Chapter 6 - Making A Plan

Hearing everything from the guardians, Ehtra was in a trance. Having difficulty processing all that information, she just heard.

After a while, she then looked at the guardians one after another, intently looking at the magical creatures in front of her. The place where they were was actually an endless void. Hence, despite the large size of some of the magical creatures, like the Dragon, it was no problem.

Contemplating hard, Ehtra finally said something determinedly, "If I accept such a huge task, how do I even start? Look, you don't need to worry because I'll willingly do it. I can even sacrifice myself if it requires me to do so, but you're also aware that I'm just a girl from the poorest area of the Lesthrea continent. If I have to travel around the world and make a change, a had to have a thorough plan first."

For Ehtra, sacrificing her life was really not a big deal, in fact, she once had a dream to save their country from this nauseating and never ending corruption, to ensure that her younger brother would have a bright future where the life of the poor was not as cruel as it is, and if sacrificing her life would be what's at stake to achieve it, she would willing offer it.

The guardians could all see her determination and willingness. They are very happy with her willingness, but they are also heartbroken for her. She was supposed to enjoy her young life, but instead, was granted such a huge task that might cost her life.

The guardians then hardened their resolve and discussed their plan with Ehtra.

First, do you remember the shiny object you picked early? The guardian of Nonthrea said.

"Yes, why? Is it really valuable?" Ehtra replied curiously with sparkling eyes, remembering the shiny object she picked up earlier in the junk shop..

Of course! It actually came from me. I used it to make this connection with you, you didn't notice earlier, but it actually cuts your finger a little. The very reason why we could all talk right now. You can use it to make sure that once you leave your grandma and younger brother, they will be fine and will not be hungry for a few years. The guardian of Nonthrea replied.

You can also have some of the money for your food, since you'll not need to commute anyway to go anywhere; you can just teleport, and we'll just have to guide you to wherever you need to go. The guardian of Erethrea added.

What you only need to do is to disguise yourself so as not to let anyone know you, and to also protect yourself. The guardian of Soethrea said, reminding Ehtra of this important fact.

Don't worry, each guardian of the continents will accompany you throughout your journey once you are on their continent. However, since you're the guardian of the Lesthrea continent, it was yours to navigate, since we are also not that familiar with this continent, but if anything happens, just call us in your consciousness, and we'll come right away to help you. The guardian of Afelthrea said.

You can also first practice the powers we've bestowed upon you. The guardian of Arethrea said.

However, what you need to do first is to have a good alibi to your family for why you would leave and make sure that they would not be associated with you in the future, because they would be targeted if anything goes wrong. We wouldn't want that at all. The guardian of Usethrea thoughtfully said to Ehtra.

Ehtra tried to remember everything they said and nodded with understanding of what was going to happen to her in the near future.

That is all for now, child. Take a proper rest, and we'll talk again once your quest starts. The guardian of Arethrea said, and one after another, the guardians bid her goodbye.

Ehtra then slept peacefully throughout the night. She took as much rest as possible to prepare herself for facing her family the next morning.

-------

The next day, she woke up her grandma and younger brother from a serious talk.

In front of their small dining table, Ehtra placed the shining object, a big chunk of pure diamond glistening brightly.

"Grandma, Ehtan, before anything else, let me make it clear, I picked this up yesterday while working at the junk shop. Hence, it's mine now. Let's sell it later." Ehtra directly said without giving her family a chance to respond.

"But, Ehtra, would it be okay?" Her grandma worriedly asked.

Of course, grandma! Why not? It is clearly not stolen, so there's nothing to worry about.

Ehtra then saw her grandma and younger brother finally breathe a sigh of relief and laugh at them softly.

Seeing this, she immediately proceeds to the most important part,

"Grandma, Ehtan, I have another important thing to say." Ehtra looked at their eyes and said determinedly, "I have to leave. Of course, not because of the diamond. It's because I have to do something outside this small town. All I could say is it's something that would benefit everyone. If it works out, I promise I'll be back immediately."

"But sister, do you really have to leave? Can you not leave?" Ehtan said while sadly crying.

"Brother, I have to. You will understand once you get older." Ehtra said softly while gently caressing her younger brother's head.

Looking at the determination in her granddaughter's eyes, her grandmother silently agreed. Not allowing herself to cry because this is also the first time ever that Ehtra acts like this, and she knew her well; everything she does and decides to do was all done with thorough thinking and decisiveness.

--------

Ehtra disguised herself, covering her face with a veil, and then went out early while the sun did not yet fully rise to escape the questioning gaze of everyone and sell the diamond in the nearest town.

The buyer that she found was obviously an honest one, thanks to her lie detection power. After he intently inspected the diamond, he bought it for 500,000 Lehr, which is not bad considering that they were in a very small town and the poorest at that.

After a successful transaction, she then bought some garments from a nearby shop for her upcoming quest and bought something to eat for herself, her grandma, and her younger brother.

After all this, she then immediately went home.
