Seed reached the chronicle and clocked into work for the day, his coworkers muttering about him as usual.
"Is it just me or Did he NOT always have hair that long?"
"You're seeing things man, I'm sure he normally used to tie it up...i think"
"Yeahhh, definitely, I think I can remember him putting it in a braid the other day"
He didn't really care for what they had to say, whether they cursed at him or Anthing, when he first joined they already mocked him for moving from law enforcement to journalism, so he didn't really respect this gossip bunch enough to care and he didnt have much to do today at work so he just lazed around, sleeping on his desk till the day was almost over and he was ready to get back home.
But on his way home he felt like it would be worth it to take a stroll again like he did in the morning, he felt like he would come across something again and he was itching to test his new powers.
It was dark outside now, seed took a stroll around, looking into shops and seeing that they were stocking up costumes for Halloweens on sale, he started picking up the pace and decided to take a short cut through the park that was in the middle of the city.
He stepped into the park, seeing some homeless people and hearing the crickets of the night, he was also hearing owls hooting but then all the sound seized for a moment, which made seed stop walking.
"Here we go" seed said as he steadied himself. And started looking around for anything out of the ordinary, he spotted a glowing blue light within the trees in the park and decided to sneak over to see what was happening.
"Come on, Cassie. You don't have to obliterate them all you know"
"Yeah yeah. Whatever man, You like catching them, I like killing them. We do our own things"
Seed could make out two voices, one male and one female, and the female's voice sounded very familiar. So he sneaked closer to them, hiding behind the trees and stretching his head out a little to peek at their appearance and what was producing the glowing blue light.
"I hate this damn season, man. All the monsters and spirits? Can't take a break, I already hunted down three Gargoyles and one headless ghost today. This One makes the fourth creature I'm coming across." The female voiced said in a complaining tone.
And just as seed peeked to see who she was and why she sounded so familiar, the male voice sounded behind him.
"Well, What do we have here?"
THUD!
Seed landed on the ground as the male figure that appeared behind him pushed him into view.
Seed turned back to see who had pushed him but was surprised when he saw it was the same man that was talking to the woman that he was just spying on, he turned to look ahead and still say the same man standing next to the woman then turned again to look behind him and saw the same man standing behind him.
"Twi—Twins?" Seed asked, with a confused look on his face.
"No."
Said the man behind him as his form melted and blended with the shadows of the trees.
"Hey! It's you, again!" The female voice yelled, smiling at Seed. And now he could remember who she was, she was the mysterious woman that he saw destroying the gargoyle with lightining earlier, the woman with a blonde buzz cut wearing a trench coat.
"You know this man?" The man beside her asked.
"Yeah, a civilian that wandered into one of my confinement fields earlier, I wiped his memory of it though" she replied, assuring the man that seed did not have any memory of her.
"Hmmm..I don't think so, Cassie" the man retorted, with obvious disbelief showing on his face.
"That's not the face of someone that doesn't know who you are"
"Oh?" Cassie replied, staring at Seed. she walked forward towards seed and bent down to meet his gaze since at this point seed was still kneeling on the floor from his fall.
"You...You still have your memories, don't you?" Cassie asked, looking very serious right now.
"I—i uhh, well, you see...funny story really" seed stuttered, unsure of how to lie his way out of this one.
But then Cassie Bursted out into a laughter!
"Hahahahaha, calm down, champ. It's all cool"
"sigh, take care of your Mess, Cassie." The Man said as he bent down and picked up a blue orb that was the source of the blue glow. Looking at him clearly now, Seed could see the man's slick black hair and goatee, he Dressed in a turtle neck.
"alright pedro,I'll meet you back at the office" Cassie replied, waving at him as he vanished into thin air.
"Alright then, YOU!" cassied said why dragging seed up to get them both standing.
"Let's deal with your issue now!"
"Uhh.. look, I mean no trouble, okay? I'm a journalist, I swear" seed said , trying to make up any excuse to get out of there before she tried that memory erasure spell again.
But Cassie could tell his intentions, and found it funny, laughing hysterical at the look of fear on seed's face.
"Calm down, man. It's all good. If you were able to somehow resist the memory wipe spell then you are definitely one of us" Cassie said, trying to calm seed down.
"One—one of us?"
"Yep! One of us! Normies have called us all sorts of names across history, like Physics, vampire hunters, exorcists. Etc"
Cassie walked towards seed's side and Held him on the shoulder, pulling out an identity card from her trench coat and shoving it into seed's face.
"But in this Era? We are all employees...or agents under one organisation, THE MONSTER MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION"
"Or MMA for short"
