I recounted every word Amy had shared with me to Theodore. His expression shifted from mild surprise to something darker, more calculating. A slow, predatory smile curved his lips, the kind that made my pulse quicken. He looked like he was savoring some private victory, some decision he had reached but chose not to reveal.
"Alpha Theodore," Kayne burst through the door moments later, his breathing labored and sweat glistening on his forehead. He looked like he had sprinted across the entire territory. "Becky and Maxwell are now secured in the dungeons."
My eyes flew wide. I whipped my head toward Theodore, shock rippling through me. "What? You had them imprisoned?"
A low, dangerous chuckle rumbled from his chest as his fingers traced along my cheek, tucking away a loose strand of hair. "Anyone who dares raise a hand against my Luna faces consequences."
I stared at him, speechless, my lips parting in amazement.
