Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: "Steamed Bun" Assistant and Family Dinner

The storm named Jiang Su Ru passed, and the 108th floor immediately restored its almost absolute silence.

An Luo Wei no longer had the mind to pay attention to the man sitting not far away. All of her attention was drawn to the Tinh Nguyet project.

She was a workaholic, or rather, she longed to prove herself.

When she flipped open the plan, she seemed to be drawn into another world. The Tinh Nguyet (Stars and Moon) project, a high-end resort on an isolated island, required the design to bring a feeling of "eternal" and "otherworldly".

Her professional blood boiled.

She picked up a pencil and began to sketch. The lines flowed naturally onto the paper. She forgot about time, forgot about Luc Bac Than, forgot about her identity as a "contract wife".

Lu Beichen didn't bother her. He was still handling his work, but his eyes occasionally glanced at the small figure who was concentrating.

He knew. He knew her talent.

Lu Beichen's inner thoughts: Wei Wei, you're still the same. Thirty thousand years ago, you used the Water Mirror to create the Ten Mile Peach Garden. Thirty thousand years later, you used a pencil to recreate eternity. You were born to create.

At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, Assistant Zhang pushed a small cart in.

"President Lu, Miss An. It's time for afternoon tea."

Only then did An Luowei raise her head, rubbing her slightly tired eyes. On the cart were mango mousse cake, mulberry panna cotta, and a cup of hot chrysanthemum tea.

"I didn't call..."

"The CEO told me to prepare." Assistant Zhang respectfully said. "He said you work hard and need to 'compensate'."

"Raising" again! Did he think she was a pig?

She glared at Lu Beichen, but he turned his face to the window, pretending to be unrelated.

An Luo Wei ate resentfully. But she had to admit, the cake was delicious. And this Tinh Nguyet project... She turned to ask him: "President Lu, what exactly is your request for 'the feeling of being out of this world'?"

Lu Beichen turned around. He looked deeply into her eyes.

"I want it to feel... right in front of you, but also far away. Like a memory you've forgotten, but is still there."

An Luo Wei paused.

A forgotten memory?

This sentence... vaguely touched a deep corner of her mind. She suddenly remembered the strange dream about the peach blossom garden and the man in the black robe.

Seeing her pensive, Lu Beichen calmly added: "In short, it must be 'high-class' enough to make the customer feel like he doesn't belong to this world. Get to work."

The excitement that had just started was immediately extinguished. She cursed in her heart: "You cold-faced tyrant!"

Five o'clock in the afternoon, off work.

"Miss An, President Lu is waiting for you in the garage." Assistant Zhang announced.

"I can go back by myself."

"President Lu said, if you don't come down within 5 minutes, he will come up and 'carry' you down."

"..."

An Luowei gritted her teeth and packed her things. Lu Beichen, you really are a bastard!

The black Rolls-Royce rolled silently. The atmosphere in the car was even colder than the 108th floor. An Luowei turned her face to the window. Lu Beichen closed his eyes and rested. The two of them didn't say a word.

This silence lasted until they entered the villa.

"Dad! Mom!"

A tiny figure rushed out like a small bullet.

But the target was not Lu Beichen.

Lu Tian'en ran past his biological father, rushed straight over, and hugged An Luowei's legs. The little boy raised his head, his eyes shining like two stars.

An Luowei smiled instinctively. All the fatigue and frustration of the day seemed to disappear. She bent down to pick the little boy up. "Xiao Tao, were you good at home today?"

The little boy nodded, hugging her neck tightly.

Lu Beichen stood beside him, watching this scene. His eyes softened. This scene... was what he had been waiting for for thirty thousand years. A family.

But the next second, Lu Tian'en frowned.

The little boy was a "Fairy" and was extremely sensitive to emotions. The boy felt the tension, the cold distance between his "father" and "mother".

The boy slid down from An Lac Vi's body. Then, the boy ran over and grabbed one of Luc Bac Than's fingers. He ran back and grabbed one of An Lac Vi's fingers.

And then, the boy used all his strength to try to pull the two adults' hands closer together.

An Lac Vi: "..." Luc Bac Than: "..."

The boy looked up, looked at Luc Bac Than with a commanding gaze, then looked at An Lac Vi with a pleading gaze. The meaning was very clear: Mom and Dad! Let's make up!

An Lac Vi was embarrassed and wanted to pull her hand back, but Luc Bac Than was one step faster. His big, warm hand... had already grabbed her small hand.

A jolt of electricity ran down An Lac Vi's spine. She startled and looked up. Luc Bac Than was also looking at her, his eyes deep.

Seeing this, Lu Tian'en clapped his hands in satisfaction, then trotted into the dining room.

"Let go... let go!" An Luo Wei quickly pulled her hand back, her face red.

"It was my son's request." Lu Beichen said calmly, but his ears were also slightly red. He took off his vest and walked into the dining room.

Dinner took place in a strange atmosphere.

But Lu Tian'en still seemed unsatisfied. The boy looked at his father, then at his mother, both of them eating silently.

The boy suddenly put down his spoon.

"Young master? What's wrong with you?" Mrs. Li was worried.

The boy didn't eat. The boy just shook his head.

"Lu Tian'en, eat." Lu Beichen used the commanding tone of a CEO.

The boy pursed his lips and turned away.

"Xiao Tao?" An Luo Wei was worried. "Aren't you hungry?"

The boy looked at her, then at Lu Beichen, his face full of "resentment".

An Luo Wei suddenly understood. The boy... was sulking. He wanted his parents to talk to each other.

She sighed. She couldn't be harsh with this child. She picked up a piece of lobster that she knew Lu Bei Chen liked to eat (she just happened to observe it in the office), and put it in his bowl.

"You... eat it." Her voice was soft.

Lu Bei Chen was stunned. He looked up at her.

Seeing that, Lu Tian En immediately picked up a piece of broccoli (which the boy knew An Luo Wei liked), and clumsily put it in her bowl.

Now, all three of them looked at each other.

An Luo Wei burst out laughing. Her clear laughter broke the tense atmosphere.

Lu Bei Chen looked at her smile, his originally cold eyes suddenly became gentle like autumn water.

Lu Tian En saw his mother smile, the boy also grinned. He picked up his spoon, happily scooping up a big mouthful of rice.

The "Steamed buns" campaign... was a great success!
