The tension from Cyrus still hung in the air like static. Section E stood frozen, eyes darting between me, Mason, and Keifer, trying to process what had just happened.
Keifer's grin returned — wide, cocky, eyes sharp. He leaned in, voice low and teasing, "You only love me, huh? Good to know."
I rolled my eyes but couldn't help smiling. "Don't get too full of yourself, Keif."
His arm brushed mine — soft but possessive. "I don't need to. You just said it yourself." He winked, protective aura radiating off him.
Mason, standing a few steps away, cleared his throat and grinned. "Handled, Cyrus is gone. Like… poof. Vanished. Hopefully he doesn't try that again, or he'll get a souvenir frisbee to the face next time."
I blinked. "A frisbee?"
He smirked. "You know… subtle intimidation. Works every time."
Keifer's eyes narrowed, half suspicious, half amused. "And you're… okay with that?"
Mason tilted his head, eyes twinkling. "Absolutely. You two make it fun. Keeps me entertained. Plus… someone has to keep Jay from hitting everyone in a fit of sass."
I snorted, elbowing Keifer lightly. "See? Even he agrees I'm a menace."
Keifer grinned, leaning closer. "Sassy, dangerous… and all mine."
Section E finally broke their silence. Rory and Blaster started talking over each other:
"Jay! Who was that guy?!""Why did he talk to Cyrus like that?!"
Cin poked me dramatically. "Jay Jay, you were so sassy! I didn't know you had that in you!"
Mason chuckled from a few steps away, tossing a thumbs-up. "And just so everyone knows… if anyone dares touch her… I also handle frisbees, water bottles, or any random object you want. No extra charge."
Yuri tilted his head, amused but calm. "So… Mason, huh?"
I grinned. "An old friend. That's all. And yes… he has a weird sense of humor."
Keifer leaned an arm around my shoulders, whispering, "Funny guy, huh?"
I elbowed him gently. "Careful, or he might steal your title of protector."
Mason, walking away slowly, waved one hand without looking back. "Don't worry, Keifer. I leave the boyfriend duties to you. But… I reserve the right to call you brother-in-law if you don't behave."(in directly calling keifer jay's brother)
Keifer froze, then blinked. "Brother-in-law?! Wait—what?!"😕

I laughed, bumping his shoulder. "Relax, Keif. He's joking… mostly."
The crowd around us started whispering, laughing, but Section E was still trying to piece together the chaos.
Beneath the fun, I kept my eyes sharp. Cyrus was gone for now, Mason had handled him, and Section E didn't need to know how much danger had been sidestepped.
Keifer leaned down, brushing a strand of hair from my face. "You don't have to handle everything alone, Jay."
I grinned, playful but firm. "Maybe. But I'm really good at it."
His grin softened. "Still… I'm not going anywhere."
For a moment, the world felt normal — chaos, teasing, protective flirts, and a hint of funny authority from Mason. But I knew the storm wasn't gone.
And somewhere out there, Cyrus would be more careful… but he'd still be plotting.
