Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!

A Sarutobi shinobi's blazing fire dragon tore through the sky, its flames illuminating the collapsed buildings and cramped battlefield surroundings.

Yūshin hid over thirty meters from the battlefield's periphery, fire reflected in his pupils. The fact that any random shinobi could casually use advanced Fire Release left him somewhat stunned.

Heat waves traced fiery trajectories, surging forward like arrows from a bowstring, distorting the surrounding air.

Earth Release: Earth Flow Wall!

Just as the fire dragon was about to score a hit, an Ishikawa shinobi on the other side rapidly formed hand seals. The ground rumbled as a thick earth wall rose, intercepting the fire dragon's assault path.

Boom!

The elongated flame crashed straight into the earth wall. With pressure from behind, the fire dragon was instantly compressed into a "fire pancake."

The sturdy earth wall seemed slapped by a giant flaming hand, producing deafening roars while heat waves scattered in all directions.

Under the tremendous impact force, even the surrounding ground trembled.

"Watch out!"

Another Sarutobi shinobi issued a warning. The shinobi who released Fire Release instinctively sensed some threat and immediately dodged sideways. The instant he left his original position, several sharp earth spikes burst from the ground.

Earth Release: Rock Fist Technique!

An Ishikawa shinobi's hands transformed into massive stone fists as he charged toward enemies, preparing for close-quarters combat.

Fire Release: Great Flame Technique!

A Sarutobi shinobi avoided direct confrontation, choosing Fire Release for flanking harassment.

Earth Release: Earth Spear!

Fire Release: Grand Fireball Technique!

Ninjutsu flew chaotically across the battlefield. Watching intently, Yūshin couldn't help nodding—indeed, the flame bullets used by the Sarutobi Clan showed no significant difference from his own.

Both sides' shinobi contested with Fire Release and Earth Release. Fighting back and forth hadn't yet caused casualties, but this definitely wasn't child's play. When someone's chakra couldn't hold out, deaths and injuries would inevitably occur.

Yūshin carefully observed battlefield conditions. As time progressed, formation order and coordination among same-faction shinobi unavoidably began declining.

Gradually, fewer and fewer companions surrounded the Sarutobi shinobi carrying the supply scroll. A pathway even appeared on the side near the battlefield's periphery.

Perfect opportunity—now!

Yūshin's figure immediately infiltrated the battlefield.

That shinobi was forming seals to release ninjutsu when he suddenly felt his shoulder lighten—the weight pressing on it suddenly vanished.

He instinctively looked back, discovering an unfamiliar figure had somehow appeared behind him. Then he saw a young face bearing traces of embarrassment and shyness.

"Too heavy? Affecting combat? Let me help carry it first."

Yūshin severed the supply scroll's carrying strap, then embraced it under one arm. Simultaneously, he performed subtle sabotage—tripping with his foot and pushing with his palm, nearly toppling this shinobi.

Next, he turned and ran without hesitation. As they say, thieves have their code—stealing is stealing, absolutely no interference with unnecessary matters.

Yūshin still respected the Sarutobi Clan's reputation. He didn't want extra trouble; otherwise, a blade from behind would better guarantee the person couldn't catch up.

Although Yūshin's battlefield infiltration and theft execution was seamless and flowing, in such highly tense environments, such theft-laden actions made it difficult for both sides not to notice him.

Therefore, he could only form seals awkwardly, throwing a fireball at an Ishikawa shinobi attempting to intercept him, then shouting loudly while fleeing:

"I'll take the supplies and withdraw first. You hold them off briefly before retreating—no need to entangle with them. Protecting supplies takes priority."

He deliberately kept his head down, preventing other Sarutobi shinobi from clearly seeing his face.

The battlefield was chaotic. Additionally, since Yūshin suddenly appeared on the battlefield, without detecting anyone's approach, the Sarutobi shinobi instinctively treated him as a comrade.

The Ishikawa shinobi on the other side needn't be mentioned—hadn't they seen this person release Fire Release? Must be a Sarutobi Clan shinobi.

Cooked duck cannot be allowed to fly away.

"Wait, you..."

The Sarutobi shinobi who'd been ambushed and originally responsible for carrying the supply scroll naturally detected unreasonable aspects, because he didn't recognize the other party at all. How could he allow someone to take the supply scroll?

But before he could issue warnings, surrounding Ishikawa shinobi had already surrounded and attacked relentlessly.

The Sarutobi Clan shinobi desperately intercepted, determined not to let any enemy leave the battlefield, ensuring supply safety during transport.

Yūshin didn't expect the Sarutobi to be stupid enough not to discover he was a thief—he only needed them to buy him one or two minutes.

He rapidly left the battlefield. After circling past a broken wall, blocking other shinobi's line of sight, he hugged the scroll and dove headfirst into a large tree.

Subsequently, his figure disappeared. For the original owners, quite possibly never to be found again.

...

Steal and run—somewhat thrilling.

All the excitement belonged to them, actually having nothing to do with him.

As a spectating party, Yūshin's stance was neutral onlooking. He was a good person who didn't harm others; the obtained supply scroll should count as reasonable and legal "income."

Look, for current him, he could definitely assassinate several Sarutobi shinobi, but he didn't assassinate.

Therefore, everything Yūshin obtained on the battlefield besides life should count as "life-preservation money."

It wasn't that assassinating Sarutobi shinobi was easier than assassinating Tsugawa shinobi, but rather the Sarutobi were constrained by equally powerful Ishikawa. Yūshin counted as a third-party force. If ambushing, pressure would definitely be lighter, effects better, achieving twice the result with half the effort.

After he carried the Sarutobi Clan's supply scroll and fled the battlefield, the other party couldn't possibly find him again.

No one could find him, equivalent to the supply scroll having no owner. For ownerless objects, naturally whoever discovers owns them.

Yūshin's "ownership" conformed to public order and good customs, violating no morality or law.

After leaving the unrelated battlefield and creating considerable distance from there, Yūshin released the Mayfly Technique, emerging from concealed movement state.

Subsequently, he knotted and secured the supply scroll's severed strap, then carried it on his back, moving toward the direction of his clan's camp.

This expedition could be called abundantly rewarding. The "experience pack" theory was verified; one "White Zetsu experience pack" rapidly increased his strength, and urgently needed supplies for the camp were also rob... picked up.

Regardless of whether the Sarutobi Clan's supply batch was meant to supplement battlefield frontlines or return to the village, inside would definitely contain things Yūshin's camp needed. Even this single supply scroll could greatly alleviate survival pressure on the camp side.

This opportunistic robbery action proceeded extremely smoothly without attracting unnecessary trouble. Yūshin seemingly embarked on a smooth-sailing lucky path.

However, under current era background and harsh war circumstances, did "smooth sailing" truly exist?
