"EHH??!!," Soka was stunned.
Kaito just laughed softly.
"What did you expect, that I'd leave you all day doing basic exercises?" Kaito asked mockingly.
"I-I..."
"Just get up, fighting is the best way to train," Kaito affirmed.
Soka just nodded slightly and got up from the grass.
"Let's begin."
Kaito didn't give Soka time to react; his leg swung out, creating a perfect arc in the air that aimed for Soka's neck.
"Is this guy trying to kill me?" Soka mentally complained.
Soka ducked and narrowly dodged the attack.
"Well done! Let's see if you can dodge the second one!" Kaito said playfully.
Kaito regained his balance, his fist clenched, and then a punch landed at Soka's chest.
The fist connected, causing Soka to flinch, the air escaping from her lungs.
"Hey! Why did you attack there?" Soka protested.
"These fists support gender equality," Kaito mocked.
Soka clicked his tongue in annoyance.
Kaito laughed softly and continued his attack.
Soka countered, attempting a knee strike. Very clumsy, full of openings.
But she was the one who was thrown off balance.
The air hissed with a swift movement.
Swifttsh
Dead.
A blow stopped at her neck, inches away.
"You would have died if it had been a sharp weapon or a heavy blow. Improve your defenses and reflexes," Kaito corrected.
Kaito stepped back, giving Soka a chance to breathe.
A few seconds later, he moved.
Soka's senses picked up on it, and his body tried to keep up.
He took a few steps back, avoiding a direct kick to a vital spot.
But—
Kaito didn't give him any room this time.
He moved, quickly.
Second.
A blow landed in Soka's stomach.
"Never get too confident in a battle, whether ally or enemy."
Soka fell to the ground, a sharp pain in his stomach and chest, and he felt like he was going to throw up.
"Oh, I thought you were tougher," Kaito whispered. "It seems I overestimated her. She's only a six-year-old girl, after all. Now I seem to intimidate her..."
"You're cruel... I felt like I was dying," Soka spoke weakly.
"Huh? In a fight, you would have died, and a long time ago," Kaito said, his voice serious. "If you don't train hard, you will die."
She said bluntly, directly, it was the best way to teach, in her opinion; Master Kaido would be proud.
Soka was speechless. How did she become friends with this madman?
"Come on, I'll give you compensation," Kaito added.
The little stars sparkled in Soka's blue eyes, her spirits returning, her good mood fading away, her pain forgotten.
"What is it?" Soka asked expectantly.
Kaito gestured for her to follow him, and Soka followed.
They arrived at the orphanage where Kaito lived.
"Stay outside," Kaito said, not confident enough to let her in. "My cell phone was stolen in Latin America; I don't trust it."
Soka nodded, confused. Why wouldn't he let me in? We Uzumaki aren't that sneaky...
Kaito entered the orphanage, closing the door behind him.
"Oh, Kaito, you're finally here!" the matron greeted him with a gentle smile.
Kaito just nodded, took off his ninja sandals, and set them aside, then entered his room.
He searched through his wolf-shaped wallet.
He found it in a drawer, opened it, and... it was a pittance, only 400 ryō.
His face darkened slightly as he grabbed the money.
"Well... I guess that's enough," he tried to console himself.
He left his room, his money in his pocket, and left the orphanage again. The matron just sighed, used to it.
This boy is very slippery, the matron thought.
Soka waited outside, stamping his feet impatiently, but her eyes lit up again when she saw Kaito return.
"Okay, what will you give me?" Soka asked anxiously.
"You're desperate," Kaito grumbled. "Follow me."
His legs moved repeatedly, moving toward a specific place. Yes, the one everyone is thinking about.
Aōsukanawa ramen shop.
Simply addictive for both of them.
Luckily, there was a discount; he didn't know why, but he loved it.
As soon as they arrived, they ordered the same order, exactly the same, without any variety.
Now I understand why Naruto loved this, Kaito sighed inwardly.
I'd always thought Naruto was an exaggerator or something like that, but ramen was just addictive, I loved it.
I'll protect this ramen, no matter what, but how will I save the village? He mentally wondered.
As soon as the bowls arrived, they ate them at lightning speed, Kaito and Soka grabbing the last bowl, as if it were the last chicken nuggets in the box.
"It's mine, I grabbed it first," Kaito said.
"No, it's mine," Soka argued.
An argument started, but in the end Kaito stole the last bowl from Soka and drank it all in an instant.
I know, I'll save this village by sharing information. Intelligence is power. Although I'll also ask for things in return, like the secret art of the adamantine chains. Kaito figured.
He quickly dropped the 400 ryō on the counter and then ran off, trying to escape Soka, who was chasing him for "stealing" the last bowl.
"You won't catch me, bitch!" Kaito mocked.
"I'll beat you up, damn it! That bowl was mine!" Soka barked.
"Try it, weakling!" Kaito said, amused, as he ran at his top speed to avoid being caught.
