As the two queens walked the castle halls, they would briefly take quick glances at each other before continuing their walk.
Lilith would occasionally look toward the shining city that had an eerie resemblance to her former home long before she was banished into Hell.
She would reminisce on the times Lucifer would visit her in the garden, how he would care for and love her like a true husband. She smiled at the memory, thinking how simple things were back then.
And as Lilith thought back on her past, she felt a tentacle wrap around her shoulder. Looking to see where it may have come from, she looked toward the White Lady and saw she had a small smile on her face.
How did she know? Lilith asked herself. But as she felt the roots of the Pale Lady wrap around her, a calming feeling washed over her, and before she knew it, the weight of her past slowly faded away.
And before Lilith even realized it, they had finally reached their destination. Opening the door, it revealed a beautiful garden full of the same flowers her son had found all those years ago.
Was it true? Lilith thought. Had all they claimed, all they said, been true?
Lilith couldn't be too sure until she finally had a proper conversation with her son's other mother.
As they walked through the garden, they reached a solitary table with two chairs beside it, and along with it, two servants were waiting patiently for them.
They both sat across from each other, and the servants, moving with elegance and grace, quickly served and prepared different dishes and teas for them to drink.
"Please, enjoy yourself," the White Lady spoke with the gentle tone of a mother caring for a child.
Lilith, looking down upon the pastries, picked one up and, examining it further, took a small bite before experiencing absolute euphoria.
The desserts that resembled macarons were absolutely divine. The fluffiness was perfect, the sweetness didn't overpower the nuttiness—in fact, it complemented it. They combined in tandem with each other, making the perfect macaron.
"I take it you enjoy it," the White Lady spoke.
"Yes, this is the very first time I have tasted a dessert so... perfect," Lilith replied, taking another bite.
"I'm glad to hear that," the White Lady replied before picking up a macaron herself and eating.
And as they ate and drank their tea, they both slowly began to discuss what they should do.
The situation they were in was rather precarious, seeing as they both loved their son and would do anything to protect him.
The White Lady simply explained that they didn't plan to steal Stygian away from them but to simply aid him when he required assistance.
Lilith felt the same; she would do anything in her power to make sure that her children were safe and happy.
And as the two queens spoke more and opened up, they began discussing their husbands' assets.
All in all, both seemed to enjoy each other's company and agreed to visit one another to have tea and talk about their lives.
