"Wilfred you don't get to kiss my workers." Miss Sinclair scolded.
"Your workers? The last time I checked, I only hugged one person, and that was a mistake because I was probably drunk…. Come to think of it, I fired and hired this...." Mr Wilfred said, realizing that he didn't even know Celine's name.
"Celine. Celine is her name." Miss Sinclair said.
"And as far as I can remember, the applications she sent went to me … if you want to be sleeping around with her, do that while she's fired." She added
"Sinclair, don't fire her…. According to the camera, I was the one who hugged her; she didn't. I will take responsibility for my actions, not hers." Mr Wilfred insisted which made Sinclair shocked.
Why would Wilfred, who is so selfish and doesn't care about anyone, want to keep her in the job?
"Even if she's going to stay she should know her place," Sinclair said before leaving. She told Joana to get Celine to her office.
"Celine Johnson, would you care to explain this?" Miss Sinclair commanded, showing her the videotape.
"Everything the video showed me," Celine said boldly.
"Oh, you've got some nerves… a few days ago, you came crying like a baby to help you beg the CEO," Sinclair said in disbelief.
"I really appreciate your help, ma....but according to the video, I'm not to be blamed...."
"Close your teeth." Miss Sinclair commanded while interrupting Celine.
"You'll dismiss the main office….. you'll now join the janitors at the factory area ….I don't want to see you anywhere near my office or that of the CEO. You may leave." Sinclair added.
"Sorry ma one question before I leave.....will I still be getting the same pay?" Celine asked.
"No it will increase…fool," Sinclair said ironically.
The factory is where the relaxers and hair products are being produced; it is also called the cosmetics lab.
Celine is more than happy to work there since she loves the place so much.
She can perceive the hair products daily which reminded her of her father when she was nine.
Just as she was about to put on her janitor uniform, she received a call from her sister, who told her that their mum had collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.
"Ma cam down your mum will be alright." The doctor said,
"I didn't leave my workplace without permission to hear this…. Please, doctor, I just want you to be sincere with me, please." Celine pleaded with the doctor.
"Your mother's ovarian cancer has reached an advanced stage…..This means the cancer has spread beyond the ovaries, possibly to other organs in the abdomen." The doctor said,
"What am I supposed to do?" Celine asked
"She needs surgery. The higher you delay the more risky it becomes." The doctor said and left.
"Is mummy going to die?" Magret asked with a bunch of tears in her eyes.
"No, okay, we're going to fix this. I'm going to help get her health back together." Celine said, holding her sister tightly.
A thought just came into her mind. She remembers that Mr Cole said he borrowed money from Mr Wilfred to pay off his debts.
"What if I borrow money and pay back with ninety percent of my salary every month till my bills are cleared," Celine muttered.
"Stay here and take care of mum, I'll be back," Celine said, talking to her sister. She left immediately for the CEO's office.
On reaching the administrative building she wasn't allowed to enter. Celine felt so frustrated that she couldn't move again. She sat down there as if her life had ended.
"Ma, you can now come in." The security said.
Mr Wilfred saw her through the window and ordered her to come inside.
"Thank you so much….sir. for letting me in." Celine said when. She got there but didn't get a response.
"Please, can I get two hundred thousand dollars from you?" She continued when she didn't get any response.
"Have you ever seen that kind of money in your life?? Mr Wilfred said laughing.
"If you don't need anything else you can leave." The CEO said.
"Sir, please, I'll pay you back. My mother has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer for years now, and it's becoming more serious. She needs surgery, please." Celine pleaded. With tears in her eyes.
"Ovarian cancer…" Mr Wilfred said in shock.
"How do you intend on paying back?" He asked.
"You'll minus ninety percent of my monthly salary." Celine pleaded.
"Ninety-five percent." Mr Wilfred said and Celine agreed to it.
Although Celine is in one of her tough moments, she noticed something she hadn't noticed before.
Why would the CEO agree to help her at the mention of ovarian cancer?
And why is her father's picture in the company picture that was on the table?
