Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Gun never fails [Edited]

"So... basically, three guys came and beat everyone up to take over Gangdong?" Baki asked.

Sujin nodded. "Yeah, at least that's what we know."

Baki rubbed his head. "What's going on? Is there some kind of big group running around taking over Seoul or something?"

He turned to Sujin. "So where's Seongji? What was he doing when this happened?"

"Teacher had his shift at the convenience store," Sujin replied. "When he returned, he found a guy beating the others, so he intervened. By the time he got back here, he was badly hurt."

Baki was shocked to hear this. "Someone could hurt Seongji?!" He immediately walked to Seongji Yuk's room and found him bandaging his hands.

"Hey Baki, when did you return?" Seongji asked with a smile.

But Baki cut straight to the point. "How did this happen?"

Seongji Yuk shook his head. "I'm not sure, but from what I understood, he came to take over Gangdong on someone else's orders."

Baki shook his head. "I'm not asking that. What I'm asking is how did he push you to such a state?"

Seongji seemed awkward. "I dealt plenty of damage to him too. But there's something different about him. No matter what I tried, his bones were unbreakable, which made him unstoppable."

Baki's eyes glinted. "Damn! I should have been here too!"

Seongji Yuk shook his head. "Yeah, he was just your type."

"Tch! I'm not into men, you bastard!" Baki grunted.

Seongji Yuk laughed at that.

"So, is your work finished?"

"You could say that. I'm currently on standby. With the amount of money I have now, maybe we could move to a better place?"

Seongji shook his head. "No, the kids have grown close to each other. I don't want to separate them now."

Baki nodded. "Seongji, you're getting rusty. How about we do it like the old days?"

Seongji grinned. "You can't catch a break, can you?"

---

"Yo! Gun~ I heard you got beaten up pretty badly?" Goo asked as he checked out Gun from every angle.

"It was fun," Gun replied.

Goo whistled. "The opponent must have been very strong to make you fail your mission."

Gun smirked. "Fail? Me? I didn't fail."

Goo asked, curious, "How? Didn't you fail to take down Hostel?"

Gun laughed. "I was never intending to take down Hostel. I'm still waiting for the call from one of the four major crews—Gangdong's Hostel."

---

A bunch of police gathered around Hostel. They escorted Warren, Vin Jin, and the others out in handcuffs. Baki, who had been asleep, woke up because of the noise. Suddenly Sally and Sujin burst through his door. "Baki-hyung! We're in trouble! What do we do?!"

Baki plucked his ear with his finger. "Calm down and tell me what's going on."

Sally immediately began to explain how Heather's mom was a lawyer and how she got Hostel caught. Now the police were arresting everyone, saying that Hostel was a criminal organization.

Hearing all this, Baki was startled. He immediately grabbed his phone and called the only help he knew—White Tiger Job Center. But even after calling several times, no one picked up. He immediately got up and grabbed his shirt. "Okay girls, I'll be going out to get some help, okay? You stay here so you can explain everything when Seongji returns."

Saying this, Baki rushed out. He saw the police cars had already started to leave. He immediately rushed to the subway. "Tch! I need to buy a bike or something!"

---

Baki reached the White Tiger Job Center. It was almost empty. Seeing this, he was about to rush out, but as soon as he grabbed the door to open it, Sera opened it from the other side.

"Baki? Aren't you on vacation?" she exclaimed.

Baki grabbed her shoulder. "Hey Sera, there should be some employee benefits for joining this rundown place, right?"

Sera looked shocked but nodded.

Baki let out a sigh of relief. "Some of my kids have been arrested on false charges of creating a criminal organization. Can you help me out with this?"

"Sure. Give me the details."

---

Gangdong Police Station

"Ma'am, the kids you're talking about have already been released. Someone came before you and got them out," a policeman said to Sera.

Sera nodded. Outside, she found Baki waiting. "So, are the kids okay?"

Sera shook her head. "Someone got them out before us. Maybe you should see if they've returned home?"

"Someone got them before us? How could that be?"

Sera dropped Baki off just in front of his house. Baki thanked her before leaving. Inside the house, he found Seongji Yuk and Vin Jin, Warren, Max and Derrick were sitting in a circle. Seeing Baki, Seongji asked, "Did you get them out?"

But Baki shook his head. "No, they were already released before I even got there." Then he looked at the others, "Where is Eli Jang?"

Nearby, Sally was also dying to know the answer.

Vin Jin shook his head. "I don't know. Someone picked up him and Olly. They invited us too, but we didn't agree. But if I had to guess, it's the same person from that day."

"You mean the one who attacked us?" Seongji asked.

Vin Jin nodded.

Nearby, Sujin could see the worry on Sally's face. "Hey, don't worry. You know how strong Eli is. He's gonna be okay. He will return again when he solves whatever problem he's facing. And we will always be ready to help him"
