Chapter 43 - Fu Lengyu's Abnormality

It had been a very depressing half-day for An Ran. Several times, she felt like crying, but she forced herself to hold back.

If her entire career was going to be like this, then there was no hope at all. An Ran made up her mind that when Fu Lengyu returned, she would personally go to him. He had come to her office last night and should have seen the financial analysis report that she had already completed. With him as a witness, they could definitely find out who was deliberately trying to sabotage her. Anna... you better not let me catch you with evidence.

The more An Ran thought about it, the more indignant she became. Why were all the people around Fu Lengyu so unpleasant and detestable? Even their behavior was shameless!

Finally, in the afternoon, Fu Lengyu returned. An Ran found a spare moment and slipped out to the top floor office. Fu Lengyu was on the phone, and Lin Yu had not yet returned. The office door was half-open, but An Ran was too impatient to even knock.

As soon as she pushed the door open, Fu Lengyu's face turned sour when he saw her. "What are you doing here?"

An Ran was used to facing Fu Lengyu's bad temper. She had to lower her posture and be careful, knowing that she still had to rely on him to clear her name. "Last night..."

Before she could finish her sentence, there was a knock athe door. Fu Lengyu said, "Come in."

Anna, with her wavy hair and charming demeanor, didn't seem to notice An Ran at all. She greeted Fu Lengyu with a warm smile. "Mr. Fu..."

Fu Lengyu showed no response to her seductive manner, like an eternal ice sculpture emanating a cold aura from the inside out. "What's the matter?"Anna glanced meaningfully at An Ran and said with a slight smirk, "What I'm about to say may be the same thing that An Ran wants to say."

An Ran's heart tightened, afraid that this woman would once again try to smear her name. She quickly said, "Let mespeak first!"

At least she could get in the first word and not be falsely accused.

Fu Lengyu seemed to have not heard what was said and directly asked Anna to speak first. Anna proudly lifted her chin and calmly recounted what had happened that morning. After finishing, she sighed and solemnly said to Fu Lengyu, "Mr. Fu, based on the issue with the report, there may be some issues with An Ran's character. To prevent internal data leaks, we cannot assign important tasks to An Ran. I've thought about it and can only have her assist with minor tasks. What do you think, Mr. Fu?"

An Ran was almost in tears from the injustice. "I didn't do it! I already finished the report and left it on my desk after working overtime all night!"

Under the strong sense of grievance, An Ran loudly protested and cried out, "I don't even know why the report disappeared! And just now in the office, I only suspected that Anna used my report. I didn't make any definitive statements! Why is she accusing me like this?"

Anna frowned and coldly said, "You're a newcomer. How could you have completed the monthly financial analysis overnight? Even the top accounting and finance secretaries can't do it. Do you think you're a genius?"

"And if you say you finished it, where is your report? Show it to everyone!"An Ran was forced to retreat step by step by Anna's questioning, her mind in chaos and her nerves overwrought. She couldn't even find the words to explain or refute.

Anna's eyes flashed with disdain. Dealing with this kind of person was effortless for her!

Fu Lengyu saw An Ran in such a miserable state and probably wouldn't like her anymore, right? Anna thought gleefully. If he hated An Ran, then she could take advantage of the situation!

"Mr. Fu, as you can see... without evidence, she dares to make baseless accusations. This kind of behavior is not suitable for rigorous work. Besides assisting with minor tasks, there may not be any other better arrangements for her."

Anna felt confident in her proposal and solemnly suggested it to him. However... her sense of satisfaction was cut short by a pair of icy cold eyes!

Fu Lengyu looked at Anna as if he were looking at a dead person. Anna's smile gradually stiffened, and she asked with some uncertainty, "Why are you looking at me like that, Mr. Fu? Is there something on my face?"

An Ran had no expectations left. Fu Lengyu wouldn't care whether she lived or died!

"When I watch someone lie, why do they have so much confidence? Your performance just now was very vivid and exciting. I almost believed you."

Anna couldn't even force a smile. Facing that sharp gaze, she felt a chill spread throughout her body, making her limbs stiff and cold. Even speaking felt like her tongue was tied. "Mr. Fu, what kind of joke are you making...hehehe..."

She forced a few laughs, but found it was a futile clown-like performance. An Ran was scared out of her wits by this sudden turn of events...or rather, she was stunned!

What was going on?

Would Fu Lengyu really be so kind as to help her? Could this unbelievable thing really be happening?

An Ran blinked her eyes without looking away, afraid of missing a single word or expression. "You stole the report that An Ran worked overnight to prepare. That's one thing, but you also had the audacity to turn around and falsely accuse her, Anna. Who gave you the courage to think you could bully someone who belongs to me?"

Fu Lengyu spoke in the most ordinary tone, but his words were enough to make people tremble with fear.

Anna's heavy makeup couldn't hide her instant paleness. She looked at Fu Lengyu with pleading eyes full of fear. "Mr.Fu...I didn't do that. Please believe me..."

"An Ran is mine no matter what. Most people know their limits and won't go too far," Fu Lengyu said, crossing his fingers on the table. He continued with interest, "Anna, who told you to do this? If you confess, I won't hold you responsible and will let you leave the company with some dignity."

"But if you don't confess, you can forget about finding a good job in the future...as long as I add your name to the blacklist of hires, hehe..."

The consequences of not finishing the sentence were self-evident, and as a bystander, An Ran couldn't help but think of a series of events that had happened since she joined the company, making her even more aware of Fu Lengyu's terrifying nature.

How deep were his schemes? He knew exactly what kind of person Anna was, yet he deliberately indulged her and used her to teach An Ran a lesson. In the end, he simply kicked her out like a discarded object. It seemed that not only Anna, but even An Ran herself had been played around with in the palm of his hand! An Ran hated the feeling of being controlled so much! "It was Tang Yu who asked me to do this! She said you didn't care about An Ran at all, so it wouldn't matter what I did..."
