Chapter 10 - ch9

The next afternoon, Han was a nervous wreck. After classes, he met Minho at the university gate. Minho, ever the gentleman, was dressed impeccably, even for a walk to the cafe.

When they arrived at "143 Cafe," Minho led him past the counter into the small, organized back office. A man with warm, gentle eyes and an infectious smile looked up from a laptop. This had to be Bangchan."Chan-hyung, this is Han, my roommate. He's looking for a job," Minho said, his usual sarcastic edge completely gone when talking to his manager.Bangchan stood up immediately, offering a handshake. "Nice to meet you, Han! I remember you .you are the student who help seungmin that day right " han nodded. "We actually had someone apply this morning, but I haven't made a final decision. Sit down, tell me a little about yourself." Han found himself relaxing under Bangchan's 'dad coded' aura. He was honest about his need for a job and his lack of experience. Just as they were talking, another man, younger and sharply dressed, walked in. This was Jaehyun, the owner.Jaehyun listened to the end of Han's pitch, then smiled. "You know what, Han? We could use someone with your energy. How about this: a trial shift. Tomorrow night, 5 PM to 9 PM. If you show up on time and don't break anything, the job is yours."

Han couldn't believe it. "Yes! Thank you so much!" Minho gave him a subtle thumbs-up from the corner. The next night, Han was on his trial shift, and it was chaotic. The cafe was unexpectedly slammed. Changbin, who was also working—a strong, wired, and hilariously delulu boy—was running food, and Minho was expertly handling the orders. Han, trying to carry a tray of three drinks, stumbled slightly. The drinks didn't spill, but he caught himself against Minho, his face brushing Minho's arm.
