Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: "The One Who Forgot, It Was You."

Lu Beichen's "Get lost" rang out, cold and cruel, hitting Jiang Suoru's pride directly.

The entire room seemed to freeze.

Jiang Suoru was stunned for three seconds, before her beautiful face twisted in anger and disbelief.

"Brother Jing! You... you just told me to 'get lost'?" She pointed at An Luowei, who was standing behind Lu Beichen, "You chased me away because of this unknown vixen...?"

Lu Beichen didn't even bother to look at her. He just coldly called out, "Assistant Zhang!"

"Yes, Mr. Lu!" Assistant Zhang immediately rushed in, cold sweat drenching his back.

"Inform the security department." Lu Beichen's voice was emotionless. "From today on, Jiang Su Ru is banned from entering the Emperor's building forever. If she deliberately violates, report to the police."

This was not a threat. This was an execution order, public and cruel.

Jiang Su Ru was truly frightened. She knew that Lu Bei Shen would do what he said.

"You can't do this to me!" She screamed, "Lu Bei Shen! Have you forgotten? Have you forgotten how the Jiang family helped you? Have you forgotten us..."

"I forgot, it was you." Lu Beichen interrupted, his eyes looking at her, dark, deep like an abyss.

An Luowei, hiding behind him, felt that the man in front of her suddenly became extremely unfamiliar. The coldness radiating from his body was no longer the coldness of a CEO, but... murderous intent.

Lu Beichen's inner thoughts: Forgot? How could I forget? I clearly remember thirty thousand years ago, it was you, Su Jin, who tricked Weiwei to come to Tru Tien Dai. I clearly remember you used the Thi Than dagger to stab her immortal body! I clearly remember your red dress, exactly like the dress today, was soaked with her blood. Thirty thousand years... I have waited for this day to reclaim this blood debt. In this life, I will make you pay many times over!

The rage from his previous life made Lu Beichen's aura become violent. Jiang Su Ru was scared by that gaze and took a step back.

The security had already run up. Two tall bodyguards stood beside Jiang Su Ru.

Jiang Su Ru knew she couldn't be stubborn. She immediately changed tactics, tears welling up in her eyes. "Brother Jing... hic... today is my birthday... You promised to have lunch with me... You lied to me..."

Lu Bei Shen was completely immune to her tears. "Take her away."

"No! Lu Bei Shen! You'll regret it!" Jiang Su Ru was dragged away by the bodyguards, she struggled frantically, turned her head, her vicious eyes like a snake aimed straight at An Luo Wei.

"You bitch! Just you wait! I won't forgive you! You won't have a good ending!"

The office door closed, returning to a deadly silence.

An Luo Wei exhaled, only then did she realize that she was tightly grabbing Lu Bei Shen's vest. She quickly let go.

The atmosphere became extremely awkward.

She walked out from behind him. "President Lu..."

Lu Beichen turned around. The terrifying murderous aura from earlier had disappeared. He looked at her, his eyes complicated, scanning her body as if to check.

"Her hand... hasn't touched you yet?"

"No... not yet." An Luowei shook her head. "Thank you."

Silence fell again. An Luowei mustered up all her courage and asked what she was most curious about.

"Why... did you call me 'you' just now?"

Lu Beichen's movement of unbuttoning his vest stopped. He looked at her.

An Luowei was frightened by that gaze, but still stubbornly looked straight ahead.

After a long while, Lu Beichen turned away, his voice restored to its original coldness. "I misspoke."

"Misspoke?" An Luowei clearly didn't believe it.

"Jiang Suo Ru is De Shen's competitor. She's making a mess here, affecting the company's image." Lu Beichen walked back to the desk, "You, in name, are 'Mrs. Lu'. I protect you, to protect the Lu family's reputation."

This answer... is reasonable, but also extremely cruel.

An Luowei's heart had just surged with a strange feeling, but now it was doused with a bucket of cold water. He wasn't protecting her, he was protecting his reputation.

"Just... just for 'reputation'?" She muttered.

"What do you think?" Lu Beichen sat down, raising his eyebrows. "Do you think I'm really interested in a small employee like you?"

Humiliation struck again. An Luowei clenched her fists. 'That's right, An Luowei, what are you fantasizing about? You're just a 500 million item.'

"I understand." She said, her voice also cold. "So... my job..."

She looked down at her desk, where the bowl of bird's nest porridge had gone cold. "Should we continue eating?"

Lu Beichen glanced at her. He didn't answer. He picked up a thick stack of documents on the desk and threw them at her.

Slap.

The stack of documents fell onto An Luowei's desk.

"What is this?"

"The Tinh Nguyet Resort Project." Lu Beichen said. "The most important S-class project in the second half of the year for the group."

An Luowei flipped it open in surprise. It was full of architectural drawings and plans.

"What are you giving me this for?"

"Sketch." Lu Beichen leaned back in his chair, "I want to see if my 'Exclusive Assistant' is truly capable, or just a useless mobile vase. I'll give you three days to come up with a concept sketch for the project's logo and brand identity."

An Luowei was stunned. This... this is real work! Not "sitting around doing nothing"!

The resentment from earlier was immediately replaced by a stream of competitiveness. Design was her passion, her pride.

She took the document. "Okay."

Lu Beichen's inner thoughts: 'Weiwei. In your previous life, you were the Flower God, the creator of hundreds of flowers, the greatest designer of Jiu Chongtian. In this life... let me see you shine again.'

"Lu Beichen, you want to see?" An Luowei raised her head, her eyes blazing, "I'll show you!"

She hugged the document, returned to her desk, her back straight. She would prove that she was not anyone's pet or flower vase!

Lu Beichen looked at that small but stubborn back, the corner of his lips, for the first time that day, curved into an almost imperceptible smile.
