Chapter 141 - [141] Akiko’s Quirks

Already, Kyle's bloodlust and After Dark passive were capable of boosting his strength by a hundred percent.

So although he was already pretty powerful, when it came to nighttime, Kyle became an absolute beast of a fighter.

There were only a few people who could contend with him then.

Since his buffs were already good, Kyle had little expectations when it came to Akiko's quirk.

Well, that was until he had a taste of it…

Kyle used Aura Punch, expecting to see a noticeable, mildly usable buff, but the moment he did, his eyes widened.

Whoosh!

Streams of energy poured out of his hands, curling around his fingers all the way down to his elbow.

The energy surging around him was far more violent than it had ever been, it felt like he cleaved a skyscraper in half with just a single punch.

'I see why they wanted her quirk so badly…'

While Aizawa was the ultimate nerf, Akiko was the ultimate buff.

The only reason she remained undiscovered was because she most likely died in the original story.

"If I was to calculate it… this is a hundred percent buff?"

"What?" Solvane asked, her eyes wide in surprise. "Are you sure? Is it really that high?"

Kyle smirked as he stared at the quirk bubbling on his arm. "I'm certain, her quirk is just that good."

Since he could already gain a hundred percent boost from bloodlust and After Dark, if he was to add Akiko's buff…

'That is a two hundred percent buff!'

With a two hundred percent buff, Kyle was sure to be an unstoppable force.

There were definitely some monsters with insane strength in the anime.

But…

'Forget fighting the villains.'

With such strength, he could probably take on every single hero and villain in Musutafu City… combined!

'Okay, maybe that is exaggerating things a bit.'

Besides, Kyle fighting both heroes and villains combined was not even something that could ever happen.

"Wow, you're really amazing, Akiko!" Sakura beamed, grinning wide.

Akiko rubbed her shoulders while avoiding the gazes of admiration being placed on her by the girls.

Then, as though she just remembered something, Akiko's gaze snapped to him.

"This may sound weird… but… I think I got a new quirk?"

'Oh, I almost forgot that…' Kyle mused.

"I forgot to mention, yes, unlocking a new quirk is a natural part of the transformation."

Being a vampire, it made sense that your quirk would be strengthened. After all, vampires were able to naturally surpass human limitations.

With a stronger body, you could emit more energy, your stamina was far better, and your senses were sharpened.

Naturally, you would command greater control over your quirk.

What Kyle did not understand was gaining an entirely new quirk.

Was it that the quirk was always ingrained in the human body and vampire awakening unlocked it? Or was it an entirely different process?

Kyle had no clue.

'I'll think about it another time…'

"So, what quirk did you get?"

"It's hard to describe, but I can show you," she said as she began to wave her hand in the air.

As her hand moved, it was as though she was drawing a painting on an invisible canvas no one else could see.

A green wisp of energy followed her finger, leaving no traces behind.

When she was done, she smiled and stared at the air. "Done!" she said happily.

Himiko cocked her head to the side. "Hmm? Done with what exactly?" she asked as she began walking toward Akiko.

"STOP!!" Akiko suddenly yelled.

Surprised, Himiko nearly jumped back.

"You can't walk up to it… it will explode…"

"Wait, seriously??" Himiko gulped.

Kyle, on the other hand, walked closer to her.

'So she has a sort of explosive quirk?'

"Let's move to the sparring room…" Kyle instructed.

Although every part of the lair was solid, there were things like computers, chairs, and other equipment present.

Things Kyle would rather not buy twice, especially after the dent building the lair did to his wallet.

After deactivating the first 'invisible bomb,' they moved to the sparring room, and Akiko repeated what she had done previously.

Kyle stepped toward it.

"W-wait! What are you planning on doing?" Akiko blurted out.

He gave her a blank stare. "Oh, I'm just going to touch it."

"Huh?" Akiko blinked. "I said it is a bomb, and you want to touch it?"

"How else am I going to know how powerful it actually is?"

Akiko stared at him for a few more seconds like he was a crazy person before shaking her head.

"Well, don't let me disturb you then," she said in a defeated voice.

"Akiko, come over here!" Sakura called out to her.

When she arrived, Solvane coated them in multiple layers of shadows to protect themselves from the blast.

Kyle raised his hand. "Alright then…"

His skin suddenly gleamed like polished marble, his entire body hardening like a rock.

Next, he activated his quirk, shock absorption, then he strengthened his muscles using muscle augmentation.

'This should be enough to take the blast, right?' he thought as he reached for the seemingly empty air.

KAKBOOM!!

A deafening explosion rang out, a burst of green fire exploding outward, followed by a gust of wind that cut past him.

Kyle's feet screeched on the floor as he was pushed back to the other side of the room by the strength of the blast.

Thankfully, the room held.

'She probably wasn't even doing her best…'

Kyle raised his hand and smiled. He had the look of a man that had discovered a gold mine in his piece of land.

"That was actually painful."

"H-how did you even survive that?" Akiko asked from behind the covering. "And why are you smiling?!"

"Ahh, it's nothing… by the way, is that all you can do?"

Akiko shook her head then. "No, I can also do this…"

She was about to start when she noticed the making of a smile on Kyle's face.

"Before you ask, please, I won't use it on you."

Kyle's smirk vanished.

'I wanted to test it out firsthand…'

She drew a pattern in the air again, but this time it was visible to everyone.

It was a thin glowing pattern that flew in the air and traveled far away from her before exploding, although the blast was less potent.

"I can make the blast greater, and I can increase the distance, but I don't want to break anything."

Kyle wanted to tell her the room was pretty durable but decided against it since she would discover it herself before long.

"Do you have any idea what you want to call this new quirk?"

Akiko nodded. "I think I'll call it… point explosion."

Now perfectly okay, Akiko seemed far happier and a lot more lively.

She called the orphanage shortly after they were done to share the news with her family, with the lie that they got help from the commission.

After which the girls began to discuss, their laughter filling the room.

"Boss Kyle," Sakura said as she walked toward him holding a laptop.

"I got the image you were asking for. The plan isn't complete, but this is all I could gather from the hackable databases…"

Kyle grabbed the laptop and looked at the image in front of him.

It was a fortress, a place deemed to be impenetrable, an island that you could enter but never leave.

Tartarus…

That hell hole was his next target.

'I guess it's time I plan the prison break of the century.'

And the person he was going to set free? It was none other than Lady Nagant.
