Chapter 17 - Esoteric (1)

A few moments later, Wei An and Sylvia had finished their food; seeing that there were still two hours before the next class, they were about to order more snacks. As they were about to get up, a familiar mint-haired boy showed up; the boy then proceeded to go over to where Wei An was sitting.

"Young Master Wei An, hello. May I join you?" He said while smiling. Sylvia, on the other hand, was shocked and quickly greeted the prince.

"Of course, your highness, it would be an honor to sit with you," Wei An replied calmly. Shin then sat down beside Wei An, giving a smile to Sylvia.

"Ah, and may I have your name, miss?"

"Oh, uhm, I'm Sylvia, your highness... I'm in the summoning class with young master Wei An."

"Oh? It's a pleasure to meet you."

The conversation flowed, and they all talked with each other. Wei An had kept up with the talking, somewhat enjoying the conversations that they were having. He felt somewhat at peace with them.

Ha... Who would have thought that I'd enjoy talking with the two that I wanted to avoid? Maybe being friends with them isn't so bad after all. I still don't get the Prince's intentions, though; they're not harmful yet anyway.

"Ah, by the way, Young Master Wei An, what did you and Professor Syprys talk about?" Hearing Shin's voice, Wei An snapped out of his thoughts.

"Ah, well..."

Should I tell him? He's the prince anyway; I'm sure he knows already.

"It's not exactly a topic for discussion, your highness. I'll inform you about it later."

"Is that so? Very well then."

"That's not fair! I want to know too!" Sylvia butted in, before slightly getting embarrassed, remembering that they were both nobles.

"Umm, well, if it's like business, then you don't have to tell me."

"Ha... it's fine; you just have to keep it a secret."

"Oh, really? How generous of you to share information."

Wei An sighed and just continued to talk with them, "So, what class are you guys going to next?"

"I have spellcasting."

"Oo! Same here!"

"Looks like we all have the same classes."

"By the way, Sylvia, what section are you in?" Shin asked while smiling.

"Oh, I'm in section A, Your Highness."

"Well, thankfully we'll be able to see each other since they usually merge classes together."

"Right?"

"Haa...let's get going; we might be late."

They nodded, and after a few more seconds, they stood up, fixing their chairs. As they walked towards the exit, they saw students staring at them; however, both Wei An and Shin kept a calm face. Sylvia, on the other hand, felt weird and a bit uncomfortable with the staring.

Just then Shin whispered to Sylvia, "Hey, don't mind them."

"Ah, right, yes..." Sylvia tried to calm herself, looking away from those who were staring.

Ha... Well, I guess it would be odd if no one stared. Both Sylvia and the prince are a stunning pair, plus this body of mine is quite good looking too. A beautiful fae would always catch attention.

They all continued to walk until they got to the class; thankfully, they weren't late. Shin went to the first row, sat down, and both Wei An and Sylvia sat beside him.

After a few minutes, the professor walked in; he then went to put down his things on the table. The professor had dark brown hair; he looked as if he was in his mid-forties. The professor was calm and had an odd mood of superiority.

"Hello everyone, I believe it is the first time that we formally meet. I am Professor Francis. As you know, both sections A and S are here, so let us start by introducing yourselves."

Students then began to introduce themselves following the professor's instructions. As it came down to Shin's turn, the professor was oddly more respectful to him than the other students.

It's probably because he's the prince.

The turn then moved to Wei An. He calmly introduced himself, and the professor had the same demeanor, though it was less than the crown prince. Following that, Sylvia introduced herself, and the professor gave a slight nod.

Wei An then observed the professor, seeing that when the nobles introduced themselves, he was respectful or at least tolerating them, but when it came to the commoners, he gave no thought and did not seem to care for them, not bothering to hide the disgust in his eyes.

Ha... This is going to be a long day. Having a professor like that is repulsive.

Just then, as the last student was about to introduce himself, a student came running into the lecture hall. Apologizing anxiously over and over again, the student had light blue hair, and his attire was a bit shabby from running.

"I'm so sorry, professor!"

"Ha... sit down. I will let this be an exemption since it is the first day; however, do not make this a habit."

"Yes, sir!"

The student then looked toward the seats, looking for an empty chair. When he saw most of the seats were taken, he looked toward the first row, seeing an empty seat beside the prince. The student began to walk towards the seat, calmly asking if he could sit there.

"Excuse me, your highness. May I sit here?"

"Of course."

"Thank you."

After the other student introduced himself, the professor then went toward the student who was late, telling him to introduce himself.

"Ah, hello everyone. I am Zeno. I hope to learn from all of you today."

The student then sat back down, and the professor then started with his lessons. The lecture went on for about 30 minutes. After the lecture ended, the professor then scanned the room, and he then assigned a group to everyone.

"Everyone shall participate in the group; do not make me repeat myself. You will learn how to cooperate with each other as a group. Those who will not follow instructions shall be given demerits. I hope you all do your task well."
