Chapter 9 - ch8

Han pulled out his laptop and started searching for part-time jobs near the university. He needed something flexible. After a few minutes, the door swung open and Felix walked in, looking exasperated.

"He's the worst," Felix declared, collapsing onto Han's bed. "He's literally painting his toenails right now, loudly singing a Twice song, and asked me if I want to be his 'muse' for a new sketch. I told him Minho sent me in here to keep an eye on him, and he just winked and said he prefers Minho."

Han laughed, genuinely amused. "Wow. Okay, maybe Minho is better."

"Definitely. So, what are you up to?" Felix asked, peering at the screen."Job hunting," Han replied, his voice serious again. "I need to find something fast. I saw a 'Help Wanted' sign at a convenience store a few blocks from here..."

"Wait," Felix interrupted, sitting up. "Why don't you try the cafe? 143 Cafe? If Minho works there, maybe they're hiring. And the manager, Bangchan, sounds nice."

Han looked up, the idea immediately clicking. "That's actually a great idea! It's close, and if Minho and Bangchan are there, it won't be totally awkward."

Just then, Minho walked out of the bathroom, a towel around his neck, his hair still damp. He stopped when he saw them."The cafe?" Minho raised an eyebrow, a hint of curiosity in his eyes.

Han quickly explained his situation—not the emotional family part, just the financial necessity. "I really need a job, and Felix suggested '143 Cafe'." Minho considered it for a moment, then a genuine, bright smile spread across his face. "You know what? We need another waiter. They just posted an opening this morning. You should talk to Bangchan. Tell him I sent you."

The encouragement from Minho gave Han a jolt of confidence. "Really? You think I have a chance?" "Of course," Minho said, his tone firm and supportive. "You're a friendly kid, and you're not afraid of work. Come with me tomorrow after class. I'll introduce you to Bangchan and Jaehyun, the owner."
