"Crackle!"
"Congratulations, Player Maxwell Gillette, for making first blood. Reward: 100 XP, 10 Mana..."
"Congratulations, Player Maxwell Gillette, for loot collection. Loot: 1 improvement element."
"Congratulations, Player Maxwell Gillette, for collecting badges. Badge reward: 1 honour value."
The notification sound continued after Erin's death, giving out rewards to Maxwell. Maxwell was surprised when the notification sound went off. "I'm also gaining XP from killing people?"
This was unexpected and a game-changer for Maxwell. Killing people would give him XP that was higher when compared to the daily quests he completed and he would gain mana too.
Maxwell was overjoyed to the extent that he felt like someone who had just won a lottery. He looked over at where Sean and the other two stood, his eyes flashed with a glint of rage. They were going to become his treasure chest soon as he began to approach them confidently. "Hello, boys!"
"Maxwell!"
"Did you just kill Erin? No! How is that even possible? You're crippled and shouldn't be able to cultivate."
Sean and the others were finding it hard to believe that Erin had been killed by Maxwell in a single move.
"Rage!"
Sean grabbed onto the head of the raging boar before sending it flying as he threw it across over some distance. He didn't even bother to look in the direction he sent the beast after throwing it away. He quickly rushed to Maxwell.
His killing intent was now palpable. "You killed Erin, you dared to kill a member of the Gillette Household!"
Maxwell grinned at him before he started to laugh. "So what if I killed him? You're not doing anything for him are you?
"This place shall become your grave! Bastard!" Sean said before sending out a palm attack at Maxwell.
Maxwell was quick as he changed his position immediately. He took an attack stance to counter Sean who was a level higher than him. With a gruff, he mumbled at Sean. "My turn!"
He decided to use all his strength in his attack since he was still at level 7, bronze rank. Every strike he made was at maximum.
Why attack twice when a single attack could kill your opponent? There was no need to restrict himself against these boys.
His current level was below that of his opponent, so he was now relying on his martial technique. "Dragon Beast Palm!"
"Vengeance for the death of Erin!"
Sean was surprised when he was met with Maxwell's martial technique attack as he flared up with rage. Sean needed to turn the tide for the attack as he quickly used his martial technique to grab Maxwell's right hand.
"Dragon Claws!"
"There's no breaking free now. I'm sure Sean would tear him apart now."
Maxwell was shocked, he didn't expect this. Sean had a Martial Technique and a very good one at that, he was restrained easily but... Maxwell just put on a faint smile.
"Dragon fire attack!" Fire quickly engulfed his right hand, burning onto Sean's palm.
Sean retreated immediately as he felt severe pain. He was preparing for a counterattack as he launched a second attack.
Almost at the same time, Maxwell activated his Martial Technique for his left arm. "Dragon Beast attack." The Dragon Beast Palm was a combination of both fire and the dragon beast on both sides of the players ' arms.
"Bam!" Maxwell's attack came crashing with a fist of dragon head in flames at Sean's stomach.
"Puff!" Blood spurted out of Sean's mouth as he stepped backwards, his face slowly paling as he lost blood. "How dare you..."
Before he could complete the sentence, Maxwell charged at him with full force. Within seconds, he was now standing in front of Sean again. "Your turn!"
Maxwell made a run for Sean after dealing with him significant damage. The other two were still treasures for him and he didn't want them to start working together before he could end it. If all three were to come together to attack him, he would never stand a chance
He smashed down on Sean like a wild dog. Sean didn't have the strength to fight back after receiving much damage within seconds, he was dead.
"Crackle!"
"Congratulations, Player Maxwell Gillette, for making a kill. Reward: 150 XP, 15 Mana."
"Congratulations, Player Maxwell Gillette, for loot collection. Loot: 1 improvement element and 50 silver currency."
"Congratulations, Player Maxwell Gillette, for collecting badges. Badge reward: 1 honour value."
"Congratulations, Player Maxwell Gillette, for Levelling Up, Level 6, Bronze Rank."
"I've levelled up, this is just too good. Somebody wake me up!" Maxwell laughed out loud excitedly. His attention was now turned to Durov and Valen. "Who's coming first or is it both?"
With his new current level and his Martial Technique, the two boys proved to be easy picks.
Valen, who was currently at Level 7, Bronze Rank, kneeled immediately as his body trembled while he begged Maxwell.
"It's just him against us Valen!" Durov said, tugging at Valen but...
He too soon knelt before Maxwell as they both began to beg.
Maxwell walked slowly as he approached them with caution. "Your pleading isn't going to do much good for you."
As soon as Maxwell got close enough to the two, Durov charged at him as he dugged his hand into the earth, spraying Maxwell sand directly at Maxwell's eyes. "You didn't see this coming, bastard!" He rushed at Maxwell with rage. He supercharged his punch.
"Thought you might do that fool!"
"Bam!" Maxwell launched a counterattack against Durov, which landed directly on his chest. It was a swift counterattack that decided the battle, with Durov turning up dead.
The notification sound tipped off again in Maxwell's mind.
Maxwell didn't waste any more time as he sent Valen's body flying. He didn't like the idea of killing people but he had to. The bodies of the four boys lay around lifeless.
He had earned 500 XP from killing the four boys, and he also gained 4 improvement elements. This was very fortunate for him since they were vital for regenerating mana.
None of his martial techniques needed Mana, so this was currently useless to him. "Constantine should make use of this. It's time he levelled up, also."
The wild spawned boar had witnessed the event that had just happened and it began to tremble as it retreated backwards.
"Bam!"
The notification sound came after Maxwell wasn't ready to let go of any chance at levelling up.
"Crackle!"
"Congratulations, Player Maxwell Gillette, for killing a boar. Reward: 20 XP, 0 Mana."
"How very poor!" Maxwell muttered to himself. Just then he opened up the screen to the system. "Just a level from having a Divine Technique. Overdrive... Here I come." Maxwell said excitedly.
