunned, he peered over to see several more bolts of divine tribulation striking the tower.
"Master, what kind of artifact is this? How can it withstand the divine tribulation?"
Di Tian suddenly understood—Gu Xun had made him stay here specifically to help him pass the tribulation.
"Lightning Tower. Any spirit beasts needing to pass their tribulation can come here in the future. Just remember not to disturb my sleep."
"Truly worthy of being our Lord!"
Di Tian's eyes lit up at these words, filled with admiration for Gu Xun. I knew the Lord wouldn't harm me! How could I have doubted him? I deserve to die!
The other fierce beasts were equally stunned. Who would have thought Gu Xun could casually construct a divine tower capable of aiding spirit beasts through the divine tribulation?
The commotion of Di Tian's tribulation drew the attention of all living beings on Elf Planet. The Elf Queen herself arrived with several Elf Tribe members to investigate.
Seeing that it was Di Tian undergoing the tribulation, she was greatly surprised. Wasn't the Beast God supposed to undergo his tribulation in several more years? How could it have come early?
Soon, as the divine tribulation dissipated, Di Tian's cultivation level reached the God King tier, with sinister divine power surging through his hands.
"Now I lack nothing!"
Di Tian was now incredibly excited. He had originally been a Level One God, which was why he could serve as the Dragon God's personal guard captain.
After arriving on the Douluo Planet, his cultivation had been suppressed to the peak of the quasi-god realm. Now, not only had he returned to his peak, but he had also reached the God King realm.
All of this was granted by the Lord. Thinking of this, Di Tian immediately approached Gu Xun and bowed in respect.
"Thank you, Master."
"Hmm, that's enough. I'm just a lowly spirit master now, and this is all I can do for the moment. I'm tired."
When Ditian endured the thunder tribulation, it nearly blinded Gu Xun, and the fierce beasts all winced.
What did he mean, "just a lowly spirit master" and "this is all I can do"? That couldn't be right. What spirit master could accomplish such feats?
"Yes, Master. I shall arrange accommodations for you immediately."
[Ten minutes later]
Gu Xun arrived at the lakeside cottage. The place was quite decent, comparable to a luxury villa.
Seeing that night had fallen, Gu Xun washed up and went to bed, while Di Tian conversed with the Elf Queen.
But Gu Xun's consciousness once again sank into a familiar realm, a familiar place, familiar faces.
"Here again."
Gu Xun crossed his arms, staring at Lan Xuanyu before him. Lan Xuanyu scratched his head with a smile.
"We meet again. I feel like we're destined to cross paths."
"Maybe. I'm bored. Wanna play a game?"
Gu Xun spoke as he downloaded a modern furniture mod, then pulled out a laptop, a console, and stacks of single-player game discs.
"Games? We can play games in the dream realm?"
"Yep. You in or not?"
"Hell yeah! I've never played games before!"
"Hey Gu Xun, where do you go to school?"
"School? There are no Spirit Master academies on Elf Planet."
"Huh? You don't go to school?"
"Is that the point? Also, how did you get solo-killed by the AI? Can you stop throwing?"
"Um... it was my first time playing."
The two chatted through the night. When Gu Xun woke up again, the ceiling was the first thing he saw.
Upon seeing Gu Xun awake, Di Tian immediately went to arrange breakfast. After eating, Gu Xun found himself with free time.
But Gu Xun couldn't be bothered to practice, choosing instead to bask in the sun. The following days unfolded much the same.
"Di Tian, won't our master suffocate like this? Shouldn't we find him some friends to keep him company?"
Bi Ji watched Gu Xun sit idle all day long and grew concerned about his mental state.
"Well... perhaps we should find our master a playmate."
Di Tan agreed it made sense. If Gu Xun remained as clueless about the human world as Gu Yuena, it could lead to irreversible consequences.
Like the time Di Tian wasn't paying attention and his master's heart was stolen by someone else—utterly unacceptable. That was a bloody lesson learned the hard way.
Ultimately, Di Tian and Bi Ji decided to find Gu Xun a playmate.
[Some time later.]
Gu Xun was fishing in the small pond. He stared at the school of fish in the lake, but not a single one took the bait. His face darkened.
"Damn it! Back on Earth, I was a total loser at fishing. Even after crossing over, I'm still a total loser at fishing!"
Gu Xun muttered as he switched to his Minecraft-style fish rod. About ten seconds later, he felt a tug on the line. His eyes narrowed instantly.
"Got one!"
A smile spread across Gu Xun's face as he yanked the rod upward. A leather boot came into view, and his smile instantly froze.
