Chapter 67 - Chapter 67

One person and one Shikigami stared at each other, frozen for several seconds in tense silence.

Gojo suddenly broke the tension with a lazy smile, casually sitting on the sofa.

"It's fine. I don't care," he said nonchalantly.

Kinako let out a relieved sigh from deep within and burst into tears.

This… this is really the temperament of the strongest Onmyoji today? He actually forgives me for my words?

"Gojo-sama, you really…" Kinako trembled, eyes brimming with tears.

Gojo hummed thoughtfully, rubbing his chin.

"Hmm… what should we eat tonight? This little creature isn't exactly a cat or a fox… well some rare meat doesn't hurt to try?"

Kinako body froze, fur bristling as if the world had suddenly gone gray.

Wait, I didn't just hear that!

"Mama! Help!" Kinako panicked, attempting to shift into its talisman form and reattach to Benio's neck.

But Gojo's hand shot out, catching the tiny creature effortlessly.

"If you try running away, how will I have dinner tonight?" he said with a grin, holding Kinako firmly.

"Ahhh! I was wrong, Gojo-sama! Forgive me!" Kinako cried dramatically, face a mix of guilt and despair.

Goodbye, mama… my life ends tonight.

"Gojo-sensei, please don't eat Kinako! He's my most important partner," Benio Adashino interjected, her petite face full of concern.

"Mama…" Huang Fan's orange-red eyes filled with tears.

Gojo waved his hand dismissively. "I'm kidding. But now I'm curious—what gender are you, little thing?"

The Shikigami's voice had always been neutral, making it impossible to tell.

Gojo turned Kinako upside down in his hand, examining it closely.

"Oh my… unexpected," he murmured with faint amusement.

"Gojo-sensei! Don't toy with me!" Kinako exclaimed, rushing forward and hugging Benio protectively.

Gojo's face was same as before, utterly detached from worldly worries. "Gomen, Gomen… (sorry, sorry...)"

He muttered half-heartedly, while smirked.

.....

"Alright, Benio, let's go. I'll show you the room you'll be living in from now on," Gojo said, rising from the sofa.

This high-end apartment had five bedrooms and a spacious living area—more than enough for Gojo, Benio, and now two others.

"Yes," She replied, holding Kinako carefully as she followed.

They stopped before a spacious bedroom.

"I clean this room myself sometimes, so don't worry about dust. You'll be sleeping here," Gojo explained.

"Oh… and there's also my sister in this house. You'll meet her later—just call her 'Umaru.'"

A sister?

Hearing this, Benio's previously tense expression softened.

Living with Gojo as a teacher alone had been intimidating, but another female presence made things more comfortable.

"But… didn't you bring a suitcase?" Gojo asked, noticing her empty hands.

"I did," she replied, pulling out a charm and tossing it into the middle of the room.

Then—

Four perfectly neat suitcases appeared, preserved through the used of spell.

"Ah… impressive," Gojo muttered, turning and leaving the room, closing the door with a casual click.

The room fell silent, after he left.

Benio stood for a few seconds, then flopped onto the soft bed, staring at the ceiling in shock.

I've been in Tokyo all this time… yet I never expected this…

She had come seeking strength for revenge, but instead she found herself under the same roof of the legendary Onmyoji, Gojo Saturo.

Her thoughts wandered for a moment, but were interrupted by a sudden, excited voice.

"Hahaha! This bed is so soft, Mama!"

Benio looked up in surprise to see Kinako leaping onto the bed, bouncing off the mattress in midair, gleeful and playful.

The previously loveless expression was gone, replaced by pure joy.

"You fool," Benio Adashino scolded, but the corners of her mouth betrayed a faint smile.

.....

In the living room,

Umaru, Gojo's younger sister, had just arrived home.

She had just changed her shoes at the entrance when she spotted her brother on the sofa, absorbed in his phone.

Ah… brother's presence is so comforting.

She slipped past him quietly, but her sharp eyes immediately noticed two cups of coffee on the table.

"Huh? Onii-chan…do we have guests?" she asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously.

"Count her as such. My future student. She'll be living here from now on," Gojo explained casually, still scrolling his phone.

"She…?" Umaru's eyes widened.

His word made it clear that the guest is a girl.

"Just a little girl, that's all. And next week, she'll be a first-year student at Sobu High School, in my class."

Gojo put down his phone, unsurprised by his sister's reaction.

"Oh… okay then," Umaru said nonchalantly, though her heart raced.

From now on, my brother's… chastity will be under my watch!

.....

Meanwhile, Kinako continued to play on the soft bed, leaping and flipping joyfully, while Benio gently scolded it, her expression softening with each bounce.

"This world… has Onmyoji, monsters, exorcist and Shikigami," Benio thought, realization washing over her. "And I'm actually a student among all this… in training under Gojo-sensei."

The enormity of it made her heart pound with anticipation.

She would become stronger, and perhaps one day, she could avenge her family.

Yet for now, in this high-end apartment, surrounded by coffee, soft beds, and her tiny Shikigami companion, she allowed herself a rare moment of peace.
