Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Goodbye, White Clover City

I arrive at the front of the institute, there is a two meter wall, a black iron gate, it's 10 o'clock in the morning, the black gate slides and disappears inside one of the walls, at that moment eight guys with pants, thick black shirts, boots and black gloves enter, they were carrying two coffins; After them, wounded students enter, one has half of his face bandaged and there are traces of blood on the bandage, others have lost one or two of their limbs and their expressions seem to reflect that they would rather be dead. It is obvious that they would rather die, this Institute will expel them without any compensation, a pitiful life awaits them.

I avert my gaze and walk, towards the gate.

"Original owner, here I bid you farewell. From now on, only I am Dan Helsing."

I leave the institute and Sigfreud who follows me, says to me:

-Scenes like that happen almost every day in Rodem City.

-That's what this world is. -I answered.

He nods, and we continue walking, the buildings outside the Institute looked old, with worn paint, I look around, until I see a clothing store.

The inside of the clothing store is quite gloomy, the lights barely illuminate, it smells a bit dusty, I look at the clothes, I take all the black colored clothes that fit in my empty suitcase. I dress in a black long sleeve sweater, black pants, which for not being tailored, fit me pretty well.

Since he has a watch, I ask him:

-How long until 11 o'clock?

-Only 7 minutes.

After listening to his answer I head for the train station.

When I arrived at the station I saw 10 black trains similar to a locomotive, they were made of iron, they were like an armored train. Each train had the name of the city they were going to on the side.

-It is not necessary to buy a ticket, inside an inspector collects 6 black tokens. Per passenger.

"That means that the ticket that costs 5 tokens is cheaper, but I don't have time for that anymore", I thought when the sound of the horn of the 10 trains reaches my ear, it's deafening and annoying.

-This is as far as I go on the city tour. I wish you luck. -I said.

-I think you will need more luck than me. -Sigfreud said to me and turned around and walked away.

I enter the train, the interior is spacious and gloomy, the interior walls of the train are also made of iron, there are double wooden seats with worn cushions. I sit down and look out the window at the outside of the train station.

Suddenly, I smell the scent of cigarettes. A man in a corner, wearing an old suit, looks out the window while smoking nonchalantly.

The train has 5 passenger cars, with the capacity to carry 40 people per car. In the car I chose there are only 12 more passengers, and although it seems little, it is not, since not many people risk traveling from one city to another, given the danger it represents and the few benefits that can be obtained unless you aspire to a better city as was the case of Sigfreud.

The train sounded the horn for the second time, I remained seated, soon I would begin a new stage in this strange and unexpected life of transmigration.

A few minutes later I felt the train's engine start.

From the window I saw the station slowly moving away. The train began to increase its speed with each passing second, although it seemed dangerous, it was more dangerous not to arrive on time to the destination.

Only 2 hours maximum and it would pass the time in which the monsters and supernatural beings were idle the longest. No one knew the exact reason, but after checking, that period of time was conveniently used by humans who are always quick to adapt to circumstances.

The surroundings that could be seen through the window were arid, and in the distance mountains could be seen, according to studies, all unexplored territories had a high probability of being inhabited by supernatural beings or monsters.

About an hour into the trip, a man with an old gray uniform and some black details on the uniform, approached the passengers and with a calm voice asked in a monotonous way:

-Boletos or 6 black tokens.

Again and again he repeated the same phrase. When he got to the place where I was, he asked me the same question.

I took out 6 black chips, handed them over and he went on his way.

I turned my attention to the outside, to be specific I saw the sky, it was covered by a sea of white clouds. The sun was barely visible. At that moment I remembered the night I transmigrated, the sky of the White Clover City was clear and two moons could be seen. That's how my minutes went, observing the surroundings.

Bang!

I heard a rumble and then I felt how the train shook and I had to hold on to the seat tightly so as not to fall and hit myself.

[Random mission: survive the terrifying chase].

[Success: reward Terrifying]

[Failure: death]

"You did this?", I asked in my mind.

[No, this system lacks such capabilities].

Since I didn't know what was going on, the first thing I did was to observe the surroundings.

The train had stopped, I would say it was about ten to fifteen minutes before the two-hour journey. I won't say that we are close to the city of Rodem, but I don't think we are far either, if I take into account that we were traveling at a surprising speed for such a heavy train.

I look out the window, there is smoke at the front of the train. I walk down the aisles and see the terrified faces of most of the passengers, it is obvious, most are humans sent to work in the dangerous city Rodem and are now at risk of dying horribly. More than running the risk, the reality is that most of those present will die if the train cannot be repaired by nightfall.
